Curiosity calls. I'm new here, so I'm trying to get a bit of an idea of who ILXers are.

Also: How many of you have met outside of this cushy anonymous web thing? How many of you have, um... shall we say, "hooked up"?

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:36 (twenty-three years ago)

26 - been posting for as long as i've been bored at work - approx 1 year. don't go on FAP's as they are mostly (uk anyway, London centered)

james (james), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:37 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry... FAP's? I take it that's an ILX term for "meeting in real life"?

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:40 (twenty-three years ago)

"fancy a pint" - the FAQ explains most of it

james (james), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:44 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 32, and my first ILE post was in October 02, though I've been posting to ILM since the spring of 01. I've been to one Toronto FAP. Don't know if they'll have me back for another one. Going through the intoduce yourselves pages might be a good idea, um, skittles.

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:44 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm 25 in two weeks - i'd be cool with this only my life isnt quite how i want it, but then who's is eh?

i've been posting solidly to ILM and to a lesser extent ILE for about 7 months having flirted with the old greenspun versions once in a blue moon

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:45 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm 20, i've been posting to ilx since it started (with ilm, in late 2k). it's dangerous.

mitch lastnamewithheld (mitchlnw), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Who here has met other ILM/ILE posters in Real Life?

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:50 (twenty-three years ago)

i have been posting for 4 yrs i think, and am 22.

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:51 (twenty-three years ago)

27, maybe a year or two?

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:52 (twenty-three years ago)

20; semi-regular ilxor since Sept. '01, or thereabouts.

Justyn Dillingham (Justyn Dillingham), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:54 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 25, and my first post was about a year ago maybe; I can't really remember. I've only been posting regularly since last November or so.

I've never been to an FAP, but I've met quite a lot of ILXors in real life due to a certain other interweb mentalist hobby.

caitlin (caitlin), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:55 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm 21,been posting for about two years,i'd guess, although probably not as regularly as i do now...

robin (robin), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:55 (twenty-three years ago)

Ambrose - that's quite an achievement since ILX in any form has existed for less than 3 years!

I'm 24, and I've been posting/reading ILX/lurking to varying degrees since about June 2001, I think.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:57 (twenty-three years ago)

24, have been posting for a couple of months and my time here will shortly be coming to an end

j0e (j0e), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 12:59 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 25. I think my first post was on October 8th, 2002. So, I really haven't been around that long, but I've posted a hell of a lot.

I met J.Lu and Aaron Grossman at a DC FAP. Nick A. lives with me so I see him every day. I went to school with Yanc3y and Charlie W. and Clarke B. (last 2 mostly post on ILM). And I know stolenbus. Ok, I think that's it...?

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Why, j0e?

Sarah McLusky (coco), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 24 years old, I've been posting here since sometime last fall. Tis only one other ILXor I've met outside of these virtual confines, and I knew him years before this "place" even existed.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:01 (twenty-three years ago)

New job, Sarah - so I won't have time to post during the day cos I'll be far too busy (which will make a nice change). I may still post sporadically in the evenings tho

j0e (j0e), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:01 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm 20. i've posted on ilm since february 2002. started on ILE as well in the summer of 2002. i focus mainly on ILM these days. i've met a few of the irish ilxers.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:02 (twenty-three years ago)

hstencil, did you post under a different name until recently?

twenty-two and since late two thousand and one.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 27 & have been posting here (or reading at least) for about a year.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:11 (twenty-three years ago)

I haven't attended a FAP altho I'm intrigued. I live in Cambridge & most UK FAPs are in London.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:12 (twenty-three years ago)

keep posting joe, i need the larfs

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Pinkpanther, How far apart are the two?

Sarah McLUsky (coco), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that I've been friends with Sean Carruthers for a long time (13 years or so) and that he was the one who got me to come here. BLAME CRUDDERS.

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:14 (twenty-three years ago)

RJG, I've mostly always posted under hstencil. Unless I'm adapting a pseudonym for a bad joke, or (similarly) posting as Geir Honky.

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:17 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah j0e do what we who have jobs do - post when no one is looking, and if anyone questions your work decline blame it on a co-worker

james (james), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:18 (twenty-three years ago)

i am 40 yeah FORTY yrs old & i been posting here since i dunno, since ilxor.com started or a bit before that (can't remember)

duane, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:20 (twenty-three years ago)

i mean i can't remember when ilxor.com started

duane, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:21 (twenty-three years ago)

heh heh. we'll see how it goes.

j0e (j0e), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:21 (twenty-three years ago)

Sarah - the distance between Cambridge & London is about an hour (ish). FAPs are usually during the week & I'd have to get drunk, but getting horribly drunk on a school nite can be a complete nitemare. (altho not impossible!!) Right, when's the next one in London, I'm getting the train and coming down!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:22 (twenty-three years ago)

24 in two weeks; first post here was in summer of 2001. Presence since then sporadic, but pretty regular and frequent for the last six months or so (ie; since I started a job where I can surf all day!). Not been to an FAP yet cos I live in Devon and it's oot thar weigh; one day I will organise a trip to Londinium and an FAP to match.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:23 (twenty-three years ago)

27, been posting here in one form or another since September last year. I was gonna give it all up once I started this here new job but my resolve is too weak....

smee (smee), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I have recently turned 22 for the 11th time. Har har, I mean, I'm 33. Yikes. I'm old and I've done nothing with my life. I have been posting here... jeez, basically since it started. Late 2000, I think?

