I Am TEh GAYmAN

LSD ARISTOCAT (ex machina), Friday, 14 January 2005 22:55 (twenty years ago)

Hello, Years ago, I got a postcard from a comicbook artist/ musician by the name of Brian Chippendale that had the words "Glitter Limes" written on it. in addition to a stylized silkscreen of a monkey on it. I had no context for what the words meant, but they stuck in my mind and kinda became a default phrase I would say in amazement or surprise. One morning I was walking back from the recording studio after a all-night recording session when I saw the moon setting on the skyline and I declares, "Glitter limes!" as sight was quite hansome. Then the words "glitter", "limes", "morning", and "moon" started dancing around in my head and forming a synthpop song. Much later I saw Brian Chippendale at a concert with his band the lighting bolts and I noticed he had a glimmering shimmering citrus slice on his wrist, I asked him about it after the show and he said something about a person who made them and how they were neat, but I was pretty drunk, so I kinda forgot what the name was. So I guess that was you? Anyway, the CDR is normally $10, but do you think maybe I could trade you for a glitterlime?

Warm regards,
Robert Syrett

If you don't appreciate the Killers you have cloth in your ears. Especially if you like Moz or Smiths at all and you don't appreciate them then as far as I'm concerned you have some serious explaining to do. Seriously, Moz aside, what worries me is the idea that the corporate media machine is putting cloth in people's ears to the point that they are rendered UNABLE TO GRASP THE SIMPLE, REFRESHING DELIGHT OF THE KILLERS. What does this say about the future of music? If by some insane miracle, another John, George, Paul & Ringo appeared at our door, would we all just be too cynical, too deaf to hear it? Not that I'm trying to compare the Killers to Beatles, that's not what I'm getting at. What I am getting at is this: If a Killer falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?

AND THE ANSWER IS YES IT DOES, BECAUSE THE TEENAGERS KNOW. EVEN IF YOU DON'T. AND TEENAGERS RULE THE WORLD.

"A company of porcupines crowded themselves very close together one cold winter's day so as to proft by one another's warmth and so save themselves from being frozen to death. But soon they felt one another's quills, which induced them to separate again. And now, when the need for warmth brought them nearer together again, the second evil arose once more. So that they were driven backwards and forwards from one trouble to the other, until they discovered a mean distance at which they could most tolerably exist."
