We may not be able to YSI musics on ILM anymore, but that doesn't mean we can't...

...request tracks on this thread or tell the board what we're looking for in one central place and then hopefully other readers will send the track to the requester via ELECTRONIC MAIL, or send them the YSI link directly - all done at people's own discretion.

only rules/firm suggestions for now are:

try not to repeat a request you've already made yourself. others may be requesting the same track, or you can request the same track someone else has already requested - but if you haven't received it after just a few hours, repeating the request will just clog up the thread. give it a day or two at least.

ooooh dj shadow's 'lost and found' plz

i lost an ebay auction the other night for this. £16.55 it went for.

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 14:19 (nineteen years ago)

iirc it was a lavelle-pleasing £7 *on release*, which this paperboy's funds would not stretch to.

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 14:19 (nineteen years ago)

does anyone have Prima Materia - Tail of the Tiger? I'd very much like to hear some of that; I can't even find a tracklisting online, and as interesting as the descriptions make it sound, I'll be damned if I'm gonna spend 22 bucks on an album without hearing a single track.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 14:32 (nineteen years ago)

Funny, but no mention of "YSI" in the FAQ.

Shoes say, yeah, no hands clap your good bra. (goodbra), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 14:32 (nineteen years ago)

any request fulfilling i may or may not do personally can only be done in the BST/GMT evening times, i should point out.

this is how the old YSI threads started off really and it did risk confusion. but if people do receive what they ask for perhaps they can just post 'request for X fulfilled thanks' here and hopefully it won't clog things too much, or they can just risk being sent the same file/link multiple times which isn't actually that big a deal when it comes down to it.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 14:33 (nineteen years ago)

I'll certainly help where I can if anyone requests anything I've got.

My requests are for the following purely because they go for ridiculous amounts of money on ebay or have never seen them get officially released....

1. Ginny - Can't be serious
2. Carol & Snowy Red - Breakdown
3. Justus Kohnke - Wichita lineman

Any help on these hugely HUGELY appreciated!

Simon Carr (simon.thisisnotanexit), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 15:38 (nineteen years ago)

i'm looking for:

St. Etienne - The Official Saint Etienne World Cup Theme
Chubb Rock - Keep It Street (or wherever the "children come and women produce and men go to work and some go steal it" vocal later sampled on 'Jenny From The Block' first came from)

if anyone can help thanks

Konal Doddz (blueski), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 20:43 (nineteen years ago)

Ginny's Can't Be Serious is soon to be/is reissued by Flexx, backed with that other female sung new wave pop cosmic classic, Mystery Man by Clive Stevens...

Dan Selzer (Dan Selzer), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 20:52 (nineteen years ago)

Hurray, a solution! The past few weeks of ILM just haven't felt the same... Has this all been discussed with mods so it won't be deleted on a whim? If so, I hereby declare to help out with any requests where and how I can. Though, like Stevem I'll only be able to help on evenings and weekends.

That new Rex The Dog remix of 'Marble House' by the Knife is very good btw. Any takers?

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 21:02 (nineteen years ago)

Also, can I suggest that any Providers leave a msg on here saying they're sending it over so any Searchers can email them privately or something and so not clog up the thread with 'me too's? Or is that unworkable?

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 21:04 (nineteen years ago)

Yes please Affectian, I'd love to hear that. If you could Gmail it, it would be ace. Ta.

j0e (j0e), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 21:06 (nineteen years ago)

Has this all been discussed with mods so it won't be deleted on a whim?

No but there's no reason to delete this thread as long as no links to files are posted here.

While I'm here I'll have that Knife remix off you an' all cheers!

Konal Doddz (blueski), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 21:46 (nineteen years ago)

please to gmail that knife remix, affectation!

gear (gear), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 21:49 (nineteen years ago)

Hey j0e! I owe you a mail too but it's nearly bedtime so I'll do that later in the week. Is a YSI link to the Knife track ok? This means it can be re-used by a dozen others so it's probly best.

