I am afraid that in my brief span here on ILX I am already developing a reputation for wild dumb tangents:

There's a Skyy vodka billboard on the corner of 12th St. and 3rd Ave. here in NYC that I don't understand. It depicts a "punk rock"-attired couple, sitting in a booth possibly at Sardi's. An unseen hand is pouring Skyy into the punk boy's glass. The punk boy is pointing at the glass and scowling punkishly.

It's not that I don't understand, really, but more that it's a terrible stupid ad.

I can't do alcohol.It's an allergy thing.Not had a drop in ten years.I used to enjoy a bevvie or three,but the effects turned from getting a bit pissed into going to A+E and spending a couple of days in hospital.So I have to leave the falling-down juice well alone.
But it's not all bad.Since discovering recreational chemistry,I can now get in a goofy mess without having a bellyful of ale to cart around.And I've lost a stone-and-a-half in the last three years without changing my diet.It's purely a Saturday night thing,I know where the limit is.It's just a shame I am forced to break the laws of our land to enjoy my buzz,and I am saddened(not angry)when people refer to me as a 'druggie'.I have a good job,a nice home,two cars and a loving partner.Yet sometimes when I tell people that I do chemicals instead of alcohol,they instantly assume I am a smackhead and refuse to speak to me anymore.It would be funny to see just what would happen if the Government made alcohol illegal.Would everyone who regarded drug users as scum because they break the law suddenly stop drinking,just because it was illegal?
As for everyone on here who is not as thunk as you drink you are,have one for me..........

Even better, a hangover burger -- grill up a burger, butter and grill the bun, add cheese, a fried egg, bacon, and BBQ sauce or chili. I used to live on those when I drank regularly, and I'm finding lately that my sleeping pills give me similar protein cravings in the morning.

I love the SNPA as well, but it's never tasted as good here in Chicago as it did out west. You ever had the stout? Had one for the first time today, didn't even know they existed. Pretty good, if you like stouts. In fact, it tastes just like the Pale Ale except with that stout-y burnt toast aftertaste.
