I'll be down on 23 April if anyone fancies a pint.

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Of course everyone fancies a pint! At all times, in all places. You're guaranteed a big crowd, and possible water-pistol fights.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:29 (twenty-two years ago)

You're not guaranteed quite as big an attendance as you might have been as several of us are in NYC for the first ever!! (is it?) ILX wedding. Sorta.

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:43 (twenty-two years ago)

yay! pint! i'll make sure i put on weight to make it a big crowd

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 09:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Who's getting hitched?

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Vicky and Chris. Both British, both fleeing extended family by tying the knot in the US.

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Aww lovely. If i were to tie the knot i'd have to do something similar, i have a very big and very awful family on my father's side.

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:48 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought they were married already!

No, not being facetious, honestly! I thought you two got married in Spain or something. Am I not paying attention?

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

?? No Kate!

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:49 (twenty-two years ago)

there was a stag do in Bilbao...

Hello, we need to organise loads of stuff

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Sorry we won't be here Leigh, I'm sure the rest of them will take care of you ;0)

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Oops, sorry, forgive me, Vicky and Chris, I honestly thought it had happened already! I have a hard enough time keeping track of mine own love life. ;-)

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep, Chris & Vicky are going to New Yoik to buy trainers get married! ;-)

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 10:54 (twenty-two years ago)

So FAP New York Thread please...

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

coming soon to an ILe near you, yes

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 12:21 (twenty-two years ago)

there is one already, it just needs bringing back to life, and a venue choosing

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 12:36 (twenty-two years ago)

oh god, don't expect the septics to organise something more than 24 hours before it happens, i've read their so-called FAP threads before ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 12:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Scoff, like we'd ever do that

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 12:47 (twenty-two years ago)

We're not expecting them to organise it, just give some good suggestions, and have a concensus as to where it should be. Oh, wait....

Vicky (Vicky), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:10 (twenty-two years ago)

Was thinking about going here. http://www.fancyapint.com/thepubs/pub13.htm#

leigh (leigh), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 13:49 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah thats a nice one. I'll be around then anyway.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 14:25 (twenty-two years ago)

i'll be back from the states then, so i'll probably be along!

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 14:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Rah, this is a Friday! Okay then... pub looks good as well.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 15:00 (twenty-two years ago)

should be able to stumble the 30 seconds from the office door.

Ed (dali), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 15:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Nice pub that.

Ricardo (RickyT), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 15:39 (twenty-two years ago)

The link says "The whole area tends to get mobbed on Friday nights with workers from the local offices" and this is a Friday. Then again, good empty pubs aren't easy to find in Central London on a Friday night.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 17:13 (twenty-two years ago)

should be able to stumble the 30 seconds from the office door.

ed tell your work colleagues to find a different pub!

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 21:31 (twenty-two years ago)

(unless they buy us pints)

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 21:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Should I make clear that I wasn't saying avoid this pub, Ed might be there?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 21:44 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm meeting my host for the weekend at about six in soho so we should get there about half past.

leigh (leigh), Monday, 19 April 2004 09:40 (twenty-one years ago)

We tend not to drink in their, it being sam smiths. King and Queen or crown and sceptre for us.

Ed (dali), Monday, 19 April 2004 12:51 (twenty-one years ago)

It doesn't have to be there, i think i'm staying pretty close to goodge st so the king and queen might be better.

leigh (leigh), Monday, 19 April 2004 13:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Ignore Ed he is hating on the Jolly German.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 19 April 2004 13:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Ed is not to be trusted on matters pub related. Yorkshire Grey is a nice pub.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 19 April 2004 13:45 (twenty-one years ago)

23 April, a Friday? Cross your fingers, London...

Barima (Barima), Monday, 19 April 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

are you back in town then? i won't be until May 3 tho.

stevem (blueski), Monday, 19 April 2004 13:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Like I said, cross dem fingas (same goes for May 3).

Barima (Barima), Monday, 19 April 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Bah, looks like I'm going to miss another one. I have plans already for Friday, but I know there will be other FAPportunities.

Daniel (dancity), Monday, 19 April 2004 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

JOLLY GERMAN PLEASE.

I have severe thirsties this week, probably a new job thing.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Monday, 19 April 2004 17:36 (twenty-one years ago)

We might be a bit later than 6.30 as we're grabbing a quick meal beforehand here. http://www.toptable.co.uk/details.cfm?rid=1596

leigh (leigh), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 08:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Bump.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 17:03 (twenty-one years ago)

I shall be there at aorund 6.30 thirsty for booze.