Stevem, I ask because around the time of the Great ILX YSI Thread Loss of 2006 a bunch of the link-less threads talking about similar things were deleted by wayward mods, but fingers crossed this holds out. (PS. your Bowie boot went down an absolute storm on Friday AGAIN, it's fast becoming our anthem).

I'll pass a YSI over to both of youse two. If anyone else wants it maybe it'd be best to ask you two, so it's like a daisy chain of love and gratitude?

xpost, Gear, you're getting fuck all til you spell my name correctly.

Affectian (Affectian), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 21:58 (nineteen years ago)

Chubb Rock - Keep It Street (or wherever the "children come and women produce and men go to work and some go steal it" vocal later sampled on 'Jenny From The Block' first came from)

this is from 20th Century Steel Band - Heaven and Hell is on Earth. i'll email to you, GANGSTA

jäxøñ (jaxon), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 21:59 (nineteen years ago)

i'm lookin for a digital copy of Muddy Water's "Bottom the Sea" from the Cadet album After the Rain

jäxøñ (jaxon), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 22:09 (nineteen years ago)

cool Affectian. just to be on the safe side i'd keep mention of YSI to an absolute minimum on this thread itself. i'm an ILM mod anyway now fwiw.

xpost - thanks for that track jaxon

Konal Doddz (blueski), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

(PS. your Bowie boot went down an absolute storm on Friday AGAIN, it's fast becoming our anthem).

I just hope you're doing all the right hand movements to make it look as if you're pulling it off live.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 22:21 (nineteen years ago)

Ok, I'll keep all that type of chatter confined to emails.

I just sent the track to you three's (j0e, Steve, gear) gmail accounts, let me know if it hasn't arrived.

xpost, hah, completely no comment whatsoever. That slowy down bit sounds so great but I hate it for showing me up to be the charlatan wot i am.

I'm just impatient!

If the Rex mix is longer than the 3:09 version I have, I'll take it (Ian, you should've just sent it to me regardless - tutu tut!).

this is from 20th Century Steel Band - Heaven and Hell is on Earth.

I'd be totally up for this as well, please.

jäxøñ (jaxon), Thursday, 1 June 2006 19:35 (nineteen years ago)

Bah, sorry Barms I've only got the 3:09 version of the Knife track too (I did think it ended suddenly) - does anyone have the full-length? Though I do have the 20th Century Steel Band track (and album) if you and Steve still want that?

Steve can you forward that St Etienne track onto me too?

Lex, you want the Knife track off me or has someone else sorted you out?

Does anyone have the Richard X remix of 'The Crush' by Annie? There's a disused YSI link floating about the internet so it must be out there somewhere, mad keen to hear it.

If anyone's emailing me, then it's @hotmail.com (obv).

Over the weekend I'll mail a big list of all the recent corking tracks I've come across since the YSI threads died so people can choose from them, if anyone else fancies doing the same then that'd be just dandy. I'm interested in hearing ny *new* electro/popppy/indie stuff that has blown people away lately.

Affectian (Affectian), Thursday, 1 June 2006 21:12 (nineteen years ago)

(if anyone is forwarding some mp3s onto me, it'd be better to use club.clique@gmail.com as it'll make it easier to forward them onto other people but this hotmail one is fine too)

Affectian (Affectian), Thursday, 1 June 2006 21:15 (nineteen years ago)

alanbanana, just noticed your Sylvester request, are you still looking for it? FANTASTIC song, my favourite Sylvester track. I'll pass it onto you if wish.

Affectian (Affectian), Thursday, 1 June 2006 21:17 (nineteen years ago)

hey, Affectian, i sent stevem that 20th century track. how's the rest of the album? worth hearing? if so gnarls.in.charge@gmail.com

davelus (davelus), Friday, 2 June 2006 03:20 (nineteen years ago)

Jason, it's been a while since I listened to it. I'll check it out again this weekend and send you a YSI of the whole album (or a cpl of choice tracks).