I live with 2 ILX'ers. That's how engrained into my life it is. I will say nothing of hooking up. I know some has done it, but even attempting to do so was utterly fucking disasterous for me. :-(

kate, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 25 next month (so yes, 24!!), live in London, soon transplanting to California, and I have been posting here for nearly 6 months. I have not met any ILX0rs, but I will this week :)

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:34 (twenty-three years ago)

PinkPanther - details here.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:35 (twenty-three years ago)

And Nick Southall - any chance you will come up to london in the next couple of months? I'd come to your FAP, but I'm leaving soon...

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:36 (twenty-three years ago)

28, been posting here and ilm for about a year and three months. I know no one on here. dan p. is closest to where i live.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:37 (twenty-three years ago)

oh and i have not hooked up with him.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:40 (twenty-three years ago)

"i think". *searches*. ok it is only 2 yrs! good guess huh

ambrose (ambrose), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Matt - so is it this Saturday then?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:42 (twenty-three years ago)

42, posting since early 2001, met c.40 ilxers irl (?), all now friends (i hope), which = a fantastic unexpected bonus*

*this is bcz when v.small and a (not but nearly founder) member of the puffin club i lived too far away from london to get to all the cool puffin club parties and outings :(

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:42 (twenty-three years ago)

oh and i have not hooked up with him.

It's a wonderful image.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:43 (twenty-three years ago)

I will be 25 in June. Have been lurking for about a year, have been posting for about 2-3 months.

Carey (Carey), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:44 (twenty-three years ago)

(like meeting spike milligan when he played ben gunn in treasure island)

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:44 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 22 and I've been here since the beginning, scarily.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:44 (twenty-three years ago)

23, on ilx since dec 2000. i go to most london faps, and have done since late 2001.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Ally by Usenet years I think you would be 30 or so by now. ;-)

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:45 (twenty-three years ago)

My information is classified and cannot be revealed.

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:46 (twenty-three years ago)

God, usenet...hehe. I still wonder if Geir knows who I am?

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Oo, it makes me wonder. ;-)

32, here since the start. Fear!

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:54 (twenty-three years ago)

You still here in June, Nordicskillz?

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:56 (twenty-three years ago)

PP - nope, this Thursday.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Really, you're all lucky I changed my posting handle. I mean, I'm not lucky, it was the stupidest thing ever, but imagine if I was still posting as Lulu? Fucking G0nd0la B0b AHOY!

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:58 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 30 and I've been on here almost from the beginning.

chris (chris), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 13:59 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah sorry I meant Thursday! Who will be there? (scaredy cat newbie!)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You still here in June, Nordicskillz?

Just barely. Leaving on the 9th!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:01 (twenty-three years ago)

PP, I've never met them either - u won't be alone!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Kate, Ned... any kids?? Anyone, for that matter??

And, Kate, why was attempting to hook up so disastrous for you??

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 24. I started posting to ILM in late February and to ILE in early March of this year. I knew three ILx0rs before I posted here: I went to high school with Buttch, and Nabisco and Hstencil are both friends-of-friends. (But I didn't actually know that any of them were here when I first showed up!) I've been to one FAP, but it was only for like a half hour, so it doesn't really count.

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:07 (twenty-three years ago)

24, been posting since December 2001, or thereabouts.

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Kate, Ned... any kids??

Kate and I have four bouncing baby boys. We sold them on the black market, though.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:10 (twenty-three years ago)

"Kate and I have four bouncing baby boys. We sold them on the black market, though. " --

HA, I forgot this is the Hip Crowd. I should've known better than to expect a straight answer!!!

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:12 (twenty-three years ago)

29, since a month or so before 911 with a couple of breaks thrown in.

Oh, and I knew some people here IRL before ilx was born.

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Why assume that Ned or I have kids? Cause we're the only ones to admitting being over 30 yet? No, no kids yet, quite sadly.

Attempting to hook up via ILX was disasterous for the obvious reason - it didn't work out, and not only did that render a former friendship uncomfortable and awkward, but it also made ILX such an uncomfortable and awkward place that I had to stop posting for many months.

As discussed on other threads, my current boyfriend is aware of the existence of ILX (and aware that he is discussed, albeit in a favourable light) but he neither reads nor contributes to it, which I think both of us are fine with, and understand the need for.

kate, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Har har, I missed an opportunity to be filthy through reading that as Kate or Ned, not Kate and Ned! Drat!

kate, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:14 (twenty-three years ago)

No, Kate, please do not be filthy. It would upset my most delicate sensibilities and destroy the potential of our engaging in correspondence as a community here...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:24 (twenty-three years ago)

But it is my function on ILX to get drunk and talk about ass! Do not deny me my schtick! Without schtick I am nothing!

kate, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:25 (twenty-three years ago)

I have 2 children, Tatiana and Quinn. They're right bitches and they only speak Russian because their father refuses to speak English, it's horrible communciating with them.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:26 (twenty-three years ago)

I'd still like you if you had no schtick, kate.

But still, it's fun to talk about ass.

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I love Ally.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:29 (twenty-three years ago)

I have 122 children, thugz in training. all of 'em.

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:29 (twenty-three years ago)

getting drunk? Aren't you at work??

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Although I think the English are known for long pub lunches, I'm fairly certain Kate doesn't work 24/7, skittles.

