kingfish muffminer 2049er (Kingfish), Sunday, 30 January 2005 08:28 (twenty years ago)

Also, the fact that Troika Games(who put this game out) might be going out of business soon does not make me happy.

kingfish muffminer 2049er (Kingfish), Sunday, 30 January 2005 08:28 (twenty years ago)

Final Fantasy 7. I fear I may be behind the times.

adam (adam), Sunday, 30 January 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

Also Resident Evil 4 is easily the best of the series and probably one of the 5 best games I've played for this generation of consoles.

adam (adam), Sunday, 30 January 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

the minish cap (still)
super mario bros. 3
street fighter 2 turbo
advance wars (omg!)
excitebike

and reading my new copy of 1-up zine. has anyone else read it?

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 30 January 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

kozyndan rocks.

cozen (Cozen), Sunday, 30 January 2005 14:47 (twenty years ago)

RE4 is totally gonna be my next purchase. I was down from day one!
I bought the original the day it came out and played it ten hours straight to complete it, haha.

Dr. Z Indahouse (AaronHz), Sunday, 30 January 2005 15:14 (twenty years ago)

Advance Wars 2 (Just a quick go... oh it's 5am. Aieee!)

At the risk of forgetting all about:

Zelda Four Swords
Wario Ware GC
Mario Advance 2

I also found a copy of Splinter Cell on the other computer, and I played that for a bit. I wish the games would leave me alone, I have no willpower... ooooh, Resident Evil 4! At least I can leave that until March.

Suedey (John Cei Douglas), Sunday, 30 January 2005 15:39 (twenty years ago)

yesterday i bought used copies of megaman x5 and x6 for ps1. wtf is going on in these games? nightmares? people you have to save? earth destroyed? i just want to shoot up some evil robots please.

a banana (alanbanana), Sunday, 30 January 2005 17:32 (twenty years ago)

there used to be an article at toastyfrog.com going into how progressively fucked up the plots of mega man games were, but i can't find it right now.

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Sunday, 30 January 2005 17:53 (twenty years ago)

http://toastyfrog.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3137850

Surreal Fighting Games.

Odd.

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Sunday, 30 January 2005 18:11 (twenty years ago)

The only mega man I like is the croaky voiced little midget from the awesome Captain Nintendo cartoon! Yeah!

Oh man, I wonder what Captain Nintendo's awesome belt would be like now.

Suedey (John Cei Douglas), Sunday, 30 January 2005 18:43 (twenty years ago)

and here, the Climatic Battle of Metal Gear Solid, rendered in Lego.

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Sunday, 30 January 2005 19:45 (twenty years ago)

I'm playing ESPN College Basketball, and it was 50-50 with 25 seconds left. I'm Grambling and the computer is Texas A&M. I foul the computer intentionally so that I'll have time on the clock coming back. The computer makes the first one, but misses the second and I get the rebound and call for a time out. Nine seconds left. I make a few quick passes and find my SF about 10 feet out. He plants and shoots... it curls around the rim... AND DROPS! PANDEMONIUM!!

Video games are cool.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Monday, 31 January 2005 00:32 (twenty years ago)

WoW!!!!! And KOTORII!!!!

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 31 January 2005 05:00 (twenty years ago)

i took a break from resident evil 4 to play smash TV via the midway arcade treasures collection.

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Monday, 31 January 2005 07:56 (twenty years ago)

smash tv!!!!!!!! though i like robotron better.

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 31 January 2005 08:02 (twenty years ago)

omg WoW roll-call guys!!! I'm on Alleria, but i sort of want to re-roll on a pvp server

ade (Adrian Langston), Monday, 31 January 2005 11:42 (twenty years ago)

I played Tron2 all day Saturday, the save game feature is awful and a couple of times after being killed saw me having to redo huge parts of the game again.

Eventually gave up after hitting a part which is just impossible to get through due to having a crap weapon against zillion of bad guys.

Ste (Fuzzy), Monday, 31 January 2005 11:47 (twenty years ago)

I played a huge chunk of City Of Heroes at the weekend, the final time available on the Beta test of the EU servers. It's OK, but I don't see me signing up for it.

aldo_cowpat (aldo_cowpat), Monday, 31 January 2005 11:59 (twenty years ago)

is anyone playing CS:Source with any regularity these days?
i wouldn't be averse to shooting some ilx0rz some day...

g-kit (g-kit), Monday, 31 January 2005 12:43 (twenty years ago)

X-Men Legends is fun, but it seems like it would be more fun with other people to play with. Poking around the X-mansion and playing trivia games is great, you should be able to do that for the whole game.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:13 (twenty years ago)

I've turned on X-Men Legends, I hate the camera angle and when there are a lot of characters on the screen it's impossible for me to tell the difference between team members and enemies.

That doesn't matter though, because Resident Evil 4 is the best game ever!

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:05 (twenty years ago)

Half-Life 2.

57 7th (calstars), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:29 (twenty years ago)

I finished RE4 yesterday. So so so so so good.

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:32 (twenty years ago)

Minish Cap. Stuck in the mountains.

