I picked up the first issue of this today, but I haven't read it yet. Judging by the intro text, I am going to be confused. Is this coming out of some Ultimate FF/Ultimates 2 crossover? or just one of those titles particularly? cuz i might wanna read the backstory, even ghough those are titles i do not ordinarily read.

i love galactus. i'm glad he's getting the attention he deserves in the ultimate-verse. interesting fact: joking about galactus is one of the significant factors that contributed to my last relationship.

All the Ultimate Galactus stuff is contained in 3 minis:

- Ultimate Nightmare (a preamble that reveals OMG GALACTUS)
- Ultimate Secret (adds more ingrediants to the soup)
- Ultimate Extinction

So there's no need to dip into long-running Ultimate titles to get up to speed.

There's also the backup Ultimate Vision stories that ran in the normal ultimate books. Not much there, just the Vision thing talking about being a warning and all the civilizations that failed.

They're available as TPBs entitled Ultimate Galactus volumes 1 and 2. I believe Marvel has stated Ultimate Vision will only ever be available as backup stories in those individual issues.

You're not missing a whole lot, the basic premise is that a civilization built the Vision to warn people of Galactus's coming and each world since has made an effort to stay safe but has failed.

I think I have it as a cbr file that I could sneak into this thread later this week...
