The Brainwasher (Twilight), Friday, 26 January 2007 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

there was a song posted on pitchfork.

it was pretty good.

like every song by them ever, i wish they were just an instrumental band and didn't have d-bag on lead vox.

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 26 January 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

better or worse album title than god fodder?

LO-NRG (teenagequiet), Friday, 26 January 2007 17:29 (eighteen years ago)

there's a local band in st louis called "godfodder." they kind of want to be minor threat.

The title track that leads off the new album is just about the funkiest rock song I've ever heard.

And I like their singer, but I understand why people have problems: My brother, who is pretty knowledgeable about music, when I played "Louden Up Now" for him, he was nonplussed and said it sounded like Nitzer Ebb.

Join in the chant!

Couple of years ago, when I first saw/heard them, I had to be persuaded that the singer wasn't Beck. :-/

the songs that john xi sings on are the only good ones. off the new album, 'sweet life' is really good!

I was prepared to hate this but I'm, for the moment, quite impressed. Favorites: "Must Be The Moon" and "Break in Case of Anything."

the songs that john xi sings on

Is that the dude who usually plays the trap set? I saw him sing "Shitscheissemerde Pt. 2" and he has a sweet falsetto.

Woo new !!!, excellent. They're touring in Aus in march, I've been hanging to see them live forever.

Trayce (trayce), Saturday, 27 January 2007 00:43 (eighteen years ago)

ike every song by them ever, i wish they were just an instrumental band and didn't have d-bag on lead vox.

OTM. I remember buying their first CD on a whim by the short description I read on some mail order catalog. I figured they would disappear into obscurity, to be frank. It's weird how wrong I was. I sold it pretty quickly. They really could be good without that singer.

here's my review:

good album, but it's not God Fodder. Gotta love the name Neds Atomic Dustbin as well.

Joshua Glazer (matthewcampari), Saturday, 27 January 2007 02:20 (eighteen years ago)

... comparing !!! to the Neds is about the weirdest thing I've ever heard.

I'm liking this album a lot so far. Title track is reminiscent of "Infected" era theThe (replete with sotto voce muttering instead of singing). Then he gets back into the ranting after that - but I like his style, even though I know it grates for some people.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 28 January 2007 00:22 (eighteen years ago)

Ned's Atomic Dustbin oh god. That's a piece of my history I find I conveniently forget. I'd like to hear some of them right now, though.

Lick The Strobelight Lollipops (Bimble...), Sunday, 28 January 2007 03:54 (eighteen years ago)

There's Actual Singing on some of the tracks on this album. My bf (who doesn't like the singer) even walked in and said "wtf, is that !!! - is he SINGING?".

"Heart of Hearts" is almost Happy Mondays handbag houseish, with its bombastic female backing vox. Bit unexpected, but good!

"I figured they would disappear into obscurity, to be frank. It's weird how wrong I was."

----I think there's still time man