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I gots 5 kids myself... but my babies' momma could tell you more about 'em than me... 'course, she can't read or write... but, oh well...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:33 (twenty-three years ago)

You guys aren't taking me seriously, you try having two slutty Russian daughters in a 500 sq. ft. apartment.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:35 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 22 and have posted here on-and-off under varying states of psychological confusion/sleep deprivation since August or September '01, have met Arthur, Ned and Spencer in what was more or less "real" life, and have known Ally online since her Lulu days and escapades.

Vic, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:36 (twenty-three years ago)

"It's fun to talk about ass"

Yes, it is.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 23. I think I first looked at ILx in September of 2001 when Madchen_in_Uniform told me about it. I don't think I've really said anything worthwhile to date. I've met a few ilxors in my time.

Mandee, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Let's talk about ass!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:41 (twenty-three years ago)

28, posting since last fall

kephm, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:41 (twenty-three years ago)

sorry, Ally, couldn't access that link... exactly why are they so "slutty"???

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:41 (twenty-three years ago)

"I'm fairly certain Kate doesn't work 24/7, skittles" --

oops. I suppose the thought of regularly posting OUTSIDE of the killing-boredom-on-your-job thing didn't occur to me...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:42 (twenty-three years ago)

Ally's daughters are TaTu, Skittles.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey! Hey you! Are you trying to look at my ASS?!?!?

http://gfx.dagbladet.no/kultur/2002/03/04/EL_69d25klp.jpg

kate, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Man. You guys are too hip for me.

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:46 (twenty-three years ago)

They wish they were taTu. They walk around in their cheap ass communist makeup and beads, I'm like, yo, you, Russian kid, you're five, take off that slap, and she's like, gavareet pa rooski! And I'm all, whatever, have some ice cream, Tatiana, it'll set you straight.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:47 (twenty-three years ago)

sergei rebrov should join tatu, he could do dynamo rap

gareth (gareth), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:47 (twenty-three years ago)

ass is the new hip!

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:49 (twenty-three years ago)

"They wish they were taTu. They walk around in their cheap ass communist makeup and beads, I'm like, yo, you, Russian kid, you're five, take off that slap, and she's like, gavareet pa rooski! And I'm all, whatever, have some ice cream, Tatiana, it'll set you straight. " --

and so you turn to your friends at ILX... Ahhhh...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:50 (twenty-three years ago)

Right now I'm imagining this hideous cross between taTu and the Cheeky Girls.

kate, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:51 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 29, and I started posting pretty much the same time as Mandee and Samantha - September 2001, give or take a month or so. I am stepping out with someone who posts to ILE, but so infrequently I don't think she's racked up double figures yet. And we didn't meet through it :)

Mark C (Mark C), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:52 (twenty-three years ago)

i'm 36 and 5 days.

Erik, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I actually do have a son; his 4th birthday is like 20 days away.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I ain't got no friends on ILX! WTF!

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:58 (twenty-three years ago)

i actually did believe kate was 22 until this thread, altho it didnt quite add up, haha

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 14:58 (twenty-three years ago)

"I ain't got no friends on ILX! WTF! " --

Ally... Ally... *tsk tsk* I have yet to browse a thread that doesn't feature some Ally-worship... In the pantheon of bronze ILX gods, there most certainly is an Ally statue...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:04 (twenty-three years ago)

*sniff* I thought Ally was my friend. *cries*

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:05 (twenty-three years ago)

27, from day one of ILE.

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:07 (twenty-three years ago)

::sobs::

I wish I merited a statue. All I ever get is ass.

kate, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:09 (twenty-three years ago)

stence, you are totally a wuss. Crybaby.

So, who is absolute skittles anyway? It's a mystery up there with Keyser Soze in my mind right now.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:10 (twenty-three years ago)

there's a statue of you kate, in my mind at least.

(okay that just sounds dumb)

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:11 (twenty-three years ago)

sergei rebrov should join tatu, he could do dynamo rap

If I was Tatu's manager, I'd employ Sergei Rebrov and then not let him sing on any of the records or appear in any of the videos. It would really piss him off.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:11 (twenty-three years ago)

You'd still have to pay him.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:12 (twenty-three years ago)

you'd think he'd be used to it by now

chris (chris), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Vanilla Ice should join tATu, he could do ninja rap.

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:17 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 34. So I'm also old and have done nothing with my life. Except make an art form of bemoaning the fact.

I first posted sommat on here last Summer sometime. Never posted regularly until a few months ago though. And I'm posting ver little atm because I'm rather cabbaged and don't feel like resorting to potty humour...

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:18 (twenty-three years ago)

34 is not old! I dated a 41 year-old last summer...

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:19 (twenty-three years ago)

20, been posting here a year and around 9 months, I did not date Hstencil last summmer.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:20 (twenty-three years ago)

It may be dumb, but it sure made me feel better, hstencil! Rest assured, there is a statue of you in my mind, too. Wearing nothing but a figleaf.

kate, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:20 (twenty-three years ago)

mmm.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:21 (twenty-three years ago)

oi, hi 'gain, everybody
i'm a 'postrophe-luvin', erratically-postin', forty-three yer ol' paleface who stumbled upon ilm round last x'mas (and who since then has, a.o. other t'ings, asked mark s the dreadful question about his book 'bout three times too many, i phear. oh well...)

i gotta two "kids" too - the boy bastard'll be nineteen in three days, actually

never seen any ilxor "for real". and i think that'll hardly ever happen (unless i should run across Tuomas in Tallinn some day, or 'll win a fortune something and 'll start travelling furiously

t\'\'t (t\'\'t), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:22 (twenty-three years ago)

23, since the begining of ILE, I am in holy bedlock with another person who posts here.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:23 (twenty-three years ago)

27, posting from the start (though not so much anymore)

RickyT (RickyT), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:23 (twenty-three years ago)

GO NINJA GO NINJA GO!

