Melbourne NYE - K House?

Hey if I'm in Melbourne in NYE this year, what's the best party to hear the new "ketamine house" or psycro or whatever you want to call it? You know what I mean ...the different varieties of post-Villalobos electro/micro/prog crossover stuff that people on ilx write about all the time. Is Plastikman at the Metro my best bet? ( I haven't liked his old DE9 or minimal stuff - I don't like the Thomas Brinkmann style of minimalism)...
Or are there any better alternatives?

hawtin is your best bet, yes. the latest de9 is what i expected the villalobos fabric mix to sound like!

The new DE9 is very different from Brinkmann minimalism I think... it's all weird, and gliding, smoothly rounded edges and I'm better off just linking the thread it was last discussed on - Richie Hawtin for now.

I'm not even sure if I like it anymore at the moment! This is probably because I could barely not listen to it for three days straight! It's Amazingly addictive, but I've given it a rest for the moment, I probably haven't burnt out, just let it get too familiar with overexposure.

If this DE9 is like the stuff you want to hear, maybe you should try to hear it & see if you like it first (probably as easy as searching google and finding someones abandoned free upload service link).

can't believe I've booked to go to Europe for NYE and all the good djs appear to have come to asiapac. sod's fucking law.
