As demanded here, I think.

I like everything but green and bright red.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 3 February 2003 21:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, which one looks best on you when you look at yourself in the mirror, N?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:01 (twenty-three years ago)

NED! Take your N-perving to email, you filthy beast.

I think my wife's favorite bra is black. It makes her cleavage look outstanding.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Even bright red or green might be OK if embroidery comes into play.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:07 (twenty-three years ago)

purple

jel -- (jel), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:09 (twenty-three years ago)

Wait! That's another no-no. Or mauve is.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't like embellished bras.

but colours...I don't mind, really. baby blue is nice.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:12 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm no expert!

jel -- (jel), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Purple bra = ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWR. (Unless of course it's being worn by Prince.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I think you have over ooo-ed the rowr.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Brand and style matter far more than color, so if that's a purple DKNY sitting in the bargain bin, I am snapping it up anyway.

But to answer the question: black, obv.

Jen (nstop), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha I have squandered my allotment of ooo for the day.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:18 (twenty-three years ago)

blue gingham

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Baby blue... definately.

Christopher (Christopher), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:33 (twenty-three years ago)

black

gareth (gareth), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Black, but I like white and red, and almost any colour. I'm rarely keen on bras that aren't monochrome.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:39 (twenty-three years ago)

How come there aren't more super-fashion bras where the cups are different colors (ie, one is red, the other is green)?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:40 (twenty-three years ago)

port and starboard no less

Ed (dali), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:42 (twenty-three years ago)

very good for spotting which direction someone is going at sea.

Ed (dali), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:42 (twenty-three years ago)

BEST BRA CONCEPT EVER

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:43 (twenty-three years ago)

black

rainy (rainy), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm gonna say yellow, coz it hasn't been mentioned yet, and I'm feeling sorry for it.

jel -- (jel), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:45 (twenty-three years ago)

jel, you are the greatest.

rainy (rainy), Monday, 3 February 2003 22:53 (twenty-three years ago)

white

Mary (Mary), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Black or red, I can't decide.

Nicole (Nicole), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Wow - ratio of male responses to female is quite interesting here *grin*

My favorite color - Black, satin. Followed by dark green, deep red, deep purple, royal blue, and other deep colors, in satin or that excellent new material that Victoria's Secret is using that's soft and stretchy and supportive. Almost no prints, and absoluely no lace or other itchy crap.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Black or pink.

j.lu (j.lu), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Martin Amis once said that women think men like exotic fancy underwear, whereas in fact they actually like plain white best. I always thought this was abt the only time MA has ever been OTM - prob. cos I agreed w/ him - but am now revising my opinion in the light of this thread. So thanks, it's been v. educational.

Andrew L (Andrew L), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:38 (twenty-three years ago)

black

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Contextual.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:39 (twenty-three years ago)

Yep I remember that Amis quote too, from London Fields, or Money was it?

Mary (Mary), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I think this is pretty.

f (felicity), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Felicity you smoking the pipe!

Mary (Mary), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:52 (twenty-three years ago)

beige, because you can't see it under clothes. followed by red, my general favorite color.

Maria (Maria), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:59 (twenty-three years ago)

But that doesn't work for me because the beige is always much darker than my skin color and looks silly.

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 00:04 (twenty-three years ago)

White sporty ones. (I'm boring.)

Genevieve, Tuesday, 4 February 2003 00:29 (twenty-three years ago)

dark blue bras are my thang.

di smith (lucylurex), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 00:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Pinstripe

jamesmichaelward (jamesmichaelward), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 00:37 (twenty-three years ago)

I think it was 'london fields' cause I have read it. It's sort of true but not enough to make such a blanket statement.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 00:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Purple wins. It suggests "I have more important things to worry about than my tits, but I'd rather my boyfriend didn't".

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 00:54 (twenty-three years ago)

definitely 'London Fields', I like the part about Nicola's underthings being so whispy, that having been thrown off by the shah-like guy, they didn't fall to the ground until they were through making love!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 01:17 (twenty-three years ago)

for girls with creamy white skin like mine you can't beat black for a nice contrast.

