Come on you lot, where are all the new threads?

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I was waiting for the 'This Week' thread.

Can't comment on last week's stuff as TNT have still not managed to deliver to Bristol.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 09:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Labor Day Weekend's a bitch for us Americans, mang. It's a holiday in honor of working, yet it's a day off - I still can't get my head around it.

I will post the This Week thread momentarily, BTW.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Yep, it was Labor Day, I was drinking beer and eating meat and catching up on graphicless novels for the last three days.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 11:34 (twenty-one years ago)

I thought this was going to be a thread abut your favorite cliffhanger.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 11:36 (twenty-one years ago)

No new threads for 3 days = more of a cliffhanger than I could handle!

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't get Labor Day off for work or school, but the bigger why-I-don't-have-anything-new-to-say issue for me is that with the kids back in town, it's much harder for me to get to the store. (This is one of those typical small, quiet towns in the middle of a farming county, with a small, quiet downtown with meandering streets and hills and very little parking -- onto which has been glommed an enormous college campus right next to downtown, a severe on-campus parking shortage that has even faculty parking off-campus, and 40,000 college students.) This is why I have subscriptions to some stuff!

Hopefully I'll at least be able to pick stuff up monthly. I'm thinking of adding Spider-Man: India to my pull list in case that comes and goes too quickly for me to flip through it on the shelf.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey Dan!!

Most Excited You've Been Between Issues aka BEST CLIFFHANGERS EVER!

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

PWNED

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Good Lord, ILC exploded today! This is the first time I've ever looked at New Answers and thought, "Yeah, there's no way I can read all that." Look at what you did, Tom!

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 7 September 2004 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Noooo....the power....can't control it....

I was just thinking that we should have more people on ILC. But actively seeking such people would be rub, really.

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 09:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, I know. I think the only way to really get more people would be through the tried-&-true word-of-mouth helping-friendly blog linkage method. For what it's worth, I've got a link on my site, though I think my site is still in the thrall of g00glers looking for "M@ureen D0wd hot".

David R. (popshots75`), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I like the slow growth we've been having -- no one gets lost in the flood, so to speak -- but wouldn't mind if it were a little faster. I'm ambivalent about the board becoming out-and-out Large, but obviously there's no risk of that any time soon.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

M@ureen D0wd is pretty hot, though.

Tep (ktepi), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 12:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I would write more on ilc but I only read Astonishing X-Men.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 12:31 (twenty-one years ago)

QUEEN OF ALL THE GOTHS!

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 12:39 (twenty-one years ago)

nb I read no comics at all until about 2 weeks ago and have contributed happily.

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I was just thinking that we should have more people on ILC

I know you mean "more people on ILC who don't celebrate Labor Day", Tom, I can read between the lines. :>

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I could, uh, post an inflammatory thing on the DC Green Lantern msg boards about how one GL is better than the other, and that there's incontrovertible proof that Kyle Rayner is Hal Jordan's love child with Eve Doremus and that's why Kyle killed Sue Dibny and throw a link back here. The people on those msg bds are fucking crazy.

Huck, Wednesday, 8 September 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

And wasn't GL in the shape of a Predator ship when he did the deed?

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

What is so sad is I can name three Green Lanterns and I have never read the comics! It's just from being married to somebody who talks about comics a lot.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 14:27 (twenty-one years ago)

The next thread will be the 300th! Wow.

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you mean the arty porno comics one or the one after that? :>

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

The pulse-pounding follow-up to that continental filth.

Tom (Groke), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Nicole, you only have something to be ashamed of if one of the three GLs you can name is Charlie Vickers.

Huk-L, Wednesday, 8 September 2004 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

No. I know Kyle Rayner, Hal Jordan, and John Stewart. That's about it.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)

And I originally thought John Stewart had something to do with the Daily Show's Jon Stewart -- sadly I was mistaken.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, me too.

Huk-L, Wednesday, 8 September 2004 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

ILC definitely has irregular cycles. It needs to get on the pill.
