(I was thinking of making the next one V for Vendetta themed, but no one's talking about it much. A sad indictment of Los Bros Wachowski or wot?! Anyway, is anyone bothering with the ICA preview of said flick?)

Anyway, of course, we think it'll be something a bit new and different in comics magazines. But everyone who ever put one out said that. ;-)

By now the regulars here are so regular - and this is not a criticism - that whenever anybody irregular posts more than once to a thread its mildly shocking. "Who is this newcomer?" Whatever happened to that short-lived drive to recruit new contributors?
Comics International reporting on our endless tiffs about why we love spandex and unintentionally humorous pictures of superheroes in compromising positions cant hurt...

ILC is still small enough that it's hard for a "membership drive" to work, I think -- it's a different thing, delurking or newcoming to a place where a new person sticks out that much. A newcomer can pop up on ILE and fifty posters will just assume it's a regular they hadn't noticed before. That'll change, but I think the change'll still be slow for a bit.

Mona Lisa Ludatits is the near-mythic commissioned caricature drawn by the elusive and enigmatic cartooning genius, r0bt v@n 1iefeld. A "mash-up" of various discourses in modern culture, Mona Lisa Ludatits examines in turn the politics of culture (from contemporary hip-hop issues to the Renaissance), reification/fetishization of women in portraiture (and specifically the danger infused in female breasts as an object of the male gaze), and the degraded state of art creation in a free-market capitalist society. Mona Lisa Ludatits quickly disappeared from public view, to the dismay of the most erudite and good-looking online comics evaluators presently active on the Internet. Its artist did not accompany the removal of the piece with an explanation, and many observers assumed his complete exile from ILC. However, Mr. v@n 1iefeld briefly resurfaced with an unexpected but well-regarded follow-up.

ILC has too much continuity!. Newcomers can't get into the board with all those arcane references to Mona Lisa Ludatits and Sadface!. Let's start from scratch!.