Affectian (Affectian), Friday, 2 June 2006 06:44 (nineteen years ago)

herman nijhuis (herman), Friday, 2 June 2006 13:03 (nineteen years ago)

This thread made me wonder (because he's not here, yet, to tell us that what we're doing here is WRONG): whatever happened with Derek "Mickey" Borchardt's sentence? It was due in May, remember?

Well, what happened is reported here. On May 19th three music pirates were up for sentence at the same time. They all got different sentences:

Hayes (criminal copyright infringement): 15 months in prison.
Jones (conspiracy to commit copyright infringement): 6 months in prison.
Borchardt (exactly the same crime as Jones): 6 months home confinement.

We can only assume that Mickey's lighter sentence is due to the fact that he was harrassing us -- and people like us -- for most of the year, telling us that filesharing is WRONG. His silence now is due to the fact that he no longer has to do that to impress some judge. He got what he wanted. And now we can get on with getting what we want.

I'll say it again: the music industry, if it ever ends, will end because of lawsuits against ordinary civilians, not because of music sharing.

Momus (Momus), Friday, 2 June 2006 13:40 (nineteen years ago)

I'm looking for Take a Chance, I'm the One and Time Out from Material's One Down, as my vinyl copy is scratched on those tracks beyond repair... (The other tracks too, if anyone would be so kind, because the hissing and popping makes me cry a little).

js (honestengine), Friday, 2 June 2006 15:01 (nineteen years ago)

Ok, just sent the following:

YSI of Material 'One Down' album to honestengine
Knife vs Rex mp3 (3 min version) to etc / Lex / herman
YSI of 20th Century Steel Band album to jaxon / stevem / barms
YSI of Sylvester track to alanbanana

If anyone else wants any of the above, mail me on this hotmail address and I'll forward the links.

I'm still looking for:
The Richard X remix of Annie's 'The Crush'
That Pipettes 'Your guitars are wasted on me' b-side
The St Etienne football track
And any other recent poppy electro dancefloor-stomping tracks please!!

Other stuff I've found recently that I like:
'Memorabilia' from the non-stop ecstatic dancing album by Soft Cell (which is ASTOUNDING, I'm going to start a thread about Cindy Ecstasy v soon)
Christian Falk Feat Robyn & Ol - 'Dream On (Radio Edit)'
The Nevins Electrotek edit of 'SOS'

But I know I'm missing a bunch of great stuff from the past few months and beyond, please help out. Have any other Rich X tracks leaked, particularly the ex-Mis-teeq girl ones?

Affectian (Affectian), Saturday, 3 June 2006 14:46 (nineteen years ago)

i don't quite get your second point.

Konal Doddz (blueski), Wednesday, 7 June 2006 11:32 (nineteen years ago)

I have that 'Screwed' track, I'll hunt it out later in the week and send it over Marmotd00d. I've also got Nicole Richie's 'Dandelion' which is a real piece of shit, but worth hearing just so you can say you have. I'll also stick all the YSI links I've been emailing about on that forum (unless anyone suggests not to for whatever reason).

dog latin (dog latin), Sunday, 9 July 2006 12:20 (nineteen years ago)

Brilliant, thanks Marmot for pointing me toward the JT. I'm liking it a little but it's paling next to the new Xtina. For now, anyhow.

As for 'Strangelove', not sure if Morley did much duties - did he get involved in the nuts of bolts of ZTT tracks? Would love to know more though.

I apologise for being the lame duck of this thread at the moment but I've stuck all above requests in my wishlist and will check Limewire when I'm highspeed internetted up again. In the meantime if someone could mail me mp3s of '500' by Bertine Zetlitz (saw a bit of the video stream and WOW) and "Samantha" by Margaret Berger (as mentioned by Geir on the same thread) that'd be great.

PS. The new Cat5 album has some awesome tracks on, I'll throw the best at some gmails sometime soon.