TOMBOT, Monday, 7 February 2005 19:36 (twenty years ago)

I'm almost finished minish cap. you like it, tom?

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:37 (twenty years ago)

I finished the third or fourth dungeon in Minish Cap (the one where you get wind teleportation powers afterwards) and then set it aside, I like it though. I have to get back to it, this not finishing games thing is a bad habit.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

I'm on the last dungeon! unless it pulls some 'a link to the past' otherworld / nether-region bullshit on me.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:44 (twenty years ago)

secret of evermore on the snes, it's by squaresoft and like a cross between zelda and ff if you know what i mean. like, you can hit monsters with your weapon zelda style and do magic and stuff ff style. it's not that good, but it's ok. the music is really nice. especially at bugmuck village, it's a weird clicky bongo beat, sounds good when you're leeeaaan.

in sharky water, Monday, 7 February 2005 19:46 (twenty years ago)

is minish cap the new zelda on the gamecube where you need a gameboy advance or something?

in sharky water, Monday, 7 February 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

No, it's just on Gameboy Advance.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:49 (twenty years ago)

kotor 2 comes out on pc tomorrow. huzzah.

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:49 (twenty years ago)

xpost - That's four swords, which the previous thread suggests can be played with a Gamecube controller.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:51 (twenty years ago)

apparently (gamefaqs.com!) I missed out on the light arrows gah!

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:51 (twenty years ago)

My girlfriend is playing a lot of Harvest Moon while I'm playing RE4, it's a great parallel. RE4 is like the dark zombie mirror world of HM, at least in the beginning. There's the same cows, chickens, jumping jauntily over fences, running around, etc. RE4 is what happens if you don't take care of your farm.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 19:52 (twenty years ago)

The shotgun in Harvest Moon is way less fun than the shotgun in RE4.

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:07 (twenty years ago)

What, you didn't get the shotgun in Harvest Moon? n00b

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:08 (twenty years ago)

I felt bad when I killed a cow in RE4.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:13 (twenty years ago)

That's fucked up, Jordan. I didn't kill any of the cows. Also I only shot the merchant once. Me = good person.

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

It could have been a zombie cow, you can't tell! Don't judge me you bastards!

(You can shoot the merchant?)

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:16 (twenty years ago)

I have a $25 gift certificate to the video game store but I wandered around in there on Saturday but couldn't get excited enough about anything to get it and there were all these 12 year old kids running around and talking in funny voices.

n/a (Nick A.), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:18 (twenty years ago)

You can pop the merchant but he comes back (not in that same spot but in the later merchant areas).

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

Sweet. Should I upgrade my handgun or just buy newer, more awesome weapons?

(Nick, what video game system do you have?)

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 20:24 (twenty years ago)

ds Vs. psp, soon.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:39 (twenty years ago)

Don't upgrade the handgun and shotgun, wait til you get the next-gen versions and put all your money in those. Also remember that you can combine certain treasures and sell them for a hell of a lot more than you'd get individually.

Also: MINE THROWER. It's almost useless but the most fun weapon in the game (besides the shotgun).

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:43 (twenty years ago)

Do you get a chainsaw? Please say yes.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:43 (twenty years ago)

I am still on Dantooine! I think I screwed up Telos and Nar Shadda.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:45 (twenty years ago)

I cannot ask about which KOTOR characters return without spoiling which ones _can't_ come back! The dilemma is delicious!

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:50 (twenty years ago)

I finally beat Vampire: Bloodlines, and am playing thru it again, only as the batshit-insane Malkvanian

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:51 (twenty years ago)

Jordan: I could say yes but I'd be lying. Unless it's something that I totally missed.

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:56 (twenty years ago)

actually, the crazy propaganda of this month's edge made me whet with anticipation for the psp. 'ridge racers' looks and sounds awesome, nice freakytriggerist review of it in the mag too.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:57 (twenty years ago)

I really, really liked the characters from KOTOR.

The characters from KOTOR2 shit all over them characters from KOTOR from a great height. It's ridiculous how much better the KOTOR2 characters are, both in terms of interactivity and usefulness.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:58 (twenty years ago)

Zombie-villagers ATTACK you with chainsaws. You can kill them and pick up LITTLE BOXES OF GOLD, but not the chainsaws?!

xpst

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 21:59 (twenty years ago)

Dan--you really, really liked Carth? I was all light-side good guy and I still had it in for that fucker.

Jordan, have you ever tried fitting a chainsaw into an attache case? It's hard, especially when you have a sniper rifle, a shotgun, a pistol and a rocket launcher already in there. Be realistic.

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:04 (twenty years ago)

I honestly can't see the appeal in playing a game like Ridge Racer on a handheld, using headphones, with a battery to worry about. But that's me, I guess.

I like minish cap! It's so old-skool.

TOMBOT, Monday, 7 February 2005 22:08 (twenty years ago)

I liked Carth a lot! Granted, I liked Mission, Bastila, the Wookie, Juhani and the old guy more (Jedis = k-kewl) but Carth was way better than both of the bots and the useless Mandalorian.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

You didn't like the orange foul-mouthed robot guy? I know sassy robots are old news but it was a nice change of pace from "where oh where is my stupid boring son?" and Juhani's whole "I was evil but now I'm not meow" schtick.