Dave B (daveb), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 17:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be there fairly early, as usual - probably by 6.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 17:43 (twenty-one years ago)

i've been convinced all week that the 23rd was next friday (where did april go?). but i'll almost certainly be there, anyway.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 20 April 2004 18:40 (twenty-one years ago)

See you all tomorrow. I'd post a photo but thankfully very few exist. I'm about 5ft 8 and scottish with long dark wavy hair and should be in by about 7.30 ish.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Do not fret Leigh, that will make themselves known!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Oi have a birthday thing to go to in Greenwich that night but I will be along from early doors and should still hopefully see you there! I will turn up when Martin does, probably :)

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:18 (twenty-one years ago)

and if anybody fancies dancing afters, check out this bitch at the Buffalo Bar outside Highbury and Islington stn.

i've never been but it sounds good, and promised a glittering mix of bedroom indie, northern soul, new wave, girl groups, sixties pop, indie pop and motown.

cor.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude - I totally fancy that! But will be in Greenwich by then! MAN!

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Holy shitters! Check out the playlist!

http://spearmint.net/fadedglamour/images/playlist.gif

I am so there.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:29 (twenty-one years ago)

It makes me feel nostalgic for my early 90s clubbing days at the wee red bar at edinburgh college of art.

leigh (leigh), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

And the club's named after an Animals That Swim song! It's like they've gone inside my head, rooted around a bit and emerged triumphantly with The Answer...

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah! That is Shirley from Spearmint's club. (The mention of the 'S' band may put some people off - sorry!)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:37 (twenty-one years ago)

That playlist looks fucking horrible.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you subbing for Cabbage the Curmudgeon while he is in the States, MDC?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you mean its design or its contents?

(xpost to MDC)

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

they should have used Helvetica

oh xpost :(

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Matt do you hate fun?

I'll come along to both, especially since I can stumble home from the Buffalo Bar - hooray! Never been to Faded Glamour, but that playlist looks OK to me.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:42 (twenty-one years ago)

this is gonna be a pretty highbury-centric weekend.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:43 (twenty-one years ago)

the club looks rubbish. this doesnt mean i wont come along though (although this is potentially quite a crowded weekend, so we will see)

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

It looks like retro-twee hell full of girls in knee-high white socks doing the twirly dance to The Boy With The Arab Strap. *shudder*

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:45 (twenty-one years ago)

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

One of my few memories of the Borderline last weekend is of Gareth looking a bit lost and confused and dancing awkwardly, like he didn't really know what he was supposed to do.

I can't make the club anyway as I have a friend's party to shoot off to but I'm sure otherwise I'd end up going anyway.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm with matt on this one.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Matt's part of a sect that is working to end fun on a global basis, the evil al-tukhdup consipracy led by Osama Slippers

Carry on not laffing (daveb), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

It looks like retro-twee hell full of girls in knee-high white socks doing the twirly dance to The Boy With The Arab Strap. - Matt DC

they really should put that in the flyer

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

"Retro-twee hell full of girls in knee-high white socks doing the twirly dance to The Boy With The Arab Strap" is infinitely preferable to balding blokes huffing around to dreary lifeless minimalist mathematical techno crap like Frankie Bones.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

i quite fancy that club myself, hmmm.

Jaunty Alan (Alan), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread's taken a turn for the better. Keep em coming

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

but there are many things that are much better than either, marcello.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

marcello otm. although

girls huffing around to dreary lifeless minimalist mathematical techno crap like Frankie Bones would still be better than "Retro-twee hell full of balding blokes in knee-high white socks doing the twirly dance to The Boy With The Arab Strap" is infinitely preferable to

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Who is this Frankie Bones?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

-"is infinately preferable to"

but yeah, i think the full of girls in knee high socks bit is the part that wins

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:54 (twenty-one years ago)

girls in being better than balding blokes shocker, world sits back and takes a swig of brandy

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

I is coming at 6.30 with Mr. Dave B as my chaperone. Will have to rush off at 8 though. Buffalo bar, hmm, no, not my kind of music unless very drunk, am going to a party in Highbury instead. Rock on tha Highbury Centric weekend.

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

matt: Simon Reynolds vs Frankie Bones: FITE!

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

consideing matts makelele like performance last saturday, i dont think any criticisms can be hit my way

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

who on god's green earth dances to frankie bones in london?