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 01:20 (twenty-three years ago)

my favourite three bras are these colours:

minna (minna), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 03:43 (twenty-three years ago)

(that peachy colour should be a bit paler and the green much paler but the grey is ok)

minna (minna), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 03:44 (twenty-three years ago)

free the ilx two, girls

jess (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 03:49 (twenty-three years ago)

nice purple bra:

http://i.ivillage.com/redbook/you/org/articles/a9brag53.jpg

you have to be careful about the shade, eg. a harsh chemical purple is not very nice at all.

minna (minna), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 03:49 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah that purple one roXoRs

also black!

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 03:50 (twenty-three years ago)

i dunno jess you don't wanna see that 'sackful of dead mice' look

minna (minna), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 03:58 (twenty-three years ago)

oh lord

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 04:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Black is always a good choice (well... except under a white shirt) but I quite like deep shades of red too.

Penny Lane (Penny Lane), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 05:10 (twenty-three years ago)

haha minna i doubt you rock the dead mice

jess (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 05:17 (twenty-three years ago)

black is classic, but my faves have to be light, baby pink, and a baby blue. but i have a light yellow one that i like too.

stolenbus (stolenbus), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 05:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Black, although my current favourite is black with white polkadots (in an oh la la Bridget Bardot way, not a Tammy Girl my first bra way.)

Anna (Anna), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 11:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Red, Black, White - in that order.

smee (smee), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 12:01 (twenty-three years ago)

I second baby blue/blue gingham.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 12:09 (twenty-three years ago)

I third baby blue. Yummy. But colour really doesn't matter on the whole unless it's bad, clashing with clothes or skin tone or catching the light badly. I like white much more than black. I hate lacy bras, preferring the seamless, cotton type.

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 12:14 (twenty-three years ago)

Shiny turquoise.

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 13:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a tie for my favorite bra: baby blue or pink, depending on my mood that day. Also, sometimes I'll go for classic white. Rarely black any more, but only cuz I don't have a black one that fits right. I have a mauve bra that I think is really pretty, but maybe it's just me. I have a red bra, which appears to be sort of a faux pas on this thread, but it has little roses on it that I think are really nice.

(ie, one is red, the other is green)? You mean a xmas bra??

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 13:44 (twenty-three years ago)

YES!!!! What could be merrier?

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 14:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Christmas breasts?

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 14:20 (twenty-three years ago)

Christmas puddings!

MarkH (MarkH), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 16:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Christmas pudding breasts, ew.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 16:47 (twenty-three years ago)

QUITE ENOUGH.

Dear god, between this and uncle sex and Coco Pops...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 16:58 (twenty-three years ago)

what about pudding pop breasts?

jess (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 16:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Bill Cosby's commercials take on whole new meanings.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 17:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Long term readers of ILX will be shoxx0red to hear that I have got no more bras since that bra thread (I think). I own THREE BRAS. One is dark red (too small but it creates a hem-hem full effect), one is black (and seamless) and the other is a white sports bra which is MINGING but the only thing that makes me feel secure when running down the road, sigh.

Red and black, obv. Although I do have a lilac mesh/pink combo which is very very pretty.

starry (Groke), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 17:14 (twenty-three years ago)

tom in crossdressing non-shocker

jess (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 17:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey hey I changed the posting names and email address - did that show up as Tom?? I know the sign-in does if you're one of those "show all details" geeks...

Tom (Groke), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 17:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha oh well he's the admin anyway he can change it later if so.

starry (Groke), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 17:32 (twenty-three years ago)

hey dont mock the show all details. its good for knowing the time man

Chupa-Cabras (vicc13), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 18:04 (twenty-three years ago)

That purple bra of minna's is not good. I mean it's not *rank* or anything, but it's just not good. It's not the colour that's the problem, it's the shape and material.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 18:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't buy Amis's line at all. What's he on about?

the pinefox, Tuesday, 4 February 2003 18:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Well a good crisp white bras *is* nice (esp. on a mid-sized boob).

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 18:11 (twenty-three years ago)

We'll get a mid-size bra on Dick Cheney forthwith.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 18:16 (twenty-three years ago)

crisp? ew!

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 19:18 (twenty-three years ago)

The bras in the advert for Kylie's new range look horrible.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 19:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm wearing a leopard print one now.

