The new Wagon Christ album "Musipal" is very nice.

Destroy anything by Plug. Drill and Bass is always terrible.

Robin, Friday, 4 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I thought {{{{Throbbing Pouch}}}} was much overrated, especially by Simon Reynolds. It probably required much inhaling of marijuana fumes to be fully appreciated, but I wouldn't know about such criminal behaviour.

Johnathan, Friday, 4 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I must speak up for _Throbbing Pouch_ here -- it's a treat. Even without marijuana smoke clouding the air.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 4 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

Search: Throbbing Pouch (but not all of it, I got the double vinyl and I really hate the 4th side). Also good: those 2 Plug 12-inches on one cd thingy (that shit before D'n B for Daddy).

Destroy: "D 'n B for Daddy". Not very good.

luke vibert is the runt of the post-aphex litter...

although mikey paradinas and his planet mu cronies have been making a play for that position for a while now.

gareth, Sunday, 6 May 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

I'd say Vibert is quite overrated imho. His stuff is okay but he gets compared to Aphex, Mu-Ziq, Squarepusher and they are all way better. Vibert rates with lesser acts like Cylob etc imho (though these aren't so bad in themselvs).

ì-Ziq's 'Bilious Paths'

and for Luke Vibert, search Wagon Christ's 'Ataride' and there are several good tracks on the 'Tally Ho' album

throbbing pouch is fuckin genius. it's not idm. it's goth hip hop. SCRAPES is plain evil.

and the title track... i could listen to that song over and over and not get bored.

I love Drum n Bass for Papa, and I'm surprised to see calls for its destruction.

Phat-Lab Nightmare, Risselecki EP and Throbbing Pouch are all classics. A Polished Solid on Mo Wax is excellent. Big Soup has moments of beauty and after that, i quite caring. The Plug track, A Subtle Blend is one of my favorite DnB tunes ever. The baseline that drops after about 5mins is probably my single favorite moment from that genre. He's a smelly hippy though. Seriously, i chatted with him when he played with Krush in 98 and he smelled like a crusty hippy.

biznotic, Friday, 15 April 2005 00:49 (twenty years ago)

oh, i smoked a joint with him!

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 15 April 2005 01:08 (twenty years ago)

he referred to it as "top gear"