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Kate:

Tell ya what, I'll erect a statue of you for now... but it'll only be made out of papier-mache or something, just in case you turn out to be way too cool for me... that way, I can tear it down with gleeful, childish abandon...

Ally:

I'm still figuring "who is absolute skittles?" myself. On the long, hard road to self-discovery... I'm still stuck at a rest stop somewhere, munching on a stale honey-bun and making goo-goo eyes at the weary redhead working the Burger King counter...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:24 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm almost 24. I've been posting here for like a year and a half maybe. I live with Sarah McLusky as she so kindly mentioned above. And I know the same people she does, Yanc3y, Charlie W., Clarke B., and stolenbus, all from college.

Nick A. (Nick A.), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm so glad none of the people I knew from school come here.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Nick, tell us -- what is the REAL Sarah like?

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:33 (twenty-three years ago)

29
since 2001

toraneko (toraneko), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I wouldn't trust someone called Sarah.

(Oh yes, I'm 21 and god knows how long I've been posting, although I met half of these chaps in the boozer before I had interweb access so ILX-space would have been before I actually started posting yar).

Hello Dave (starry), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 30 and since.. I dunno - last September-ish? (And I actually do have a 5 year old son).

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:36 (twenty-three years ago)

34 feels older when you haven't done the things you'd hoped you'd do, I guess, like be successful and meet someone special and have people in your life who don't fuck with you.

But, uh, age is a state of mind. That's what they sat isn't it? So maybe I'm really 73. :-)

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:37 (twenty-three years ago)

God, am I, like, the only one not from the U.K. or NYC here?!?!?

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:37 (twenty-three years ago)

sat = say

Unless you prefer sat.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:38 (twenty-three years ago)

There are Canadians here as well, skittles, but we don't count.

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I've made two good friends and one really close one through ILX. At least it's good for something...

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:39 (twenty-three years ago)

27, posting from the start (though not so much anymore)

ILX needs more badger love.

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:40 (twenty-three years ago)

God, am I, like, the only one not from the U.K. or NYC here?!?!?

Uh, no.

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:40 (twenty-three years ago)

jaymc, you're HOTTT!

buttch (Oops), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:41 (twenty-three years ago)

"34 feels older when you haven't done the things you'd hoped you'd do, I guess, like be successful and meet someone special and have people in your life who don't fuck with you." --

you know what, though?? people feel that way, regardless of their age or accomplishments in life. No one ever seems to be truly able to just kick back and enjoy what they have or what they've done, so someone who allegedly has all those things that you indicate you're missing isn't necessarily any more "settled" or "satisfied" than you are. It's all about what you project, maybe...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:43 (twenty-three years ago)

26 (and a half!), posting since summer of last year with a little time off here and there. Didn't really start figuring this place out or attaching a personality to any of the posters until my first FAP in October. Had met/interacted with a few ILXors before.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:43 (twenty-three years ago)

"Jody Beth"... I like the way that sounds.

(Don't ask)

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Christine, as long as your ass ain't 73, don't sweat it.

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 30. I have posted twice, both within the last month. I'm super-new. I have never attended a FAP, although I do know Bryan and Sean from their days in the Javier Perez de Cueller Trio.

Jodi (Celerina), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:48 (twenty-three years ago)

YAY JODI!!! WAY TO DE-LURK!!!

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Thank you Mr. Skittles. It's no "Jess," though.

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:50 (twenty-three years ago)

What I would ask is, am I the only person on here from the West Midlands/Birmingham region. Must be a minority thing. Like I need more confirmation of this area being dead!

You might be right about being satisfied, skittles. I don't know. I can only guess that if I'd made more of my life I'd be happier. It doesn't mean I give up or anything... but being ten years younger would seem less intimidating the way I feel atm.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:50 (twenty-three years ago)

No, my ass isn't 73. J-Lo's ass is 73. Mine's not even close.

(You mean inches, I assume.)

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Wow Luna, I didn't know you had a kid too!

*argh...must...resist...ILE...crush...how do I tell these people I have no inner monologue?*

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:55 (twenty-three years ago)

...resistance is futile...

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Javier Perez de Cueller Trio

!!!

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:58 (twenty-three years ago)

23 and nearly 3 yrs of posting (I think).

I only realized that ILE existed after 2 years posting on ILM so i never met anyone until then (all faps organised on ILE) (I actually met most of toronto's ILXORS first). I have now met most london ILXORS.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 15:59 (twenty-three years ago)

I have met only 3 ilxors ever, and it's not because of ilx, I knew them before that. That is so pathetic, it's like I'm the Anti-Ned!

Nicole (Nicole), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey nickalicious! I hope your kid has a happy birthday! What are you getting him? What are kids into these days? (don't say Fishbone)

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:01 (twenty-three years ago)

My whole thing is I bounce around, from time to time, looking for the newest Web sensation to temporarily hold my interest during my daytime office-rat hours... I've lost interest in pretty much everything I've stumbled across, though, except for one "e-pal" I keep in touch with from a brief stint at LiveJournal...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:03 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yeah, I met Aaron Grossman and j. lu at DC FAP also.