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Naturally, Frankie Bones in knee-high white socks doing the twirly dance to The Boy With The Arab Strap is something I would pay serious money to see.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sure the Scissor Sisters are playing near you sometime soon, Marcello.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:58 (twenty-one years ago)

The Scissor Sisters are something no one should be expected to pay more than 25p to see.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 11:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, so what if it's a night of twee music and the like. IMO, it is infinitely preferable to:

(a) Any pub - no music at all. mostly men
(b) Any 'bar' - super-expensive drinks. crap music. yuppies .
(c) Any 'nightclub' - even more expensive. too loud. stupid club types.

ADMIT IT. Nights like this are *generally* the closest match possible to the ILX collective

(sits and waits for abuse)

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

It's an indie disco, isn't it? Much as I like about half of what is listed, I am not sure I can tolerate being in a club that is likely to play half stuff that, for me, should never be near a club. I'm sure they will be devastated at the loss of the middle-aged-balding-bloke-in-cheap-work-suit demographic.

Leigh, if you are trying to find us in the pub, I will be there early and I have a photo of me on my profile here. Don't let it put you off - everyone else is younger and cuter. Or I could give my usual advice: go up to random strangers, especially the weirder-looking ones, and lean in and whisper in their ears "Do you love...everything? I do." You might get a better evening that way than with us anyway.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

ooo. a cutting remark about scissor sisters

x[ost

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken that was awful

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually now I read the playlist properly and see that there is more than indie tweeness available - including the mighty Sinatras, Blondie, Prince and Ray Charles - I am coming round to the concept. Sometimes it is nice to relive my student days. In fact it will almost certianly be better than my student days as a) I am now able to afford a round even at fancy London prices and b) there are fewer people called Rupert, Camilla and Jeremy in my social circle and c) I no longer wear knee socks, DMs and hairy rainbow jumpers, thank the lord

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm sorry. i know i shouldn't have run with it. xpost.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha Spearmint. Long term reader(s) of mine will recall that I have often rallied against music wot I consider to be pants. The interweb is a beautiful, friendly past, often I rarely get called on the peons that I slander libellously online, but when I took on Spearmint...

I got MYLES.

sarah-so you just dont like spearmint full stop, you seem to have a grudge against em,..did you choke on a piece of spearmint as a child? if you're questioning their strength, well they've been across europe many times in a yellow minibus deathtrap.would westlife with all their publicity have done that?I think not, that's real dedication. They also belive they could take on slipknot if they had to.they were sober when they said that.Im mentioning they were sober cos of the incident when a westlife memeber had a false sense of invincibility through drinking and threw a bottle at the so solid crew(not a very clever thing to do,wouldnt get any sas types doing
that)

I think the "did you choke on spearmint when you were a child" was a good opener.

Sarah (starry), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:03 (twenty-one years ago)

It's like the ur-Simon Reynolds vs Frankie Bones!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:04 (twenty-one years ago)

This club offers the possibility of dancing of Low. This I may need to see.

It also feels the need to put The Keys on the flyer twice. Are they not rubbish, though?

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

I want to go to this but will not be in London! I don't know what's going on with the (maybe not) pointless proliferation of indie clubs at the Buffalo Bar - it's the new Betsey Trotwood or something. Except the drinks are really arsing expensive! Pilsner Urquell £2.70 grumble grumble curse.

Have a good FAP though, chaps. Remember to stand outside in the nice weather with yr pints if it's still sunny tomorrow evening. It's the only chance you'll get while Hopkins is out of the country.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Frankie Bones vs Spearmint:

BONES: DON'T MUTHAFUCKIN' TRY IT!
S/MINT: Oh OK then.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Low = indie erection section, innit?

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Badger Kitten, some time ago.

http://www.pixunlimited.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2001/05/01/protest372.jpg

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Low = indie erection section

I have not seen this dance before. Please explain.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

£2.70 for Pilsner Urquell in a club is expensive?

(xpost) I love that pic, that was from Mayday a few years ago? I love the expression on the copper's face while he's fascistically brutalising a peaceful protestor.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

That's for a wee bottle, MDC. If they had it on draught I'd be a happy bunny.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

That's me on the left advising Mr Kitten not to bother going into Tower Records.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I heart it greatly. Rod Jane and Freddy bring down the commanding heights of capitalism.

It sums up the furility of the wanky jugglers for Marx tendency.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

I'd bloody well fascistically brutalise Steven Spi3lberg's hippy twat twin brother.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Whatever turns you on, Liz...

However:
"Wanky jugglers for Marx tendency"

(ponders)

Now why couldn't Franz Ferdinand have used that for an album title?