I like black best.

rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 19:38 (twenty-three years ago)

(ha my accidental inversion has turned Dick Cheney into a good crisp white boob!)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 4 February 2003 19:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Isn't he though?

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 00:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Good and crisp, no.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 01:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I have to admit that I'm surprised to see all the votes for white -- to me it always seems so medical and sterile. I prefer black, pink, and beige.

j.lu (j.lu), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 01:15 (twenty-three years ago)

What it is with this weird beige thing? That's the colour of plastic bras in hospital.

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 01:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Beige - it usually blends with one's skin color so it doesn't appear under light-colored clothing, which is a concern for some and not for others.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 02:12 (twenty-three years ago)

But it doesn't blend with skin color! That's the evilness of it. I suppose it blends with someone's skin color, but I can't think of anyone I know who has that skin tone. They're usually like that ugly pantyhose color.

Nicole (Nicole), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 02:15 (twenty-three years ago)

when you're not wearing clothes and you're left with the standalone beigeness of the bra, it is the worst bra colour ever!

jess: HOW DO YOU KNOW! (not that i'm disputing anything! i just wonder how you can predict this mouse-breast phenomenon, what are the signs that point to it? hmm i reckon i'll just shut up about mice already it's giving me nightmares.)

minna (minna), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:17 (twenty-three years ago)

what do people think of those gauzy transparent bras?

minna (minna), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:22 (twenty-three years ago)

i think of your breasts often, minna.

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:28 (twenty-three years ago)

oh, fuck

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:28 (twenty-three years ago)

i mean, oh fuck < /graham>

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:29 (twenty-three years ago)

mouse mummification

N. (nickdastoor), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:30 (twenty-three years ago)

anyway, transparent bras are hot and "mod"

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:32 (twenty-three years ago)

haha that's ok jess i think about your breasts too

minna (minna), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:42 (twenty-three years ago)

i love gauzy transparent bras. I have a front hook one that is this weird mod, pink, purple and blue print on the gauzy transparent material. V. nice except I have little opportunity to wear b/c of the, ah, minimal coverage it provides.

That Girl (thatgirl), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:42 (twenty-three years ago)

minna you should beep me 911 sometime but i gotta go watch american idol soon

that girl, your statement makes no logical sense

jess (dubplatestyle), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 03:45 (twenty-three years ago)

It makes sense to me.

rosemary (rosemary), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 04:13 (twenty-three years ago)

why does no-one else like dark blue bras?

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 09:24 (twenty-three years ago)

di, I had a dark blue bra once and loved it. I just don't have one right now. :(

ok, here's how I feel about this white bra/ beige bra issue. I LOVE my white bra and I don't think it's sterile looking at all. In fact, I think that so many women have gone to wearing colorful bras to try to look unique that wearing a white bra is all new and mysterious and hott once again. As for beige, my skin is not beige. It's pink. That's right. Pale pink. So, when I want to wear a bra that no one will be able to see under a light fabric, I wear my pink bra.

Sarah McLuksy (coco), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 13:42 (twenty-three years ago)

I used to have a dark blue bra too, I wonder whatever happened to it...must've chucked it out, or maybe it's lurking at the back of a drawer somewhere....

smee (smee), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 13:46 (twenty-three years ago)

My white bra is a bit too plain though. I had a lovely white bra, but I spilled red wine all over it and now it's ruined.

I had a lovely dark blue/ indigo one, but it reached that point of Death By Washing Machine and had to be thrown out.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I also love my white underwear but after a while the color starts to fade and they become my last resort underwear.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

what were you doing drinking wine in yr underwear, Anna?

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Drinking it naked would have been unhygienic, surely. What are you suggesting, Mark?

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:50 (twenty-three years ago)

not if in the shower, sometimes in life buses don't wait for you to get drunk

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:51 (twenty-three years ago)

(alternative explanation:you know you're in a bad way when you begin every day 3 cans below cheerful)

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey maybe Anna was drinking her wine whilst perched provocatively on the edge of her bed, when some man could not longer control himself. He lunged for her and the wine went everywhere.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Ronan - WHO DRINKS WINE IN THE SHOWER?

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Lara, people worried about the hygiene of naked wine drinking, obv.

