Is this the official calendar of ILM for 2006? It appears to have been referred to earlier but I couldn't find a thread on it anywhere. The back cover, by the way, shows a Valentine's Day playlist page, but is too fuzzy to read:

And, congrats to Matos!

lyra (lyra), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 23:21 (twenty years ago)

Arrgh, I can't do HTML anymore. Back cover is here and that congrats part wasn't supposed to be a link.

lyra (lyra), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 23:23 (twenty years ago)

I still haven't seen a copy! They were supposed to send it to me two months ago. GRRRRR.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 23:53 (twenty years ago)

Discover new voices and forgotten classics. Samba. Acoustic blues. Hip-hop and power pop. Fatboy Slim and Norah Jones, Eminem, Wilco and Lucinda Williams, De La Soul and Yo La Tengo, Moby and Miles Davis. And need to get your heart pumping at the gym? Start off with U2’s “Beautiful Day."

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 23:56 (twenty years ago)

haha I don't write the ad copy.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 00:00 (twenty years ago)

oh dear

100% WJE (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 00:02 (twenty years ago)

what, I should write the ad copy?

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 00:04 (twenty years ago)

if only

100% WJE (Jody Beth Rosen), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 00:05 (twenty years ago)

that isn't even the ad copy anyway--it's the catalogue description.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 00:08 (twenty years ago)

The catalog description for my Miles book is so fucking lame it makes me wince. (But didn't we talk about this w/r/t Frank Kogan not long ago?)

pdf (Phil Freeman), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 00:31 (twenty years ago)

what's the da capo award?

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 00:36 (twenty years ago)

Do you get your heart pumpin' at the gym to Lucinda Williams, Matos?

Alfred Soto (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 00:51 (twenty years ago)

no, Alfred, only to Crazy Frog. also, what is gym?

s1ocki: my mom called me Friday. "You didn't tell me you won an award!" "What are you talking about, Mom?" "This calendar says you're a Da Capo Award winner!" "Uh, that's their fuck-up, Mom. I just had something reprinted in a book they published." something tells me I will be answering this question a lot.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 01:11 (twenty years ago)

Hey Matos, I read your blog from time to time too, how on earth do you listen to all that music, I mean from a time point of view?

shookout (shookout), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 01:51 (twenty years ago)

hey matos, i heard you won an award!

ken taylrr has gone off the internet because of you (ken taylrr), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 02:20 (twenty years ago)

gear (gear), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 02:33 (twenty years ago)

I want to know what the Valentine's Day playlist is, and how many playlists are in the calendar.

lyra (lyra), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 02:49 (twenty years ago)

Has this leaked to Soulseek yet?

ng-unit, Wednesday, 5 October 2005 02:53 (twenty years ago)

Heh, calendar Soulseek! I just ordered it from amazon, so I guess I will get my answer when amazon gets around to shipping it to me.

lyra (lyra), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 02:54 (twenty years ago)

Is "Mr. Kirk's Nightmare" in the book?

Mike O. (Mike Ouderkirk), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 03:04 (twenty years ago)

not a book, a page-a-day desktop calendar. the songs all had to be MP3-purchaseable, so no "Kirk"

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 03:51 (twenty years ago)

I listen to music all the time, Shookout. It's my job.

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 03:54 (twenty years ago)

Do you get some cash money from this, Matos? I could probably use a desk calendar.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 04:08 (twenty years ago)

haha I didn't do it for free!

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 06:13 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but like per-unit cash?

zaxxon25 (zaxxon25), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 10:41 (twenty years ago)

Who is going to be the first person to review this item?

zaxxon25 (zaxxon25), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 10:44 (twenty years ago)

flat rate, not per unit

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:23 (twenty years ago)

So have to hunt all these songs all down myself? Can't the book, like, email them to me or something?

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:45 (twenty years ago)

haha "book"

Matos-Webster Dictionary (M Matos), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:47 (twenty years ago)

the publisher should see if they can partner with itunes to do a special playlist yo!

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:50 (twenty years ago)

That's great Matos!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:58 (twenty years ago)

By "book" I mean "Matos' underlings"

This is a cool idea. There should be an email list that shoots em out, so i don't have to do work.

Whiney G. Weingarten (whineyg), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 19:03 (twenty years ago)

Does anyone else think Matos sold out?

Matos is a sell-out!

shookout (shookout), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

matos stays paid.

strng hlkngtn: what does it mean? (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

Matos, does your calendar include hunky photos of firemen?

Alfred Soto (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

Someone should review this calendar on a page-per-day basis.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:42 (twenty years ago)

Alfred, you expect hunky photos of firemen AND reminders to download Fatboy Slim and Norah Jones, Eminem, Wilco and Lucinda Williams, De La Soul and Yo La Tengo, Moby and Miles Davis and U2's "Beautiful Day"? In one desk calendar? You ungrateful piece of shit.

miccio (miccio), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:44 (twenty years ago)

I hope there are some "misprints" of the calendar where every day lists The Venga Boys - "We Like to Party"!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:46 (twenty years ago)

so what sort of day is good for listening to "beautiful day"? not in my 2006 plskthx.
m.

msp (mspa), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

(iTunes, for example, has sold 150 million songs since its launch in 2002.)

miccio (miccio), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:52 (twenty years ago)

-- miccio (anthonyisrigh...), October 5th, 2005.

I'm so unsatisfied.

Alfred Soto (Alfred Soto), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:53 (twenty years ago)

if you flip the pages quickly, it looks like the ipod silhouette hipster on the lower left corner is dancing!

(i hope)

miccio (miccio), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 20:55 (twenty years ago)

Maybe it's one of the hunky firemen!
