Jdubz (ex machina), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 17:46 (twenty years ago)

Obviosuly it would be even better if some of the people on that board had huge image files as their sigs, so that when they put up a 2-line "me too" post, the image file was like 3 x the size of their post.

Oh hang on, they actually do that.

So, where do you people think grime is going in 2006? Argh.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 17:47 (twenty years ago)

C or Ds = DUD as are all Kill Whitey threads

gold buck teef (mookie wilson), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 18:29 (twenty years ago)

gold buck teef (mookie wilson), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 18:48 (twenty years ago)

I'm not going to argue about Wilco on the internet.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 19:23 (twenty years ago)

BUT I HAVE A CONTROVERSIAL OPINION I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU WITHOUT ELABORATION.

sexyDancer (sexyDancer), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 19:32 (twenty years ago)

summary of what i've read on ilm today:

"eh kate bush is weird and boring"
"hey i really like wilco"
"this new madonna album has some songs i'll be dancing to!"
"please people, this (insert shitty '90s alt rock track) is so much better than (insert equally shitty '90s alt rock track)"

gear (gear), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 19:59 (twenty years ago)

maybe you shouldn't read ilm!

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:03 (twenty years ago)

didn't you do the wilco play-by-play last year gear?

'Twan (miccio), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:09 (twenty years ago)

i did, but i was drunk and i don't think i've listened to it since!

gear (gear), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:14 (twenty years ago)

so when you get drunk you write play-by-play analyses of wilco albums? party!

'Twan (miccio), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

hahaha!

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

it was a slow night and i used to drink way too much

gear (gear), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:19 (twenty years ago)

you should be more sympathetic to the slow alcoholics on that thread, then.

'Twan (miccio), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:21 (twenty years ago)

yeah

gear (gear), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

part of it is - for me - i have less time and access to ilx lately and when you only look at it every once in a while - as opposed to constantly checking it - EVERYTHING looks really drippy and dweeby. whereas, when i'm on it everyday like clockwork, i kinda forget how bad it can be. cuz i don't really care. like, you know, drugs. plus, and i'm only gonna mention this once, cuz i don't know the dude at all, in fact i don't think i've ever interacted with him at all on ilx, seeing tombot bring up my friend beth the other day on a thread and then get pissed off at her made me want to give up ILE once and for all. i just don't need to see idiotic shit like that and i realize that beth is fair game and people make fun of people all the time, but it seriously pissed ME off and that's when i know it's time to give that board a rest. i hate when the computer makes me mad. again, i don't know him at all. the only thing i ever remember him posting was that hilarious rant about how people who don't go to college will never make more than 90k a year (i think he might have been serious, i couldn't tell, but it was hilarious anyway.)and that he is engaged to ally and that he was friends with that drunk dude who loved turbonegro (see, you learn a lot here and there) and he's probably great, i have no idea. don't really care. he did me a favor. i need to paint and write more anyway. and, oh yeah, watch the kids.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 02:26 (twenty years ago)

how recently did it turn into the kind of board where one poster (in all seriousness) asks if someone will YSI a full double album (Aphex's selected ambient works II) for them?

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 02:37 (twenty years ago)

cuz i don't really care. like, you know, drugs.

Jdubz (ex machina), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 03:15 (twenty years ago)

how recently did it turn into the kind of board where one poster (in all seriousness) asks if someone will YSI a full double album (Aphex's selected ambient works II) for them?

Since the YSI thread turned into slsk for 14280993 random googlers/lurkers?

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 04:03 (twenty years ago)

As with television, the more you are away from ILM or ILX, the less appealing they become.

Hurting (Hurting), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 05:21 (twenty years ago)

terry lennox. (gareth), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

THIS IS THE THREAD WHERE YOU TELL ME ABOUT FOLK MUSIC

I don't know anything about folk music, and i don't have google on my computer, so please tell me what i should look out for. Was folk mainly a singles medium or was it on album (or home produced cassettes). Who are the main artists i should look out for (Somebody mentioned that Soul Jazz are releasing a retrospective of folk music, but, other than that, what is good).

If i like Bob Dylan and Donovan will i like folk music? Somebody told me that if i liked Bob Dylan i was bound to like folk music? Can you tell me if this is true?

terry lennox. (gareth), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 17:00 (twenty years ago)

if i only i wasn't politically opposed to the starting of parody threads

terry lennox. (gareth), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 17:01 (twenty years ago)

come on, gareth, that dude really wants you to tell him about acid house.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 17:22 (twenty years ago)

I got about four posts into that thread before wanting to blow it up.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 17:27 (twenty years ago)

Like Gareth, I have also been considering starting some parody threads but I'm kinda philosophically opposed to logging out and starting threads anonymously.

MindInRewind (Barry Bruner), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 17:28 (twenty years ago)

I AM TOO BUSY DISCUSSING TECHNO HAIRCUTS, ON A RICHIE HAWTIN THREAD. I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO EXPLAIN ACID HOUSE AT THE SAME TIME.

terry lennox. (gareth), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 18:27 (twenty years ago)
