Has anybody read this?
I just discovered it on comics.org, looks like heavy Rucka and Brubaker action with a focus on Gordon!
Which is, like, what I love!
MORE INFO PLEASE, and GMAIL TO ME NOW.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 17:53 (twenty years ago)

Starts w/ an S, ends w/ a K, and has the University of California as the meat in the sammich.

Unless you're just being cheeky. In that case, carry on, and bring back pie.

I though Austen was the Chuck that Suck.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 18:15 (twenty years ago)

Hey now, I'm a UC alum!

Leeeeeeee (Leee), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 23:35 (twenty years ago)

Also, for Huk's eyes only: This is the thread where you help meee sort out Chuck Austen and Chuck Dixon

Leeeeeeee (Leee), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 23:36 (twenty years ago)

problem with Chuck Dixon = right-wing gun-nut homophobe ...who writes really boring stories?

I bought four issues of that miniseries.

kit brash (kit brash), Thursday, 1 September 2005 00:04 (twenty years ago)

kit brash totally otm abt chuck dixon, surely the worst comic bk scripter to still get regular work

Ward Fowler (Ward Fowler), Thursday, 1 September 2005 11:39 (twenty years ago)

So are you guys hinting that Dixon was maybe cheering for Az-Bats?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 1 September 2005 13:45 (twenty years ago)

two months pass...
THanks to Leeee's email from a loooooong time ago, I finally figured out DC++ last night and D/Led this. 'S okay. The first and the last issues are the best (1st is Rucka & Leiber, last is Rucka & POPE! Hubba hubba!). The Ed Brubaker/Joe Giella issue is, um, crazy. Sentimental stuff that adds v. little to either Batman or Gordon's stories, but nice male-bondery stuff that requires that you "care" about Bruce and Jim.
Can YSI later today if anyone's interested.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 18 November 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

Hey, was that a zee-cult download, or does DC++ open up some new comics reservoir?

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Friday, 18 November 2005 15:02 (twenty years ago)

The hub was called "cartoons & comics" or something like that. Pretty much everybody had the same crap, all the Infinite Crisis minis and all that wankery. But I was very pleased at how quick the d/l was.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Friday, 18 November 2005 15:04 (twenty years ago)

While we're on the subject of Rucka-scribed Batstories, anyone read his "Death and the Maidens" mini? I waited for it to come out in TPB, but I don't think that's going to happen. Fortunately, my DC++ is finally working again, and btw, I recommend the Comic Shack hub: comicshack.no-ip.info

Sonneywolferinecastleee (Leee), Saturday, 19 November 2005 01:05 (twenty years ago)

I read it as it came out. It was...okay.

Jordan (Jordan), Saturday, 19 November 2005 03:56 (twenty years ago)

I can't find this comicshack you speak of. I'm at Cartoons & Comics: megaman.gotdns.com
D&theMs, I have in my Batman SUPERFUNPACK. It's got some good stuff, but mostly, OMG 12 issues? COME ON.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Saturday, 19 November 2005 06:02 (twenty years ago)

Have you tried to "File" > Quick Connect, and then paste the address directly in?

Sonneywolferinecastleee (Leee), Saturday, 19 November 2005 06:09 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, my connection gets refused. I guess I'm just not good enough.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Saturday, 19 November 2005 06:49 (twenty years ago)

I think that the hub server's been on the fritz.

Then again, I am that cool.

Try retreat-cxn.servep2p.com

Sonneywolferinecastleee (Leee), Saturday, 19 November 2005 07:25 (twenty years ago)

I swear this is the last downloading question I will ever ask on ILC:

Is DC++ preferable to Azuerus?

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Saturday, 19 November 2005 17:15 (twenty years ago)

Azuereus is a BitTorrent client, DC++ isn't. With BitTorrent, you have to find websites which will list and index BitTorrent files to use. On the other hand, once you find these websites, they're better indexed, and it's easier to find current stuff.
