Forgive the self-promo, but: I've just announced this year's NaSoAlMo, a ripoff of NaNoWriMo in which people spend November making a solo album. Write to me if you'd like to sign up for it.

Ha ha, I want to do this! Is that email address real if I take the Spambuster bit out?

Psst: yes it is.

Yay! Glad you're doing this. :-) For those who want to do it the written way:

I'm afraid that if I sign up, I'll actually have to go through with it! Very tempting.

Damnit. I would so do this but I am going to be spending almost all of November out of town on business. If NaSoAlMo were in December or October or any other month...

Perhaps I'll try something "easy" and do all the writing while away and all the recording when I get back on the 26th of November or something crazy like that.

So how's everyone doing?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 3 November 2005 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

3 songs 80% finished, 1 song 60% finished, 2 songs 40% finished, 2 songs 20% finished. Probably should write another one or two to fill it out.

I have written about 4.5 new songs total since I started right at zero o'clock on Nov. 1st. Mind you, that is one complete song and 7 half-done songs.

I am very happy with the one I've finished and pretty excited about the others so far. I'd love to end up with a nice round number like 20 songs, but I'll settle for 10. :)

three weeks pass...
hey I think this is going to have a segment on all things considered in about two hours!

it'll be on your local NPR affiliate at about 5:50 eastern time, assuming they carry all things considered then--if not, then 7:50 eastern.
