Is it true that The Fall are featured in a Mitsubishi ad on US TV?

Someone who may or may not know his music told me that the Fall are played in the background of a Mitsubishi ad on US TV currently. I don't watch TV so I need your help, ILM. Is he on crack?

They are, song is "Blindness". It was mentioned on that recently around Fall thread about "Fall Heads Roll", I think.

As my dad used to say - "Thanks Much!"

I think I might have actually read that, but forgot I had read it.

Also I would really like to know what people think John Peel might have thought that his favourite band was in a Mitsubishi ad.

probably something like "Car commercials are rubbish but anytyhing that gets the music of The Fall out there can't be all bad."

IIRC Peel did voiceovers for an insurance advert in the UK...

"touch sensitive" was, of course, used in a UK car advert a couple of years back - a slightly annoying one with anthropomorphic vauxhall corsas playing hide-and-seek. it worked well, actually.

"blindness" is perhaps my favourite fall song of recent years (oddly, i was "singing" the bassline 20 minutes ago while i was making coffee) and i drive a mitsubishi, so i can't really get upset by this ;)

as for peel: he did voiceovers for everything - even bog roll.

i mean, a dude's gotta eat. even MES. although i imagine he eats only cheap sausage rolls. and cigarettes.

bloody hell, i've changed my tune since this thread. marcello is obviously a very strong influence!

More like a dude's gotta drink. This'll fund a few trips to the boozer for MES.

And to think Australian advertisements for Mitsubishi have yer standard shitty Beatles covers... :-(

Mark's only line in the ad is "I WAS WALKING DOWN THE STREET, I SAW A POSTER." ha. He famously doesn't drive!

Grimly that thread you linked to is hilarious. 12XU in a coffee ad! What an idea! Hell with that, they should put Totally Wired in a coffee ad! I also love your last post about marketing people. I had to suffer through Marketing class in school about a year and a half ago and it was not fun.

i still have to suffer them at work :(