Sarah, in my house the washed out look of white underwear is known as "chewing gum" white.

smee (smee), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:54 (twenty-three years ago)

Would you drink it out of one of those kiddy beakers though? I mean wouldn't shower water get into the glass?

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Not if you just slug it straight outta the bottle..classy...

smee (smee), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I give up/in. Whatever...

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry to disapoint, but I wasn't even wearing it. I'd had it on at work and changed to go to a party, putting white bra in a bag with some other clothes. Wine was spilt on bag, but I didn't realise until I got home, by which time it had stained.

(Ronan, who wears bras in the shower?)

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:58 (twenty-three years ago)

drinking in the shower seems like a very RAWK thing to do. Once you've worked up a sweat lugging the telly out of the hotel window, it would seem to be an understandable next step.

MarkH (MarkH), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 14:59 (twenty-three years ago)

I have never tried wine in the shower, but with beer you just hold your hand in the corner of the shower area or else outside the door over the mat.

God I've really got myself further into this thread than I wanted to. I suppose people who are extremely lazy or forgetful.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 15:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna, you mean you don't wear your bra in the shower while drinking wine? Sheesh, you are sooooo last season.

smee (smee), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 15:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I dance in the shower. It's dangerous, but also sexxxy and fun.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 15:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna may be so far behind that she's ahead of the times again.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 15:02 (twenty-three years ago)

*sobs* *chokes* Oh my GOD! No one has EVER accused ME of being LAST SEASON ever EVER before. This is, like, the WORST thing that could ever happen to me. *more sobbing*

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 15:04 (twenty-three years ago)

*composes self*

Yes, quite Lara. It's just a retro thing, you know no bra in the shower is totally right for the nineties revival.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 15:05 (twenty-three years ago)

see this is what I keep telling my friends.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

The only acceptable beige female underwear I have seen was kind of sparkly. Otherwise it tends to look rather dismal, I think.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 21:07 (twenty-three years ago)

yup. never wear beige underwear if you're trying to impress/likely to show anyone else your bra.

Mark C (Mark C), Wednesday, 5 February 2003 23:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark has learned this from terrible experience.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 10 February 2003 00:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmmmmm - about beige bras - is the purpose of this thread to discuss what is the most sexy/most attractive/most arousing color for bras, or the most useful and therefore (in my mind) favorite because it never lets one down?

For sex appeal, for me, it's black or emerald or deep red. But for favorite "the one I can't live without" bra colors, it has to be beige or another closely neutral color that matches my skin tone.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Monday, 10 February 2003 01:08 (twenty-three years ago)

are pink bras as unappealing as beige? because a well-chosen shade of pink can serve the same purpose under white shirts.

black is sexycool and utilitarian. well, it is if you mostly wear black underwear, because then it always matches in color anyway.

JuliaA (j_bdules), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Like I said, I prefer pink cuz my skin is pink, not beige.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Pink skinned freak!

Lara (Lara), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:32 (twenty-three years ago)

*gasp!*

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:35 (twenty-three years ago)

I've got a lovely pink bra. Not fleshy pink, but baby pink, with lacy flowers on it. It's yummy.

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:36 (twenty-three years ago)

You eat your own underwear?

Lara (Lara), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:38 (twenty-three years ago)

what flavor?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Consistency?

Lara (Lara), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:43 (twenty-three years ago)

persil non-bio flavour, I wouldn't really recommend it.

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:49 (twenty-three years ago)

no-one's mentioned whether to match pants or not.

I always wonder if it looks completely silly, wearing an amazing coloured bra, but with plain boring white or black pants.

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:50 (twenty-three years ago)

THEY MUST ALWAYS MATCH. THIS POINT CANNOT BE ARGUED.

Lara (Lara), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:52 (twenty-three years ago)

I dunno. I tend to go for the simple but pretty bra and crazy patterned undies myself. Or just solid colors on both.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:52 (twenty-three years ago)

But, of course, yes, THEY MUST MATCH.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:53 (twenty-three years ago)

As for fancy bras... (ok, this is only somewhat related, but anyway...) What is better than just wearing a bra and jeans around the house? Super sexy, I think...

