This happened to me with Modern Life Is Rubbish by Blur and the Civ 2 music in 1999, both are completely ruined for me as a result.

I've been playing that Dragonball Z game recently, one of the songs is pretty much identical to "Everybody Dance" by Chic (like, it has the verses and the chorus), and another's a lot like "It's A Sin" by the Pet Shop Boys, but both redone in that maddeningly ostentatious trumpety Japanese game music way.
