the rentals' 10-year anniversary?! jesus i feel old all of a sudden.

― geeta (geeta), Saturday, 29 October 2005 05:46 (twenty years ago)

Yes, 10-year anniversaries make me feel the oldest for some reason, and Return Of The Rentals is certainly no exception.

― billstevejim (billstevejim), Saturday, 29 October 2005 12:34 (twenty years ago)

yeah i remember "friends of p" debuting on the local modern rock station. i was in 8th grade.

― latebloomer (latebloomer), Saturday, 29 October 2005 12:37 (twenty years ago)

i was trying to tell people about "friends of p" about a month ago, talking about the video, singing the chorus, going "c'mon you DEFINITELY know this -- remember? remember!?" and they were all looking at me like i was crzy.

― sean gramophone (Sean M), Saturday, 29 October 2005 12:41 (twenty years ago)

― billstevejim (billstevejim), Saturday, 29 October 2005 12:49 (twenty years ago)

― frenchbloke (frenchbloke), Saturday, 29 October 2005 13:29 (twenty years ago)

i have a soft spot for the bad russian subtitles in the "friends of p" video. that's about all i can say on the matter.

― rap is afraid of me (rip van wanko), Saturday, 7 June 2014 02:52 (twelve years ago)

two months pass...

decent rec

― fuck the tile (electricsound), Thursday, 4 September 2014 03:14 (twelve years ago)

five years pass...

New album is ridic and heaps of fun. Getting serious Loud Family / Gerard Way / Ezra Furman vibes.

The fact that it ends with a seven-minute epic called "Elon Musk is Making Me Sad" is kinda indicative.

― Tim F, Wednesday, 1 July 2020 23:50 (six years ago)

reading reviews of this one makes it clear I've been sleeping on The Rentals and should rectify this

― k*r*n koltrane (Simon H.), Thursday, 2 July 2020 02:56 (six years ago)

God I bopped that first album. I remember literally jumping around my apartment.

Gonna check it out obv
