are the "Hide images" links less forgiving than regular parser?

I turned on "Hide Images" when at work, and a small number of images get replaced with links that don't work.

e.g. these two on It's APRIL 2006: What do you look like, FOOLS? :

i didn't photoshop this... my cameraphone is just that bad!

These two posters used IMG SRC, but not the " around the URL.
The images are on the page just fine when I turn off that "hide images" setting.

Is the "hide images" code more strict than the regular code or is this what that "this may corrupt certain messages" disclaimer is saying?

(or: is this a genuine bug or a stupid question?)

Yeah it clips the g off the ".jpg" - always wondered what caused that.

the hide images code is a bit shit. not generic enough. the submit post parser could help cleaning up some too.
