BRIAN ENO : POO

is someone gonna make the inevitable "you know why it's called here come the warm jets, right??" comment? (oh wait, i just did.)

"the fat lady of limbourg" was one of my mixtape staples for a while.

Hmm, I've changed my ambient pick since then.

LC (Damian), Thursday, 10 August 2006 09:51 (nineteen years ago)

Another vote for "The Big Ship."

Jim M (jmcgaw), Thursday, 10 August 2006 11:24 (nineteen years ago)

Not deeply versed in Eno, so it's good to know that Blank Frank is probably as good as I'm going to find.

-- bendy (bend...), August 9th, 2006.

"Blank Frank" gets the bannana 'cause its his heaviest, most bizarro song - but it could just as easily be "Here Come The Warm Jets", "Baby's On Fire", "Third Uncle", etc etc etc. Those first four Eno albums are freakin' treasure troves.

Edward III (edward iii), Thursday, 10 August 2006 13:02 (nineteen years ago)

"Here Come the Warm Jets" (the song), on headphones, at maximum (all caps) volume, as the plane takes off.

Adam Beales (Pye Poudre), Thursday, 10 August 2006 13:15 (nineteen years ago)

Brian Eno these days is poo.

Recently did a great job producing Paul Simon's best album in ages though.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Thursday, 10 August 2006 14:01 (nineteen years ago)

To listen: "Regiment" (okay it's an Eno/Byrne song, but just amazing), although most days I'd pick "No One Receiving" or "Seven Deadly Finns." To play in a band: "The True Wheel"!!!

POO -- Brian Eno
-- xyzzzz__ (juli...), August 10th, 2006 3:23 AM. (jdesouza) (tracklink) (later)

i tried to search, i swear!! but title searching "eno" crashes the server and i don't know where the POO threads are filed!!

JABBA JABBA!! NIB NIB!! (vahid), Thursday, 10 August 2006 14:54 (nineteen years ago)

I'm sure you tried, just linked as my answer is on there and hasn't changed. I think any regular (unless you're Roger Adultery) would've carried out a search. 'Brian Eno' works as anything less than 4 letters cannot be searched for. if you wanted to searched for a thread on yes or OMD or zz top I'd probably type in an album name/big hit song title.

Another Eno list thread:

"Julie with..." or anything off Before and After Science really for that matter, especially the later half.

Julie with..." or anything off Before and After Science really for that matter, especially the later half.

I had a total Before & After Science attack about a week ago, I got so excited all of a sudden, I called my friend and told him to just get that record and it was pretty much all the essential Eno he needed. Then I felt bad and started thinking of Warm Jets and gave him another call to qualify matters.

Kiss My Grits! (Bimble...), Saturday, 12 August 2006 00:35 (nineteen years ago)

Okay but we all know my pick for "Pick Only One" is Spider & I by now. I'm not here to bore anyone and don't want to repeat myself, but now this thread has made me do it, as it comes so soon after the Spider & I Brian Eno thread that was doing the rounds not long ago.

Kiss My Grits! (Bimble...), Saturday, 12 August 2006 00:39 (nineteen years ago)

My vote is for "The Belldog" or "By This River", with Cluster, though
if it weren't for the overreliance on programmed percussion, "Spinning Away" would probably take it all.

Joe (Joe), Saturday, 12 August 2006 02:24 (nineteen years ago)

"Belldog" and "Spinning Away" are both fantastic, easily in my top ten.