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 15:54 (twenty-three years ago)

but they're so expensive! I bought a matching set and paid £14 for pants! (actually, it was even more extortionate, as they were g-strings and had v. little material in them)

It's fine to buy matching sets if you're a regular size and can get them anywhere, but if you have to buy decent expensive brands cos they're the only one's that'll fit, then finances don't stretch to knickers. And they're always such yucky material....

Vicky (Vicky), Monday, 10 February 2003 16:02 (twenty-three years ago)

But, of course, yes, THEY MUST MATCH.

This is difficult as often the bra I like only comes with G STRING ew rather than sensible big pants. I have solved this problem by mismatching on purpose. My favourite ensemble is bright blue bra with embroidered flowers and bright pink and white checked pants. Makes me feel a million dollars.

Madeleine (Madeleine), Monday, 10 February 2003 16:07 (twenty-three years ago)

But look like a fiver.

Lara (Lara), Monday, 10 February 2003 16:08 (twenty-three years ago)

It's not hard to match bras and panties if you have some solid colors of both.

But Madeleine, your little outfit matched cuz it was a pastel theme, right?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Monday, 10 February 2003 16:10 (twenty-three years ago)

Ouch. Luckily, no one looks so I can get away with it.
No, not pastel at all. Screaming bright colours. I only wear bright underwear because I wear black on the outside (because black...) all the time.

Madeleine (Madeleine), Monday, 10 February 2003 16:11 (twenty-three years ago)

How many bras do you ladies own? They're so expensive that I find although I would love a bright pink brassiere that I'm actually left with the two black ones in the drawer. HOwver, my housemate owns about 15, so the question stands, what is the average number of bras owned by a woman?

Sophie (Sophie), Monday, 10 February 2003 16:32 (twenty-three years ago)

N., the bra-fiend, started a thread about this: WOMEN: How many bras do you have?

Lara (Lara), Monday, 10 February 2003 16:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yes, I did do that.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:02 (twenty-three years ago)

(all my bra threads are prompted by other people)

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick's two and this one make 660 posts on bras.

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:05 (twenty-three years ago)

HOORAY BRAS FOR EVERYONE

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:08 (twenty-three years ago)

This one is mine too Graham. I can't remember what the 3rd one was now, but I know it was suggested by someone as a means of cheering me up.

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:11 (twenty-three years ago)

What's the point?

Lara (Lara), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:12 (twenty-three years ago)

So did it cheer you up?

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 17:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Ay-yi-yi - I cannot believe it: Somehow I missed being told, at some youthful age, that my panties and bras are supposed to match. Why wasn't I told this? Why are there not some PSAs about the topic? I cannot believe I have gone through my life being so inappropriately attired. Sheesh. I'll never leave the house again.

(Oh, and today it's a greyish "snow leopard print" (NO I did not pick it out!) bra and red and black checkered panties. *shuddering*

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Monday, 10 February 2003 21:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Someone selects your bras for you in the morning?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 10 February 2003 21:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought you did Nick.

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 22:13 (twenty-three years ago)

matching? pfff, that's for grannies

minna (minna), Monday, 10 February 2003 22:31 (twenty-three years ago)

*laughing* Yep, N. Easier that way - actually, I just rummage through the drawer 'til I find one that feels comfy - usually don't even bother opening my eyes.

Minna, thank you. As I am not a grannie, I need not worry about the matching crap. My mind is now at rest.

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Monday, 10 February 2003 22:52 (twenty-three years ago)

So why does N. keep his mornings free is not to let young ladies phone him up to ask "What goes with red and black checked panties?"

Graham (graham), Monday, 10 February 2003 23:32 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't keep my mornings free. When?

N. (nickdastoor), Monday, 10 February 2003 23:39 (twenty-three years ago)

You said you were working the lateshift and I just put correlated the evidence and it seemed like the only answer.

I will stop being cheeky now.

Graham (graham), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 14:02 (twenty-three years ago)

But your undies/bra match your clothes at least, right?

Actually, that rarely happens for me in the winter because I tend to wear grey and black and beige all the time but most of my underwear are bright colors or pastels. How embarassing! I'm totally ready for spring though. I have such a huge supply of floral prints.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 11 February 2003 14:06 (twenty-three years ago)

one year passes...
Haha I hit random 4 times and have come up with three different threads on bras, started by N. WTF? Anyway LEOPARD PRINT people.