Nick A. (Nick A.), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:04 (twenty-three years ago)

A lot of the Web bores me too. I've put a lot of effort into finding places to hold me and people to connect with, to little avail. I ought to just get a real life, I guess.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:06 (twenty-three years ago)

31. Started posting in November or December of last year, lurked for maybe a month before that. I've met two ILX regulars IRL (knew one before coming here), and at least two people who post sporadically. Hope to meet up with the rest of the Chi-town crew eventually.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:07 (twenty-three years ago)

FISHBONE! MUAHAHAHA!

Seriously though, I'm thinking about getting him a really nice kite. They made & flew kites at his pre-school last week, and he really got a kick out of that, so...

As for "what kids are into these days", I'm not exactly sure. Thanks to no cable-or-TV recently, we're quite the out-of-touch-with-pop-culture family, which ROX.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:09 (twenty-three years ago)

it's like I'm the Anti-Ned!

Actually, how many ILX people have I met? *thinks* Almost fifteen alone from NZ and Australia...

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:11 (twenty-three years ago)

Aaron is 22 and lives near DC.
He has been posting since June or July of 2002, and he lurked for a few months before then.
He has met, in order: Gareth (Outside Metro System Entrance/Exit), J.Lu (At Pizzeria), Mary (At Hirschorn Museum), Geeta (Outside Hotel), Tom M, Sarah McL, and Nick A (Outside Metro System Entrance/Exit), all for FAPs.
This is the first time Aaron has posted in the 3rd person, and it will be his last as well.

Aaron Grossman (aajjgg), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:11 (twenty-three years ago)

boys (pre-teen and down) are into Yu-Gi-Oh! which is like a Pokemon type card thing. Wrestling is big. Rap music of course. And video games. Kids today aren't too original. . .

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:12 (twenty-three years ago)

Hotwheels, nick, hotwheeeeeeels.

(I was dismayed to find how many Spencer has when he had to do some project for school involving 100 things about a month ago, and he was at my mom's house - where lives about 1/4 of his total collection - and came up with 100 easily, with cars to spare. No wonder I'm broke).

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:13 (twenty-three years ago)

Thanks to no cable-or-TV recently, we're quite the out-of-touch-with-pop-culture family, which ROX.

Nick, you should be a father to all of us.

"I've put a lot of effort into finding places to hold me and people to connect with, to little avail." --

Christine, that's the thing. The sooner you put honest effort into something involving any kind of human connection, the sooner the Gods of Fate (or whatever the fuck) are going to make sure you fall straight on your ass...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:15 (twenty-three years ago)

Wrestling is big. Rap music of course. And video games. Kids today aren't too original. . .

Neither is Dom Passantino, obviously... :P

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:15 (twenty-three years ago)

...going to make sure you fall straight on your ass... but if it's a 73-inch ass, you've got lots of padding and it shouldn't hurt too much.

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:16 (twenty-three years ago)

I've noticed. I've always wanted to be blase, but I've never quite managed it...

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:17 (twenty-three years ago)

Lukas (my boy) has hella amounts of hotwheels (although nothing like THAT! yowzah!), and GOODNESS GRACIOUS they can really hurt yr feet to step on them barefoot.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:17 (twenty-three years ago)

"The sooner you put honest effort into something involving any kind of human connection, the sooner the Gods of Fate (or whatever the fuck) are going to make sure you fall straight on your ass..." --

or, at least, that's how I explained it when my fiancee discovered foam ass-pads in my boxers last week...

*sigh*

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:18 (twenty-three years ago)

My ass is a mere 39", BTW.

Actually, that's probably quite big, really. Oh well.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:19 (twenty-three years ago)

GOODNESS GRACIOUS they can really hurt yr feet to step on them barefoot.

See also, lego.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a scar on the underside of my foot; y'know what put it there? A CORNER OF A LEGO.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:22 (twenty-three years ago)

haha

buttch (Oops), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:23 (twenty-three years ago)

I mean, that's unfortunate

buttch (Oops), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:24 (twenty-three years ago)

Christine, your ass sounds just fine to me!

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:24 (twenty-three years ago)

"Christine, your ass sounds just fine to me!" --

yes, what he said!

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:27 (twenty-three years ago)

Shame I don't have that Webcam yet. :-)

(Prompted by Bryan.)

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:30 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a scar on the underside of my foot; y'know what put it there? A CORNER OF A LEGO

It is rumored that this could also conceivably happen maybe if one were say, stumbling around drunk one night in the dark, and perhaps tripped and sat down awfully hard and landed ON A PILE OF LEGO.

Not um, that that's happened to anyone I know or anything. Nor did said person have a lego shaped bruise (with the little dots) on her butt for a week afterwards.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:32 (twenty-three years ago)

Luna stop being such a kindred-alicious spirit!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:35 (twenty-three years ago)

!!!!!!!!!!! (to Sean's post. Not the ass post. You've got my dimensions just about, you roxor obv.)

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:35 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm sorry, I won't do it anymore.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:36 (twenty-three years ago)

legos have all the fun

buttch (Oops), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:38 (twenty-three years ago)

"Shame I don't have that Webcam yet. :-)" --

why, yes, and then you'd be deluged with a veritable SLEW (or is it "stew"? connotations: hot 'n steamy) of willing suitors...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:38 (twenty-three years ago)

(you can't stop, you have no choice, muahaha! You're like the west coast total-hottie-version mom-alicious, it's a very good thing!)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I got lego for my 24th birthday. ha!

jel -- (jel), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:40 (twenty-three years ago)

It's also rumored that it HURT.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:41 (twenty-three years ago)

Well natch! My mom says my lego accident (from which I bled profusely) was karma for when I was a youngun and they asked me to clean up the legos cuz it hurt their feet to come into my room and I said "well just don't come in here" (I was like 8 at the time). Karma's a bitch.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:45 (twenty-three years ago)

I think that's a perfectly sensible answer.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:48 (twenty-three years ago)

27 years old, posting since September, and I am secretly Ally's slutty Russian daughters.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:51 (twenty-three years ago)

You are not, you're their father.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Legos rock, parents r all gay.