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Closer examination would reveal that pic to be taken pretty much right outside my office. I'm going to go and stand on the spot in homage.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:12 (twenty-one years ago)

£2.70 for a bottle a wee is indeed expensive.

i'm going for the choco vodka when i'm there.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Well make sure you wipe up after you've finished.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Haha you haven't seen Ken's kitchen.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I may come to this too - if I go I am still planning on going to Bourough Market the following morning before the tennis.

marianna, Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I have shaved off the beard and lost the trombone since that picture was taken, Dave B. That is not a facistically brutalising police man, that is the fashion police, and he has a fair point too.

badger Kitten (badger Kitten), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:16 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know what's going on with the (maybe not) pointless proliferation of indie clubs at the Buffalo Bar

i think it's for ME! to go to indie clubs every night and stumble home!

The buffalo bar is popular because i think (AFAIK) it's free to hire as long as you can get £500 (or something) at the bar. at their drinks prices this is not difficult.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

It's actually up there with Gareth at phone booth and Hasselhof and Coleman as my favourite pictures ever. It's his puffed cheeks and his eyeline looking at something the man is wearing. I suspect a tutu and bernie clifton style ostrich outfit.

Late entry into the list - van morrison is sexual assualt on former German goalkeeper.

http://www.spiegel.de/img/0,1020,42681,00.jpg

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:25 (twenty-one years ago)

That's terrifying. You think that's Kahn's blood, it's actually the blood of the nippy young Latvian forward he's just devoured.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

My Brown eyed goalkeeper.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I shall come to the pub, but nothing not no thing is going to get me into an indie disco. Y'all have fun though.

(BTW, gareths own description of what he does when the Jam comes on would be me all night I think)

Ed (dali), Thursday, 22 April 2004 12:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I won't make it.

Barima (Barima), Thursday, 22 April 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

:(

What about May 3?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, so what if it's a night of twee music and the like. IMO, it is infinitely preferable to:
(a) Any pub - no music at all. mostly men
(b) Any 'bar' - super-expensive drinks. crap music. yuppies .
(c) Any 'nightclub' - even more expensive. too loud. stupid club types.

ADMIT IT. Nights like this are *generally* the closest match possible to the ILX collective

(sits and waits for abuse)

ok then. (a) is nonsense - plenty of pubs play music, and i'm not sure the mostly men thing is true either. even if it is, surely the point of faps is to meet up with one's friends, not go on the pull?

(b) is also wrong, as there are plenty of bars that are not ridiculously priced (at least not in comparison to the buffalo bar, by the sound of it). also plenty of bars play decent music, and aren't full of yuppies.

(c) is incorrect, too; i don't see how "stupid club types" are worse than "people who go to indie discos", nor are they necessarily more expensive or indeed louder.

anyway...

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

the sound systems are genberally better and tinitus is only a 50% certaintiy instead of a 100% certainty.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:35 (twenty-one years ago)

that is 'proper' club sound systems are better than indie sound systems.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:36 (twenty-one years ago)

What about May 3?

Much better chance, I gotta sort my tickets out, but I'm intent on leaving next week.

Barima (Barima), Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

(a) is nonsense - plenty of pubs play music, and i'm not sure the mostly men thing is true either. even if it is, surely the point of faps is to meet up with one's friends, not go on the pull?

Hate to say this Toby, but we're not really friends, are we? I hardly ever (for the last six months amend that to read "never") see ILxors outside of FAPs, and we don't sustain any other contact outside of these boards. Which to my mind is probably no bad thing. Exchanging dialogue hidden behind computer screens to while away a dreary working day is fine in itself; the mistake - certainly the mistake I've often made in the past - is to see it as anything more than that.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

i think we differ on that one, marcello, and most people who go to faps do meet up outside them, afaik.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Perhaps it's just that FAPs aren't my thing anymore, if indeed they ever were, which I doubt.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)

i think indie discos and pubs and bars and clubs are all good. from my experience

i like pubs but they shut too early and can be kind of bland at times if you're not with good company (unless is at a pub quiz).

i like "bars" but it can be expensive and you can look out of place if you're not dressed semi-smartly, but good if they have great cocktails.

i like "clubs" but it really depends on the club, a whole night with mind-numbingly loud bleeping noises? no thanks. but when it's cheap and play good music (whatever it is) and most importantly have places to sit down? divine.

"indie disco"? i guess that's kind of like a "club" but most of the time on a smaller scale, and i like most of it because when i go, the people who go there normally are interesting to me, and i like the "indie" music that they speak of.

my ideal place is one that serve cheap drinks, play good music, has a dance floor and people i like go to and the music isn't so loud that i cannot talk to the people i like who go there. apart from the drink i think the b.bar fits that criteria for me (at the right nights)

xxxxpost with whatever

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I like my own local pub where my wife and I can go for a quiet pint and a good natter of an evening. I'm 40, a probable carpet slipper and proud of it.

