s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 19:28 (nineteen years ago)

well i "borrowed" that one from work to write the review (ah the joys of the shrink wrap machine), so i needed a new one anyway!

strng hlkngtn: what does it mean? (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 19:30 (nineteen years ago)

There are a couple of good Desmond Dekker comps at the public library in my town.
This one
http://www.townsend-records.co.uk/i/covers/1085568.jpg
has all of the early singles and is just great. But no "Israelites" :(
Apparently there was an early version called "Poor Me Israelites" that the liner notes mention but it is not on the collection.

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 20:02 (nineteen years ago)

at one of my first jobs the elderly owner spilled something on his shirt and attempted to dry it with the shrink wrapper, thereby setting himself on fire

strng hlkngtn: what does it mean? (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 20:04 (nineteen years ago)

please tell me you witnessed that

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 20:06 (nineteen years ago)

i was the one who had to put him out!

strng hlkngtn: what does it mean? (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 12 October 2005 20:07 (nineteen years ago)

my old boss used to reheat pizza with the shrink wrapper...in view of customers!