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 24. Been posting since fall 2002... maybe? Never been to a FAP, but Nickalicious and I are going to organize a Lexington FAP, which will pretty much be me and him drinking and playing videogames or something.

cprek (cprek), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:55 (twenty-three years ago)

You are not, you're their father.

[Really funny joke that spoils Chinatown goes HERE.]

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Polanski's direction WAS the "really funny joke" that spoiled Chinatown!!

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 16:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Ok, that was pretty fucking funny.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:04 (twenty-three years ago)

cprek, you and nickalicious should come up to Louisville to FAP with NYCers this weekend!

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I liked Chinatown, dammit. I'll gang up on Two Jakes, but Chinatown is gold.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Derby? possibly...

cprek (cprek), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:07 (twenty-three years ago)

actually, I just couldn't resist blurting that one out there...

Truth is: "Chinatown" is a proud member of my DVD family, but I made the mistake of reading the script before I saw the film, and there were too many snappy lil' one-liners and comebacks that were totally left out. In the opening scene with Curly (script), after Curly mentions to Jake that he thinks he'll ice his cheatin' wife, I kinda liked how Jake said something to the effect of, "you dumb son-of-a-bitch, you think you got that kinda class? That kinda DOUGH? You gotta be rich to kill anybody in this town". Polanski probably felt it was TOO on-the-nose, though... the foreshadowing way too obvious.

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:14 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 2 and a half years old and have been posting here for 36 years.

Andrew L (Andrew L), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:17 (twenty-three years ago)

goo goo ga ga

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:23 (twenty-three years ago)

get off this computer at once and go clean up your room! And get all those damn Legos off the floor!

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:25 (twenty-three years ago)

If you don't like 'em, don't come in here.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:28 (twenty-three years ago)

I haven't played with Legos in at least a year!

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:31 (twenty-three years ago)

27, and I still play with Legos.

And I'd like to play Legos with luna.

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I am useless with lego because I can never get the little fuckers apart

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:38 (twenty-three years ago)

STOP SAYING LEGOS

lego, pl.lego

it's like benedict arnold never existed

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Plural of "lego" is "lego"? Oy, my brain hurts.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:41 (twenty-three years ago)

"Plural of "lego" is "lego"? Oy, my brain hurts." --

They say English is a strange language, don't they?...

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:43 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah but Lego is Swedish or something. Either way, I called 'em Legos at 5, I call 'em that now too.

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:44 (twenty-three years ago)

He's just mad because he doesn't have any lego.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Danish. In either case, your crazy laws of pluralization do not apply here.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:45 (twenty-three years ago)

luna, would you like to see my moon colony?

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:46 (twenty-three years ago)

That's a euphemism, right?

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:47 (twenty-three years ago)

no, it's a set. We can use it to come up with new euphemisms, if you like.

Wanna get zero gravity?

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:48 (twenty-three years ago)

i am 25 (until june), and have been posting regularly since like last December I think. but sorta popped in every now and then for like a year before hand.

Horace Mann (Horace Mann), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 17:48 (twenty-three years ago)

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:00 (twenty-three years ago)

luna do you like Operation? Y'know, you're the doctor, it's a wacky nutty game?

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:01 (twenty-three years ago)

You want me to admit I liked playing doctor. I see right through it.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:04 (twenty-three years ago)

and... on to a new thread!

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Less dirty Legos, more dirty MLP.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:05 (twenty-three years ago)

Operation? That's the one where you pick the bones out of the metal-lined slots isn't it? I used to have that. I was rubbish at it.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:06 (twenty-three years ago)

I never liked that game b/c I hated getting shocked. Wasn't the funny bone the hardest one to get?

That Girl (thatgirl), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:06 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh! I have to tell my story about playing doctor.

When I was little, my parents had our family friends over for dinner once. They had two boys, one a little younger than me and one my sister's age. We decided she (my sister) would be pregnant and we would deliver the baby. She went in her room to get in bed and shut the door. I knocked on it and said, "The doctor is ready to see you." Then we all came in the room (myself and the 2 neighbor boys). The boy her age decided to be the doctor so he was carrying our little doctor briefcase. He lifted the sheet and she was naked underneath! She yelled and the boys ran out of the room. I was like, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? I CAN;T BELIEVE YOU!" She simply wimpered, "I thought you were gonna be the doctor."

OTM.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh yeah, the script beats the direction, no doubt -- there's a reason it's used in umpteen screenwriting classes (and that reason is that Robert Towne is a whore. Wait, no).

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:10 (twenty-three years ago)

I had a similar experience with Schrader's screenplay for "Taxi Driver", although I'm certainly not saying the film is lacking.

In the coffee shop scene btwn. Travis and Betsy, there's a nice part in the script where he talks about what he sees in the cab, along the lines of you-won't-beileve-what-people-do. Then, his monologue slowly turns bitter, and he finally says "It's like you're not even there. Like you're not even human". I thought this would've been cool to see in the film, but the film certainly isn't hurting because of its exclusion.

