Recommend hard-edged psychedelia to me

isn't cutting it for me. i want the softer, more pop side of things. I really like Love, some West Coast pop Art, a bit of Donovan, so things in that sort of vein.

obv not necessarily from the 60's, although i do like that sound. thank yoU!

This might get a little too soft for you, but there's a lot of good stuff here:

that thread looks good, but yeah, perhaps a little too soft? I aint looking for flower power ballads, but I guess the more introspective side of things instead of say, Soft machine or Butthole surfers.

Second the motion on Strawberry Alarm Clock. If you've only ever heard "Incense and Peppermints," check out "Sit With The Guru" and "Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow."

Also, Dukes of Stratosphear.

If you want to dig a little deeper, I'd recommend the "Jeff Moore and Friends" LP. Rare Canadian folk that's really sweet and mellow.

Also, a real delight is the Mick Stevens stuff. The tracks with a band get a little more psych/rockin' but the acoustic ones are laid back melodious bliss.

Despite its relatively unpsychedelic cover, the Clientele's latest does an excellent job of channeling the lighter side of late 60's pop-psych:

Personal faves of mine, the Green Pajamas have been making excellent, mostly under-the-radar neo-psychedelic mini-masterpieces for over 20 years now.

Hoboken's the Special Pillow are to neo-psych what Dump is top indie rock. If that doesn't scare you, you should definitely check 'em out.

Also, lots of the Elephant 6 bands (I'm thinking, especially, of Beulah, the Essex Green & Of Montreal) would probably fit your bill.