Marcello Carlin, Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

im kind of double booked with the fap and a vietnamese meal, but, either way, i'll come along to this thing afterwards, and bring the others, if i have gone to the meal

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 22 April 2004 14:59 (twenty-one years ago)

(a) is nonsense - plenty of pubs play music, and i'm not sure the mostly men thing is true either. even if it is, surely the point of faps is to meet up with one's friends, not go on the pull?

Toby, you clearly have a significant other of some kind. ALL single people are on the pull, all the time, forever, whether they know it/like it or not.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 22 April 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

charlie you're so otm. wanna discuss this further round at mine?

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 22 April 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, entire history of London ILX would appear to contradict Toby's statement.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 15:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Toby, where did you pull your current girlfriend?

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 22 April 2004 15:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yes, a FAP. As you were.

One who should know (Anna), Thursday, 22 April 2004 15:11 (twenty-one years ago)

oh yeah, the scissor sisters are pretty awful, they're like the cabaret Black Crowes.

jel -- (jel), Thursday, 22 April 2004 15:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Anna, YHM (at least you do if that address is real!). And no, it's nothing to do with being on the pull...

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Thursday, 22 April 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Aside from that, is London Ilx a hotbed of post-FAP knobbing? I had no idea if so, and would early love an email telling me about the machinations and liaisions cos I'm a nosey bastardso I don't make any faux pas about 'she's looking lovely tonight' and someone then cracks a glass over my head screaming 'YES AND SHE$ WAS MINE ONCE!'

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 22 April 2004 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

WOW! I asked for abuse and I got it!

Ken is OTM. To be honest, I can have a good time in pubs, bars, clubs, whatever. As long as music is reasonably acceptable and I'm with people I like, I don't care about the rest.

I have a soft spot for indiediscos because the 'songs-i-like-to-hear/hour' ratio is higher than in other places. However tomorrow's thingy also has the all-important 'bar location/proximity-to-home' radio maxed right out, so that seals the thumbs-up from me...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 22 April 2004 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I kind of assume that, for example, Toby sees Anna other than just at FAPs. Even I have occasionally met with an ILXer aside from FAPs.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 22 April 2004 16:27 (twenty-one years ago)

You'd never guess that Rob B was once the lynchpin of the Canadian rave scene, would you?

Dave, I couldn't possibly divulge such details over email because it is so much more fun to discuss in the pub I am not one to gossip.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 22 April 2004 17:25 (twenty-one years ago)

This afternoon I took my new workmates to Bradley's Spanish Bar on Hanway Street.

Where is the actual FAP pub again?

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 22 April 2004 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

YOrkshire GRey

Ed (dali), Thursday, 22 April 2004 18:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Ta Ed!

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 22 April 2004 18:34 (twenty-one years ago)

fair point. although the "pubs being full of men" bit referred to the possiblity of pulling non-fap women, i thought?

my remarks above were not supposed to be taken seriously, anyway. as i'm sure you all know.

gossip - there has been some. perhaps less than one might suppose, though.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 22 April 2004 19:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh I'm a bladdy idiot - the birthday thing is actually in a couple of weeks, so I can make a night of it, might very well be up for Top Indie Disco Action also!

Charlie, will you be at the pub or down at the indie disco? I want a word with you, like :)

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 08:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I may be along to the FAP late doors. And possibly dragging my garagiste friend zum indiedisko, auch.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 23 April 2004 08:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Good lord! I was hoping for lots of matey London ILXor in-joking when I saw how many new answers, and instead got this.

I probably won't make it to either the FAP or the indie disco. Not cause I have anything against FAPs or indie discoes, but I'm just feeling a bit FAP-ped out and tired due to real-life busy-ness. I look forward to resuming FAP-ing in May, just now is not a good time.

So, sorry I'll miss you, Leigh, have a good FAP!

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 23 April 2004 08:12 (twenty-one years ago)

bleh. i'm getting roped into going to a birthday thing with my flatmate, so unlikely that i'll be able to make the FAP. however, if i make an early escape, the buffalo bar is not too far out of the way home to make it possible.

colette (a2lette), Friday, 23 April 2004 08:47 (twenty-one years ago)

BAAAAAAAAH, I can't make the pubFAP as I have a friend in town from LA and we "must do dinner". We will come to the indiedisco, however.

lynchpin of the Canadian rave scene
Ha! Even if I was it would be kind of a 'world's tallest midget' thing, I suppose...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 23 April 2004 08:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Good lord! I was hoping for lots of matey London ILXor in-joking when I saw how many new answers, and instead got this.

surely this is matey london ilxor in-joking?

anyway i will be along to the pub, probably early, but not the indie disco cos i'm tired and have a heavy weekend ahead of me. also gt portland st is only 2 stops from home which makes the buffalo bar seem pure mentalism.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 23 April 2004 09:09 (twenty-one years ago)

pure mentalism.

