In case no one knows the story, that was the most revered of the wooden churches that Burzum (allegedly) burned down

this album came with a square of sandpaper glued to the front and back so that it would actually "destroy" records it was stored next to. the cd reissue has sandpaper glued to the front of the jewel case, i think.

Seriously though, the Scorpions one wins the thread, for real. At least Blind Faith was attempting to be artistic. I wonder who the girl was? One of their kids? Yikes.

toilet paper is expensive, and it is running short, and the shoes are shit anyway, so...

Most tasteless?
Hmmm, I dunno - I haven't tasted it!

Ohmigod, that Beastality album! I remember a couple of us found that at KLA in 1990 or something and were horrified. Who the hell were they again?

Edward III (edward iii), Thursday, 2 March 2006 15:53 (nineteen years ago)

It seems worth mentioning, while I'm suppressing my desire to scream and puke at the same time after seeing that Big Black cover, that the sandpaper-sleeve idea was originally done by the Durutti Column, who in turn took the idea from one of Guy deBord's books, which was bound in sandpaper.

I was really hoping this thread was going to be about bands performing tasteless covers of other acts.

owennnnnnnnnn, Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:08 (nineteen years ago)

Hey, mod - I think that other thread The most tasteless cover of all time. (music covers). was supposed to mean aurally, not visually. Like Roseanne Barr singing the National Anthem.

Dave will do (dave225.3), Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:22 (nineteen years ago)

"I was really hoping this thread was going to be about bands performing tasteless covers of other acts."

i started it but it was deleted for some reason...

saturn5, Thursday, 2 March 2006 16:22 (nineteen years ago)

1. Gun club - run through the jungle - also the worst track in the great "miami" lp.
2.uncle tupelo - i wanna be your dog - just stupid.

3. pussy galore - exile on main st. - at half of it is shit.the other is just a mess.

Edward III (edward iii), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:17 (nineteen years ago)

ned, the thread you locked was about cover versions, not album covers. it's different.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Thursday, 2 March 2006 17:18 (nineteen years ago)

That Big Black cover is even more garish + grisly when you actually have it in front of you (the hi-res record cover, that is, not someone with their head split open, which I assume trumps both)...

Be happy that this Waco Jesus CD cover is so small. It is the only one I ever censored before putting it out to sell:

And all you fans of Lords Of Chaos know the story behind this infamous album cover:

not as horrific as big black/mayhem/whatever else, but the fact that someone actually took the time to make an evil little penis out of latex or whatever...

1. This reminds me of my rotten.com years once again.

2. I know someone who fucked his g/f up the ass with a hammer once, which that record cover upthread reminded me of. Not something I like to think about. Thanks.