Allyzay, Wednesday, 10 March 2004 08:14 (twenty-one years ago)

How come there aren't more super-fashion bras where the cups are different colors (ie, one is red, the other is green)?

Courtesy of those crazy French people at La Redoute:
http://image.redoute.com/images/REDOUTEUK/AH01/G/SA507B11G.JPG

nb. I would *never* wear this. Today I am wearing a pale green bra, see-through and non-matching plain black knickers. I do own the matching knickers, but was in too much of a rush to find them this morning. I'll just have to hope I don't get run over by a bus.

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 09:29 (twenty-one years ago)

that looks daft. my favourite bra colour is still dark blue. i could be swayed by dark purple and dark green too.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 09:59 (twenty-one years ago)

it does look daft. she should take it off.

i like white.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

ha, i am wearing pale green knickers and a black bra (couldn't be arsed looking for matching stuff - that's what married life does for you!).

I am madchen's underwear twin.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not wearing any underwear at all! But I am wearing clothes.

ipsofacto (ipsofacto), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:09 (twenty-one years ago)

My flatmate has this checkered, red and white back-to-the-fifties bra which looks simply great, especially with a matching pair of panties.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i find panties a funny word.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I find 'panties' a horrible word!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:21 (twenty-one years ago)

i used to hate the word "panties" too, but when rainy says it its funny.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:24 (twenty-one years ago)

its seriously a CREEPY word though. i mean it just screams infantilization.

The Lady Ms Lurex (lucylurex), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Exactly!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

yes. its funny weird not funny haha.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Di is right, it's a creepy word uttered by dirty old men in raincoats. Oh & rainy!! ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:31 (twenty-one years ago)

nonono its common parlance. THATS whats weird.

mullygrubber (gaz), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I was just trying to find a pic of my bra & someone walked in to see a webpage full of ladeez in bras!! Oops!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:34 (twenty-one years ago)

i prefer see through bras!!!

gaol clichy (clichy), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 10:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Mind you, being a foreigner I'm not familiar with all the intricacies of the English language. I thought "panties" was a perfectly ordinary word.

Tuomas (Tuomas), Wednesday, 10 March 2004 12:19 (twenty-one years ago)

It is. FOR P0RN.

@d@ml (nordicskilla), Thursday, 11 March 2004 00:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I think that two-tone bra is lovely.

N. (nickdastoor), Thursday, 11 March 2004 00:33 (twenty-one years ago)

six months pass...
The bra can be in several colors.
Never in red!!!!
But the more interesting are black and white.
Any way there are some colors I enjoy like the fucsia ( a kind of blue)

Joshwa, Thursday, 7 October 2004 16:21 (twenty-one years ago)

What a nice poem!

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 7 October 2004 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

post-haiku.

My Dinner With Little Lord Travolta (nordicskilla), Thursday, 7 October 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Braku?

j.lu (j.lu), Thursday, 7 October 2004 18:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Since when is fuchsia a kind of blue?!

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 7 October 2004 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Shhhh. Nod and smile.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Thursday, 7 October 2004 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Fuchsia isn't blue, but fucsia is.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 7 October 2004 18:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Purple!

jocelyn (Jocelyn), Thursday, 7 October 2004 18:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Spin Magazine was right on in the late 80s with the observation that a black bra under a white t-shirt is the epitome of hotness.

Actually it wasn't true from like 1994-2002 but it's back to being true again.

Begs2Differ (Begs2Differ), Thursday, 7 October 2004 19:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Red is the color of Christmas presents!

Gold Teeth II (kenan), Thursday, 7 October 2004 19:14 (twenty-one years ago)

That's not actually a bra, though. And it's rather gratuitous as well. Moderator, edit me.

Gold Teeth II (kenan), Thursday, 7 October 2004 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Moderator, slap him while you're at it.

I don't see anything wrong with red bras.

Confession time - I currently don't own a black bra. *gasp!* *Well, I never!* *Oh, my!* - Ok, now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 7 October 2004 19:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Moderator, slap him while you're at it.

And a cold garden hose wouldn't be out of line, either.

Gold Teeth II (kenan), Thursday, 7 October 2004 19:38 (twenty-one years ago)

one month passes...
I am reviving this thread because it's hilarious.