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:17 (twenty-three years ago)

and, yeah, I know this is going in more of an ILF direction, but -- hey -- better than "sexy Legos" or whatever!!

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:22 (twenty-three years ago)

you're crazy. Nothing's better than sexy Legos!

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:28 (twenty-three years ago)

There are about 8 billion things better.

Ally (mlescaut), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:29 (twenty-three years ago)

Ally, do you hate sexy Lego fun?

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:31 (twenty-three years ago)

MLP = more lego porn, obv.

But no, no, it's not sexy. It's too... pointy

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:32 (twenty-three years ago)

luna, I'm not gonna even go near that set-up.

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:33 (twenty-three years ago)

I hate it when I do that.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:34 (twenty-three years ago)

heh, sorry. ; )

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it possible for one to indulge in the pornographic objectification of Legos and still enjoy great cinema?

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:36 (twenty-three years ago)

I suppose so, I never thought to ask.

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:36 (twenty-three years ago)

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Is it possible for one to indulge in the pornographic objectification of Legos and still enjoy great cinema?

You've seen the Lego movies, right? Like the Star Wars ones and all?

All it takes is one well-placed Lego lightsaber.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:39 (twenty-three years ago)

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:39 (twenty-three years ago)

geeta (geeta), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:40 (twenty-three years ago)

20, and a year.

Bring back Dr. C and mitch (post more you bitches!)

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I think you ARE Roger Ebert. Yes. It all makes sense now...

buttch (Oops), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:40 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 43. I've been posting here about a year, ILM a bit before that, but I post and read little there these days. I've met most of the London people, 30 or 40 I guess, and a few guests from elsewhere. I've never hooked up with anyone here - I've proposed to at least a dozen ILXers, but no takers yet, sadly.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:44 (twenty-three years ago)

No, I'm actually Gene Siskel.

(just as long as I'm any Chicago film critic besides Richard fuckin' Roeper)

hstencil, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:46 (twenty-three years ago)

"(just as long as I'm any Chicago film critic besides Richard fuckin' Roeper)" --

ooooooh. This is my fiancee and I watching Ebert and Roeper's review show this past Saturday:

ME: "I dunno... there's just something about Roeper... I mean, he called Amanda Peet an A-list star, for God's sake. He's just too... too nice..."

FIANCEE: "Is he gay?"

absolute skittles, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:52 (twenty-three years ago)

My friend Brian affectionately calls Ebert & Roeper "Fatman & Jackass."

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 18:57 (twenty-three years ago)

I am a week younger than Jody Beth. I have been reading ILX since probably day one, and have been posting for a year and a half?

rosemary (rosemary), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 19:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Uggles... 19 years old, been posting ILM since last June, ILE since a few months later, as I originally thought it was called I Love Everything as a sort of pisstake.

Have met about 15 or 16 of the London ILX types, possibly meeting some of them again Thursday if I have money; also met Dom Passantino on a good few occasions (well, three), and went to uni with infrequent ILM type Ferg and edited the uni paper's music section with Dan Smith, who has posted to ILM twice, and quite liked the Avril remix someone linked to once.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 19:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I've never met an ilxor but if all goes well I should be in and around London from 26th to 29th May... So?

Cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 19:26 (twenty-three years ago)

hey nice one.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 19:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh, and Christine - Ferg is a Brummie. I used to be before I messed up uni, but I may yet be again...

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 19:39 (twenty-three years ago)

20 years old, been posting for 3 months, and i lurked a little before taking the plunge.

Charles McCain (Charles McCain), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 19:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Ooh, Cozen, start a thread - we must FAP!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 19:50 (twenty-three years ago)

31, since pre-ILX. Haven't met anyone on ILX in real life! The FAPs sound like fun, but I know from my personality & past experience that I do pretty miserably in those kinds of social situations...

Joe (Joe), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 20:25 (twenty-three years ago)

There are Brummies, here, online? Wow!

I've thought about having a Brum FAP for a while now. I fancy a quiet drink out on my own, actually.

ChristineSH (chrissie1068), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 20:30 (twenty-three years ago)

22, have made dozens of inconsequential posts on ILM and about 3 here, I like it very much but appreciate that geographical factors keep me in own little foot-and-mouth-esque-quarantine-area of my very own (south yorkshire). Besotted with about half a dozen people on here who have no idea i even exist. Reading thousands of archived threads at work all day keeps me occupied in a way that does not benefit the homeless people of rotherham, but so it goes.

alexfack (alexfack), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 21:25 (twenty-three years ago)

um, to answer second-half of thread title, have posted HERE over last month or so, ILM maybe since last June.

Hi

alexfack (alexfack), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 21:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Hi back to you. Funny how almost all posts to ILM seem inconsequential, huh?

Bryan (Bryan), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 23:56 (twenty-three years ago)

hi skittles! i'm 23 and i've been posting on ILE since july 2001. i eat indybois for breakfast. their bones get stuck in my teeth. i have met: ducklingmonster, hamish, spectra/haloist, maryann, duane, menelaus darcy, ess-kay, rainy, issadora, andrew, elisabeth, damian, gaz, B:Rad, ned, petrajane... um i think that covers them all. i haven't yet met clare but i will on friday night! i am saving up to go to the USA so i hope to meet lots more ilxers then!

