I don't try to be the one who starts these threads, I just get the impulse on a Monday morning...

Anyway. http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_112206.txt is the list.

For me:
52 WEEK #29--will there be a backup? Only the JSA's hairdresser knows for sure!
SHOWCASE PRESENTS THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER VOL. 1--probably most fun in small doses
SUPERGIRL AND THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #24--the mystery neither deepens nor, uh, gets shallower, I bet
Y THE LAST MAN VOL. 8 KIMONO DRAGONS--I admit, I'm basically reading it in trades
DAREDEVIL #91--oh perfidious one!
ESSENTIAL CAPTAIN AMERICA VOL. 3--beginning the Englehart run that I've always wanted to read in more than fragments
NEW X-MEN OMNIBUS HC--all the Morrison issues in one convenient volume for only a hundred bux (psst. it's $62.99 on Amazon)
BIG QUESTIONS #9--somehow I managed to not get this at SPX--I really like this series

how about you?

Hola Doug!

c('°c) (Leee), Monday, 20 November 2006 17:56 (nineteen years ago)

Aargh jinx0r!

Douglas (Douglas), Monday, 20 November 2006 21:29 (nineteen years ago)

Doug's has the proper list!

That New X-Men collection is ten bucks more than the three hardcovers put together, and going by Marvel's usual production standards will lose a good centimetre of bleed in the spine.

I'm cracking a bone for the Harvey Kurtzman Comics Journal Library thing (though I have his 1981ish interview issue and his obit one so who knows how much is new), Moomin finally (though probably next week) and Comic Art #8 with the Seth book finally came in.

My impression is that the NXM omnibus misses 30 pages of text from the hardcovers. Is that right?

ASDF (ASDFASDF), Monday, 20 November 2006 23:02 (nineteen years ago)

if so, it'll be the TOTALLY TOTALLY dispensible crap like "censored" excerpts of Morrison's pitch and thumbnails of the pencils for a sequence in the book and pin-ups and such

occasional mongrel (kit brash), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 02:49 (nineteen years ago)

Why do they have censored excerpts from the pitch in the hardback when the whole thing is in the first paperback?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 21 November 2006 08:51 (nineteen years ago)

the paperback had even more bits redacted than the hardback does!

I might be poorly remembering it as handwritten.
