Lester "Roadhog" Moran and the Cadillac Cowboys - The Complete Lester Moran and the Cadillac Cowboys

In my house the colorful lexicon of Lester Moran is commonplace: "Miiiighty Fine," "Haawwwwww right!" "Where is your brother? 'He's drying out Hog' 'Hohhh, we can't be saying that on the radio.'" I would wager a guess that this is the greatest country music/1970's AM radio/Nasheville satire album ever released.

The best description is at AMG, but basically this is the Stadler Brothers peforming Saturday morning radio shows, a live concert at the Johnny Mack Brown High School (originally on a 1974 album of the same name), an audition tape of their hometown residents in Rainbow Valley, and interviews with Ralph Emery, as a up-and-coming local country music band in the South.

C or D? Or has anyone heard it?

Classic! "Good ol' country music."

no way, roadhog is AMAZING. there's never been anything like it! one of the exceptional things about it is that it's got to be REALLY hard to play your instruments that badly. i've tried and it's impossible to imitate i believe. i played this for my friends 4 or 5 years ago and nobody got it. but my dad and i used to get stoned to it and laugh like crazy. perhaps it's just one of those things.

one year passes...

I think the more knowledge you have of basic country music facts -- just how badly they're fucking up the (super well-known) songs, or how they get Johnny Cash's branch of service wrong despite claiming to have known him then -- the funnier this is.

Also classic: the photo inside the CD booklet of their plywood-album award.

Which they're proudly accepting!