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 00:27 (twenty-three years ago)

25, posting 366 days man (hey, my ILE birthday thread reached double figures! I am acknowledged by one or two people!). The only ilx0rs I have met are Lynskey and Celeste, as they are dear friends of mine

Matt (Matt), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 00:38 (twenty-three years ago)

Curt1s St3ph3ns, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 00:54 (twenty-three years ago)

gaz (gaz), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 02:47 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 23, and first posted about a year ago, but was very sporadic with my posts until maybe 2 months ago. I've met a bunch of people who post, but most of them I knew already via Sinister......

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 04:55 (twenty-three years ago)

i am 22 and found ilm in march 2002, ile a bit later. i have met ned, toraneko, esoj, trayce, tim f, keith mcd and semi-lurker michael stuchberry. i have also talked on the phone to andrew but for some bizarre reason i referred to myself as keith in that conversation.

minna (minna), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 05:19 (twenty-three years ago)

i should have met up with all you melbourne people when i was there... like for 7 weeks, i was in m-town... damn

phil-two (phil-two), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 05:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 32, I've been here about a year. I live in London and I've almost been to a FAP.

Alfie (Alfie), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 10:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I’m 25 in a week, and only started posting on ILE after I changed my login name from the moniker I used on ILM, which I first discovered around July 2002. I don’t know and have never met anyone on these boards. :(

Alex K (Alex K), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 11:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Di, you should come to England instead, London in fact!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 11:57 (twenty-three years ago)

29 years old. As many of the ILXors I was born in the year 1973. I can't remembah when I started posting here, about two years ago? Dunno. I met a few ILXors.

nathalie (nathalie), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:00 (twenty-three years ago)

19. I've been posting here for a while, at least since the boards were on Greenspun.

Minna, let me tell you, at that moment I felt more attracted to Keith than ever before.

Andrew (enneff), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 13:02 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah, cozen start a thread closer to the time!

and yeah, I agree with Martin a few posts up.

I've met loads of ilxors. Don't think I'll be at tomorrow's FAP, coz it's May Day and I don't fancy travelling to town in case the tube and all that is disrupted. < /wuss>

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 13:18 (twenty-three years ago)

theres a fap tomorrow? i might go, where is it?

gareth (gareth), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 13:19 (twenty-three years ago)

it's at the karaoke place!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 13:20 (twenty-three years ago)

here's the details: Can we have a London Karaoke FAP in, say, a couple of weeks?

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 13:22 (twenty-three years ago)

cozen, you don't need to meet anyone from ILx.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 13:26 (twenty-three years ago)

31, been posting on and off for about a year, def. posting much more the past few months. Have yet to meet anyone else on the board.

H (Heruy), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 13:29 (twenty-three years ago)

RJG, I know.

Cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 16:30 (twenty-three years ago)

a) 36.
b) Posting for about six months? I'd have to check to confirm.
c) I've met/hung out with Douglas, Jen Nstop, J0hn D and a few others.
d) Never hooked up with an ILXer - already married, thanks.

mike a (mike a), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 17:58 (twenty-three years ago)

gaz if i didn't meet you then i am referring to the other gaz.

di smith (lucylurex), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:37 (twenty-three years ago)

I met you many years ago, mike. I keep forgetting to bring it up, tho.

hstencil, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 20:47 (twenty-three years ago)

20, posting since the beginning (late-ish 2000, I think?)

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:02 (twenty-three years ago)

23, shocked to realize I've been posting since October, I think. Blame Carey.

Anthony Miccio (Anthony Miccio), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:14 (twenty-three years ago)

23, posting (or not) just over a year I think, met the Aucklanders and occasional visitors, love Philip Roth and stochastic calculus.

b.R.A.d. (Brad), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:18 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm 27. I've been reading ILM for about a year, been posting to ILE since December. I'm not sure if this makes me "nu-ILE" or not.

Oh, and I've met a handful of you folks, but oddly enough I probably would have met most of the people I've met anyway (and indeed met a few of them before coming here, and had heard of others' reputations).

Hopefully I'll meet some of the Canadians in a few months. We'll see.

Chris P (Chris P), Thursday, 1 May 2003 01:55 (twenty-three years ago)

mid-to-late 20s (too old); several months (too long)

boutros boutros gabbneb (gabbneb), Thursday, 1 May 2003 02:15 (twenty-three years ago)

39, found this site about 9 months ago, becoming more and more of a lurker lately :-(

donna (donna), Thursday, 1 May 2003 06:57 (twenty-three years ago)

Brad, a former boss of mine did maths at Cambridge, many years ago (as did I, but that's another story). He had a conversation with one friend of his who clearly believed that everyone was at least familiar with the basic principles of stochastic calculus. They took him to the local Tesco and asked the first assistant they found. She was unfamiliar with stochastic calculus, you'll be astonished to hear. This guy was convinced that she was lying, and that his friends had probably gone there in advance and bribed her to lie to him.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 1 May 2003 11:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Nicole as Lucy and Mark S as Mr. Tumnus in Narnia 2: Electric Boogaloo.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 1 May 2003 12:16 (twenty-three years ago)

n and donna must post more.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Thursday, 1 May 2003 12:19 (twenty-three years ago)

I feel so young. I'm only 18.

babsbunny, Thursday, 1 May 2003 14:40 (twenty-three years ago)

Thirty. Can't remember exactly how long I've been posting (a few months, slightly more frequently recently), but have been lurking since Madchen came to stay at my house last year and left ILE bookmarked on my computer. All the IlXors I have met, I have known longer than I have known about ILX.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 1 May 2003 21:33 (twenty-three years ago)

Getting on for 35. Been here for just over six months.
