your friend doesn't understand the value of money. 7 for entree, plus drinks, plus tip... you're talking at least $10. I could buy a bag of rice and 8 cans of beans wiht that kind of cash.

Holly (an appletross), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

dude, arby's and sparks. less than 7$

Sonny, Ah!!1 (Sonny A.), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 21:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Of course I make rice and beans. I'm on the rice and beans and coffee diet. On a special day I throw in a little cilantro and lime.

Holly (an appletross), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 21:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Throw in some Dr. Pepper and cigarettes and you've got a LAXATIVE BOMB.

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Tuesday, 2 May 2006 22:08 (nineteen years ago)

I spent $45 on lunch a couple days ago, the person I went to lunch with is no longer subsidized by parents & thus credit card = DECLINED

should I buy an ipod?

dar1a g (daria g), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 00:34 (nineteen years ago)

accountsettings - be sure to expense this

gabbneb (gabbneb), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 01:19 (nineteen years ago)

I have a friend who's been subsidized by his parents for as long as I can remember. he's a pretty good artist, makes paintings and music that are on the far end of extreme (shocking?), but I find it kind of hard to talk to him. I just want to say, "yeah, you make some pretty fucked up stuff, and your music collection is ridiculous, but wtf, I can't even begin to tell you about what happened to me at work." that's when I start to think maybe I need to quit

Dominique (dleone), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 01:25 (nineteen years ago)

(xp) yeah! we had happy hour drinks there the other day. free mini hamburgers A++++ L@@K! EXCELENT!!!!

accountsettings (account), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 01:27 (nineteen years ago)

(super google-proofed for safe ranting!)

ONe thing I fucking hate about rich kids is that they can't admit that they're rich. One of my best friends drives a 2005 Civic (insert whatever two letters denote the fancy version), lives in a 300k house (upscale in MN at least!), all payed for entirely by her and her husband's Dr. and lawyer parents and still has the nerve to act like her and spouse are some kind of desperate paycheck-to-paycheck proles just because they work a 40 hour week! Get one class consciousness!

D@n I. (Dan I.), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 02:40 (nineteen years ago)

And I've heard them talk about "when we move" IE: they consider that place (more expensive and in nicer neighborhood than literally anyone else I know) their STARTER HOME!!! !@#$%^#^#%#%

D@n I. (Dan I.), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 02:41 (nineteen years ago)

I have one friend who is genuinely subsidized (like Mom and Dad got their apartment, not just some extra cash once in a while). I don't entirely envy them -- it's nice, but at the same time she feels enormous amounts of unnecessary guilt about it and finds it very difficult to feel any pride or purpose in her life.

$7 entree is cheap in NYC. In Philly you can get cheaper.

Abbadavid Berman (Hurting), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 03:23 (nineteen years ago)

should have said "envy her" not "them"

Abbadavid Berman (Hurting), Wednesday, 3 May 2006 03:23 (nineteen years ago)