You say that like its a bad thing...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I wish I could go, which I think must be a tribute to last week's do.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 23 April 2004 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

i say it becuase i fear it.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 23 April 2004 09:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Charlie, will you be at the pub or down at the indie disco? I want a word with you, like :)

Hmmm. As it transpires, I allegedly agreed at some point to go and see some comedy in Balham this evening. Thus, there's a fair chance I might not make either pub or indie disco. But we'll see. Feel free to mail me offlist, but - that's a real address down there...

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 23 April 2004 09:35 (twenty-one years ago)

charlie: that's where *i'm* supposed to see comedy tonight!

is it for someone's birthday?

colette (a2lette), Friday, 23 April 2004 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

not as far as i know...the Bedford, right? Adam Bloom an' that?

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 23 April 2004 09:37 (twenty-one years ago)

i don't know who it is. my flatmate's ex flatmate is having a load of people go to this as a birthday outing, and she wants me to go.

have i met you in real life before? have you been to this place? is it huge? and are you staying for the disco?

colette (a2lette), Friday, 23 April 2004 10:27 (twenty-one years ago)

It's Banana Cabaret tonight and tomorrow - I've been to the pub before, but not this particular night. The Bedford is a bloody massive place though, with various sections just to add to the confusion.

Don't think we've met irl, no. I've heard about the post comedy disco, it sounds fucking awful School Disco-esque cheesy arse - will repair to Buffalo Bar post-comedy if I possibly can.

Starry, whaddyawant eh?

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 23 April 2004 10:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I've emailed you at the hotmail address, like. I'm just wondering how small the world is, that's all, dear!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 10:46 (twenty-one years ago)

you have? i see it not. the world is the size of a peanut, by all accounts, and we are merely grains of salt thereon.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 23 April 2004 10:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I have indeed. Might your companion in comedy tonight live by Canada Water and have hosted an album cover party in the not too distant past?

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 11:00 (twenty-one years ago)

As it happens, no! Although I was in the company aforementioned personage at SB last week, as discussed elsewhere. Thought we already knew we shared friends after my I've been invited to a "dress as an albbum cover" fancy-dress party this Saturday - I am lazy/inspirationally challenged and can't think of anything to do... thread of old. Not exactly sure which friends we share tho, but there you go.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 23 April 2004 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Aha, right-on. I wasn't sure as I didn't know them too well then. I am 'special friends' with the long dark haired gay goth housemate, like, but I didn't know him at the time of the party.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

so, what time are people going to get to the pub, then?

toby (tsg20), Friday, 23 April 2004 11:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I am going to be good and pass on the idea of going straight to pub at 5.00, if only because I want to be in at least a semi-lucid state by the time I get to the party tonight. So I'm going to go home, grab dinner, and then arrive at the pub for about 7.30.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

*resists really really hard the urge to hype
GHEYE!!!
*

*is successful*

Matt that's RUBBISH dude! I'll be there about 1730, I should imagine :)

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

six firty

Dave B (daveb), Friday, 23 April 2004 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

matt that is lame.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 23 April 2004 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

matt that is good behaviour.

i think i might be able to show after all now

gareth (gareth), Friday, 23 April 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

between 6 and 6:30

Ed (dali), Friday, 23 April 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Where ... is this FAP, anyway?

the bellefox, Friday, 23 April 2004 12:50 (twenty-one years ago)

The Camphill Vaults pub, 1-3 Main Street, Bothwell.

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 23 April 2004 12:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Yorkshire Grey

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

i was briefly considering doing a matt and nipping home for dinner, but i have decided against such nonsense, and will instead go for a beer or two after work before arriving at the pub around 6:30. i fear it could get rather drunk this evening.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Sarah and Toby have made me feel guilty. I am going to do a bit of shopping and have dinner instead of going home and having dinner. Should be in pub about 6.30.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:55 (twenty-one years ago)

i will go home first.

gareth (gareth), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:56 (twenty-one years ago)

well there's a surprise.

good attitude, mdc.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 23 April 2004 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm out of here! See you homo superiors soon!!

