Are you talking about Pharcyde's "Your Mama" ?

Rahul Kamath (Rahul Kamath), Wednesday, 2 October 2002 16:52 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't think it was the Pharcyde. It was played a lot on the Video Jukebox here in Philadelphia (no idea if that still exists as a channel), probably not later than 1992, but then I never heard it again ever. It had a chorus of little kids singing "Your mother smokes crack [and some more word]" running through it and at the end a little girl's voice says something like, "Please don't smoke crack, momma, the kids are teasing me." Something like that. I'm sure I have the details wrong.

If it's the one from "The Bizarre Ride II," that's definitely not it, because I even own that CD, oddly enough.

"Your Momma's On Crack Rock" "Uh-uh, My Momma's in rehab"! I Loved That Song!! I also used to watch that on the Jukebox and I was stunned every time. That was a great channel. They would play "Hair or Weave" by Bobby Jimmy and the Critters and "The Cars That Go Boom" by L'Trimm constantly. I have also never been able to find a copy. It's a great addition to the nursery rhyme genre of pop. I was recently without cable and found to my surprise that their is a 24 hour video channel in Philly that plays nothing but hardcore/dirty south/little known videos that would never ever get played on cable. Naam Brigade up the yingyang. It's VHF so you can only get it if you unhook your cable. Philly still rocks ya just gotta lift more rocks to find the rock-slinging rock blocks.I gotta search google and ebay for that song now.

"Donnie D's on the back up
Drug free... so put the crack up!"

I loved this song, but I never bothered asking about it in case it was just me who remembered.

"Your Momma's On Crack Rock" "Uh-uh, My Momma's in rehab"!

That has to be the one.

You know, I'm not sure that it's a coincidence that I lost interest in hip-hop (not that this song I brought up is particularly hip-hop) around the time I stopped having access to cable tv. I remember really enjoying a lot of videos.

I do remember some sort of ridiculous song and video about hair weaves.
