Best Seat In The House?

This season will mark the 26th straight (hopefully) that i've been to a ballyard to see a game. the prospect of purchasing tickets prompted me to think about where to sit which then got me to thinking where the best seats i ever had were. or rather, the best seats i will probably be able to afford this year (i'll probably never see the inside of the 600 club at fenway again or get 4th row behind homeplate either). where do YOU like to sit, oh faithful ILB'er?

Ideally the best seats for me are behind home plate (between the 1st and 3rd base lines) usually on the second level. I like a little altitude because while being down close to the field/players is really nice, I think the perspective of watching pitches move, watching flight paths of balls fly off the bat, and seeing a greater portion of the park is my preference.

When I was a kid we used to try to sit in the front row of the upper deck at Three Rivers along the third base line. I think the tickets were $6.50. So somehow I feel more comfortable on the third base side than the first. But I guess I don't really care that much (unless you can't see one of the outfielders or something)--there's plenty to look at if you know the game.

Re Shea: I've only been there once (and when I got out of my car there was a guy pissing in the row in front of me), but I think that APART FROM THE AIRCRAFT it gets a bad rap. I sat way up high behind home. Sure, it's no palace, but it's got a nice grass field, it's got the apple, what else do you need? Except for that it's the Mets, I guess...

My mom uses a wheelchair, and last year I realized that I should take my mom to more games. You get your own little roped-off section, and the sight lines are good.

maybe this is cal bias, but i've always been fond of upper deck, lower rows, 3rd base side, shallow left.

My favorite seats are in the outfield, esp. the level below the Home Run Porch at the Ballpark in Arlington. If you're going to watch an afternoon game during the summer, that's the only choice that makes sense.

The best seats I've ever had were front row just past third base for Nolan Ryan's last no-hitter at Arlington Stadium.
