well, she was already christian (and fairly religious), it's just more that she suddenly decided now is the time to get "serious" about it, i guess. the way she just announced it out of the blue was disconcerting.

i don't think she's feeling happy about her life in general right now (due to reasons i don't feel comfortable going into), so maybe she feels this is what she should do. i'm just hoping this won't lead to weird and awkward conversations, and stilted friendship.

it all turned out fine in the end. he moved to NY, goes to SVA and has become an amazing painter. whenever i see him he's the same ol' guy. still a smart ass and trouble maker. never mentions the god issues and has appologized for pushing his friends out of his life for a while.

walkin back from my car after drinks with jbr, jaq, ned i passed the emergency room entrance in los feliz. some drunk armenian guy's bleedin from the hip outside on the curb, so i ask if he needs help. he says 'no man, i'm cool' and hobbles past.

twenty feet later this old skeezy hollywood type jerk pulls up in a fancypants beemer and honks at me. i ignore cuz i'm worried he might be sumpin to do with the bleedin armenian. he rolls down the window and brandishes his fist like a geezer pissed at the clouds. i shrug and walk on. he uses his beemer to follow me down the street. speeding up, i try to turn the corner and skeezy beemer-guy does too. beemer's wheel so close it threatens to hop the curb. basically i've gone into shit-myself mode. guy sorta grunts and winks and makes another motion toward me. i can't see so i shrug 'whatever' at him hoping he'll go away. i try to cross the street and he pulls into the crosswalk. five, ten feet between us. he throws the car in park. i'm all like 'this is how i'm gonna die' and then suddenly hollywood beemer-creep smiles at me. for a second i think he's not so bad, feel some tentative relief. but then unmistakably he demonstrates the universal 'i wanna blowjob' symbol. blowing an invisible dick with his hand. i try to say very loudly 'no thanks' but my voice kinda leaves me, and it's best i can do to duck & dodge around the car. guy is pissed, backs up the car and half-chases me the next two blocks to the house i'm staying at. i only get in cuz the door's propped and run upstairs to lock the door.

ten minutes later i hear gunshot.

Driving into work this morning, I pull up at a roundabout, and I check the rear view mirror. This black BMW pulls up behind me, THERE'S A FUCKING LITTLE KID DRIVING IT!! He can barely see over the steering wheel. No-one else in the car. I figure on taking the reg. no. & reporting this to the cops, but the roundabout clears and he turns off to the left, and I'm going str8 on.