Sarah (starry), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be there in a wee bit - currently in the easyinternet thingy on tottenham Court Road, 50 minutes credit, and very soon Joe Perry might be dumping Mark Williams out of the snooker, so my mood may be ever-so-slightly righteous.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Closer inspection reveals Joe Perry might actually be on the verge of blowing it quite majorly. 10-6 up, but he was 10-3...

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:26 (twenty-one years ago)

the bloke from aeromsith?

jel -- (jel), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Journey. Not Aerosmith.

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I shoulda known that! I feel bad :(

jel -- (jel), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I feel bad that I *did* know that!

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

what I am chatting about? Joe Perry is so in Aerosmith!!!

jel -- (jel), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:32 (twenty-one years ago)

it's Steve Perry in Journey!

jel -- (jel), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

God, you're right, he's the guitarist. Who is the singer of Journey who is also called Joe something or Perry something that I am thinking of?

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

and Dan Perry who posts to ILE.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Elevator not pictured.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

D'oh.

Charlie from Busted sings exactly like him. It disturbs me now that I've noticed that, and I can't get it out of my head when I hear him.

GODDAMN STOP WITH THE X-POSTS!!! Though it would be pretty funny if Charlie sang like *Dan* Perry. "Figaro! Figaro! Figaro! ::insert fart joke::"

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

so ends today's lesson on famous Perry's.

jel -- (jel), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

You forgot Chris Perry, though:

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Friday, 23 April 2004 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

matt D c. hahahaha!

toby (tsg20), Friday, 23 April 2004 22:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Lovely to meet plenny lovely peeps last night. My fucking head fucking hurts. Thoughts on Faded Glamour? Bit...bitty sez I.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Saturday, 24 April 2004 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

My head hurts too. Charlie, I've said this before and I'm sure I'll say it again, but we really didn't need those last two beers.

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Saturday, 24 April 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Everything was lovely and stuff, aside from the fact that my voice is now fucked beyond measure. Lemsip unto the future...

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Saturday, 24 April 2004 15:17 (twenty-one years ago)

hey to those I meet at Faded Glamour

Paul

Sean Carter (roc), Sunday, 25 April 2004 04:39 (twenty-one years ago)

we really didn't need those last two beers.

that's some crazy talk! i felt kinda decadent. and then very swiftly a bit silly when the lights came up a full 15 seconds after the purchase. meh.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Sunday, 25 April 2004 11:31 (twenty-one years ago)

mmmm i had a double barrel tiger action (aka tiger tiger) going on at faded glamour. drunkeness resulted. but what fun!

ken c (ken c), Sunday, 25 April 2004 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Toby's post gives me the fear. Thanks for that D-related sabotage. I feel violated.

How was the schmindie disco? Anyone know where I can get two cheap burkas in London?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 26 April 2004 07:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I cannot remember a lot of this night. I don't remember getting fried chicken or fact going home, but waking up in my bed on Saturday with fried chicken boxes and Dr Who videos on prominent display in the living room is pretty damming evidence.

Yet still, I woke up hangover free!!!

God bless the Fat Man.

http://userpic.livejournal.com/13167102/576556

Sarah (starry), Monday, 26 April 2004 07:35 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry i missed the fap, but had fun escaping southern comedy with charlie for the indie disco. it was fun! not exactly dance-y, but nice to stand around and chat and look at the planetarium thingy on the wall.

even though i had that custard vodka shot, as well as several mixed drinks as well as a load of wine at the comedy, i don't think i was nearly as hammered as most of the rest of you.

colette (a2lette), Monday, 26 April 2004 09:44 (twenty-one years ago)

(BTW, Matt, I'm not sure I'll be back this week either. And if not this week, then that's probably it til July. OTOH, I can probably start that Ghana Thread soon)

Barima (Barima), Monday, 26 April 2004 10:01 (twenty-one years ago)

That was one of the best FAPs since the last excellent FAP. I still think it might have been an idea to spend more time... outside.

We worked out what a Problematic is.

the bellefox, Monday, 26 April 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Sarah..YOU made me go to the chicken shop. You do remember. You're just pretending you don't. Then you made me stay up to watch Brain of Morbius. Matt, apparently Turnpike Lane might be good for the burkas/ hijabs. I spent most of the FAp convinced I'd not drunk enough to be drunk, but I now know this to be untrue.

alix (alix), Monday, 26 April 2004 11:44 (twenty-one years ago)

You should have taken the opportunity to have pushed me in the road and finished my sorry sham of a life right there and then.

