I'm not entirely happy with my new "Rockist Scientist." I wish I had started a thread like this before changing names. I don't like using a name which has too much of a particular character to it. I don't want something I have to live up to or live down. The rockist jokes are pretty played out, but I kept thinking of the phrase "rockist scientist" and laughing.

The internet brings out my impulsiveness (as well as compulsiveness).

I was thinking of "Charlie Carlos."

I wasn't happy with *e****i, because it made me too easy to identify at a glance.

i claimed ned's brilliant "ninja of the obvious" awhile back but never used it - someone ought to.

"Rockist Scientist" grew on me once i realized who it was. i like madam plinky too - try w.no caps!! (this worked for me temporarily but now i'm back to hating my handle too - experimenting now with the less-smug-yet-utterly-unimaginative "jones"). Roger if you're changing your first name, be Hugo. HUGO!! and Custos you be vlad and Julio can be Pascal and mark can be Mnemnor V. (michael can stay michael but only if Dom and Tom switch)

look the name Hugo is bloody marvelous - it's the exception to all this "no intrinsic value" talk and you'll take it and like it if you know what's good for you. next person to give me any sass gets named after that welsh village with all the consonants and isn't allowed to set their computer to remember it for them
