OH MY GOD THERE'S A BEER NAMED AFTER ME!!!

That image wasn't as big on the website I nicked it from! COuld you please remove it, coz it's actually on the page that I link to anyway...

People love Gravity and Evolution! (kate), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 15:01 (twenty-one years ago)

The image is actually pretty small, file-size wise, so bandwidth isn't too much a problem. If you're mainly concerned about the physical size I can still remove it for you.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 15:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, it's the physical size, cause everyone thought it was a JW thread.

OK, and this is a grey area, but I'm going to ask, you can tell me if it's an out of order request.

JW is now posting as a copycat parody of my current screen name. Yeah, it's not exactly identity theft, but it's still pretty irritating. It's in that nebulous grey area between identity theft and copycatism and it's kind of bothering me. Would I be within my rights to ask him to change it?

People love Gravity and Evolution! (kate), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I just find this a little bit out of order:

OH MY GOD THERE'S A BEER NAMED AFTER ME!!!

People love Gravity and Evolution! (kate), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 15:15 (twenty-one years ago)

The name or his comment?

I think you're completely within your rights to say something to him, but it's probably not realistic to expect much...my guess is that stirring it would just make it worse. The parody name is probably fair use, if annoying, so long as it stays contained and doesn't become constant harassment.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 15:20 (twenty-one years ago)

By the way, I kept the image but resized it back to the size on the original site, since the filesize is small.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Remember that pot we have for collecting money for a hit man? Can I contribute about £1000, please?

People love Gravity and Evolution! (kate), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 15:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I just removed his stupid image, too.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 15:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Cheers! And thanks for the resize, too!

People love Gravity and Evolution! (kate), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Well a ferry ride to Rochester is $55, we could outfit Sean in a trenchcoat for another $50...

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 17:22 (twenty-one years ago)

you people are sick.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 20:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I mentioned it on the thread in question, but I'll add here that the reason I at least thought Kate was JW at first was because Kate had picked a JW-esque screen name, not because JW went and parodied it.

Casuistry (Chris P), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 21:25 (twenty-one years ago)

FUCK YALL

JON W (orion), Wednesday, 23 June 2004 22:11 (twenty-one years ago)

if anyone is harassing anyone, it is Kate harping on how much she hates me constantly.

People love Gravity and Ebullition! (ex machina), Thursday, 24 June 2004 12:54 (twenty-one years ago)

That would be all of us harping on. Don't give Kate all the credit.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 24 June 2004 13:06 (twenty-one years ago)

You seem fixated.

People love Gravity and Ebullition! (ex machina), Thursday, 24 June 2004 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

On teletype?

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 24 June 2004 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

"all of us" - what do you mean "we," whitey?

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 24 June 2004 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

If the scope is apparent I consider it your problem.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Thursday, 24 June 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

HA

The level of narcissism implicit in this argument just utterly astonishes me.

Someone is constantly irritated and annoyed by the same irritating and annoying behaviour = "he/she is obsessed with me" rather than "I'm repeatedly rubbing my shit in someone's face". It's a classic symptom of mental illness, isn't it?

Damn, too bad we're rumbled on that assasination plot. Curses, foiled again! And we would have got away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids! ::shakes fist::

He wants to be me (kate), Friday, 25 June 2004 07:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Next time we'll know to get ninjas.

Mr Noodles (Mr Noodles), Friday, 25 June 2004 11:09 (twenty-one years ago)

They've been pulling at your rubber Sloan mask for ten minutes now, Noodles, and it still won't come off, dammit!

He wants to be me (kate), Friday, 25 June 2004 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

reprehensible.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 25 June 2004 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

The sad thing is that while Kate is correct, so is Jon.

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 25 June 2004 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate, being annoyed by jon != constantly talking about how much you hate someone

(also, since when have you hated me sooooo much?)

xpost

PS - I am toning down the images

People love Gravity and Ebullition! (ex machina), Friday, 25 June 2004 13:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Excuse me, but could you please find where I bring up the word "hate"?

Constantly saying that someone is irritating me when THEY ARE, INDEED, CONSTANTLY IRRITATING ME is hardly hate. Stop the irritating behaviour, and the complaints will accordingly stop. That would seem to me to be quite simple logic.

He wants to be me (kate), Friday, 25 June 2004 13:48 (twenty-one years ago)

uh, you hate me!

People love Gravity and Ebullition! (ex machina), Friday, 25 June 2004 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

not as much as I hate McLusky

People love Gravity and Ebullition! (ex machina), Friday, 25 June 2004 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Could you have this conversation over email?

VengaDan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 25 June 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

ok bye!