Sarah (starry), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Good FAP! Except I've already forgotten all the Cantonese Ken was so painstakingly teaching me. Oh, well.

cis (cis), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Jesus I remember the "Brain of Morbius" episode - gave me nightmares for weeks as a kid. I now have a permanent fear of large, headless hairy beasts.

Yeah, good fun. Some friends from IRL came along too, but they got too drunk on Absynthe beforehand and had to make an early exit...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

why does matt need burkas?

stevem (blueski), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:51 (twenty-one years ago)

He is going to invade crouch end and set up a fundamentalist state.

Ed (dali), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

NB: Fundamentalistr state: everyone will have to dress like Fun Da Mental or wear a burka.

Ed (dali), Monday, 26 April 2004 12:52 (twenty-one years ago)

It was a good FAP apart from:

- The Goffs upstairs avoiding the sun - you menkos. It was the first day of summer, with the sun shining. At the risk of sounding like a parent, you should have been outside enjoying the sun rather than all cooped up in a darkened room.

- I was drunk very quickly; by the time my mate arrived at 8, I was drunk and ranty. Ooops.

- Badger Kitten did not get to meet any of you as you were all tucked up upstairs, and when we came upstairs, there was no room.

Dave B (daveb), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Badger Kitten met me, and Ed and Sarah and Toby and Lixi, I think. The non-goff outside drinking contingent, in other words. Also it was nice to meet Leigh and friends - can't believe you know Melissa - is it true that there are only actually 100 people on the Modern Interweb?

Dave, you may have been drunk and ranty but your mate offered to buy me beer in thanks for the freya link. And I think you called me 'comrade' at one point.

Good turnout as well considering loads of people were in NYC.

Re: burkas - the question could also be extended to the easy availability of lederhosen in this city.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

and you would know about that because?

stevem (blueski), Monday, 26 April 2004 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

lederhosen and mortarboards. You get me,DC?

alix (alix), Monday, 26 April 2004 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

bellefox we did indeed work out what a problematic is it's true but we FORGOT TO WRITE IT DOWN :(

i also realise i did not meet any of the ppl i had not already met, for which multi-apologies)

mark s (mark s), Monday, 26 April 2004 15:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Ditto to Mark's last sentence. I was pleased to be indoors because a) we had chairs! b) there were crods of people standing around outside already when I arrived, and c) I burn astoundingly easy, and have been majorly ill with sunstroke more than once, so tend to avoid the sun.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:07 (twenty-one years ago)

c won't wash Martin - I'm a closet ginger and burn on cloudy days. It was enjoying the expansive delight of the sun going down and the open air; the sun had gone behind buildings IIRC anyway...

Dave B (daveb), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Probably the nicest outside drinking spot in central London as well.

Ed (dali), Monday, 26 April 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I meant that it makes being out in the sun generally less appealing - I didn't check where the shade was that evening.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Monday, 26 April 2004 18:09 (twenty-one years ago)

i think once the hordes of office suited people outside were gone, going out to the sun was urgent + key. but then again i've been to enough of these faps to remember that you guys get SCREAMISH when you're more than 2 feet away from that fat man! (or the D-man in matt's case)

haha cis oh my god yeah i almost forgot the rediscoverment of my childhood with the kenji book!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 26 April 2004 20:46 (twenty-one years ago)

four weeks pass...
Looks like i'll be back down soon with my mum in tow, not sure she'd be up for a FAP though.

leigh (leigh), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 14:08 (twenty-one years ago)

ilx mums FAP

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 15:15 (twenty-one years ago)

PLEASE YES

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 25 May 2004 15:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, bring your mum - it'd be nice to have a woman of my generation at a FAP.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 11:21 (twenty-one years ago)

My mum's 57.

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 11:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Crikey this FAP now feels like a lifetime ago.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 11:35 (twenty-one years ago)

57 = closer to my age than vast majority (75-80% I'd say) at normal FAPs!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

matt get a hold of yourself it hasn't happened yet

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 26 May 2004 18:56 (twenty-one years ago)

two weeks pass...
I'll be down from 5th November till 7th November - i'm seeing Neil and Tim Finn on 5/11 and Caetano Veloso on 6/11 but will be free on the Sunday.

leigh (leigh), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh! Where's Mr. Veloso playing?

Tim (Tim), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry, i'm a bit over-excited about going to see Caetano Veloso.

Oh no! this is something of a disaster for me because I'd love to see CV but I really really want to go home to see the tar barrels this year and they're on the 5th. Nightmare. I wonder if Caetano's touring. I wonder if I can take the chance on him coming back?