KOTOR2 is the only reason I regret selling my Xbox.

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:15 (twenty years ago)

HK-47 and TM-34 were so fucking annoying to me. I hated both of them. I had no desire to talk to or use either of them. TM-PrissyPants in particular needed to go into a shredder.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:17 (twenty years ago)

Jordan, have you ever tried fitting a chainsaw into an attache case.

You'd think he could at least get a messenger bag or something.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:19 (twenty years ago)

Also, I couldn't take HK seriously because, well, he's C-3P0 with PMS. Which means I should have loved him but I didn't, possibly because I got him too late in the game and I unusally end up sticking with the first NPCs I encounter when I play these games unless they happen to suck hardcore.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:21 (twenty years ago)

See, I ditched Mission the moment I could. I can never deal with the spunky/charming/whatever character. And the Mandalorian guy was completely useless. His war stories sucked too.

adam (adam), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:29 (twenty years ago)

But Mission is a Twi'lek and automatically cool! Also, the karma involved in the situation with her brother makes her irritating spunkiness relatively easy to deal with.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 7 February 2005 22:57 (twenty years ago)

(No-one was cooler than Bastila, though.)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 7 February 2005 23:00 (twenty years ago)

"Amazingly, the player learns in Fallout 2 that elements of the U.$. government are intact."

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Monday At Bernie's (Adrian Langston), Monday, 7 February 2005 23:35 (twenty years ago)

Fallout 2 was so fuckin' great.
Fallout Tactics wasn't bad either.

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 8 February 2005 00:40 (twenty years ago)

http://www.solidsharkey.com/ovsadako.gif

Monday At Bernie's (Adrian Langston), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 00:47 (twenty years ago)

the Twi'leks in Kotor were hott.

Carth was a whiney bitch whom i never used. oh boy, double-wielding guns! that really beats having another jedi along!

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 00:52 (twenty years ago)

i'm still pissed that Troika, the studio made up from 3 of the lead guys from Fallout(and did Vampire), is going under...

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 01:00 (twenty years ago)

Knights of the Old Republic ... or should we say Cossacks of the Old Republic?

New band name! New band name!

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 01:22 (twenty years ago)

Fallout 2 was way cool, but were the government remnant guys supposed to be Mormons or something? I could've sworn they kept singing songs about Brigham Young.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Tuesday, 8 February 2005 03:01 (twenty years ago)

http://www.duckandcover.cx/content.php?id=66

new interview with Todd Howard from Bethesda(the Morrowind guys) about Fallout 3

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 20:30 (twenty years ago)

So is it worth buying the submachine gun in RE4? It sure takes up a lot of room now if I have the handgun, shotgun, and rifle/scope as well.

Jordan (Jordan), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 20:34 (twenty years ago)

The TMP sucks.

adam (adam), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 20:35 (twenty years ago)

Okay, KOTOR II is fucking awesome in ways that I could have predicted plotwise but are totally off the charts better than what I was expecting executionwise! The fallout of Dantooine is AWESOME! Bastila who?

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 21:10 (twenty years ago)

Oh man dont spoil it. I finally got my copy this afternoon. Cant wait to play it this afternoon. I should leave work sick.

Do you play a completely different character? (ie: no way to import old character?)

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 21:14 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, you're a completely different person (although many references are made to your KOTOR I character throughout the game). That's okay, though, because you start out as a Jedi! A relatively low-powered Jedi, but that changes pretty quickly.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 21:28 (twenty years ago)

i'm still waiting to get a used PC copy of the game...

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 21:35 (twenty years ago)

IT IS SO WORTH PAYING FULL PRICE FOR (imo)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 9 February 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

The TMP sucks.

Okay, I ditched it. The sea monster was pretty cool...it was impossible until I realized I could actually STEER THE BOAT, then it was easy. Tonight I have to take out that cave troll lookin' motherfucker.

If you buy an attache case from the merchant, does that mean you have TWO cases??

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 10 February 2005 15:00 (twenty years ago)

BEVENS DID YOU FIRE UP KOTOR II AND HAVE YOU SEEN THE COOLEST CHARACTER TO EVER GRACE THE STAR WARS UNIVERSE YET???

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 10 February 2005 15:04 (twenty years ago)

(I am now imagining a hip-hop Hutt)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 10 February 2005 15:07 (twenty years ago)

(or a cube-gleaming Jedi)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 10 February 2005 15:08 (twenty years ago)

(row upon row of stormtroopers, one in a leather jacket)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 10 February 2005 15:09 (twenty years ago)

It's actually a blinged-out Ilthorian with a battle hoodie.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 10 February 2005 15:11 (twenty years ago)

Droids with aviator glasses.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 10 February 2005 15:14 (twenty years ago)

(the actual character I'm talking about isn't going to seem half as cool now)

(and for people who have seen/played the game, I'm not talking about the "cool" character)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 10 February 2005 15:44 (twenty years ago)

If you buy an attache case from the merchant, does that mean you have TWO cases??

Jordan, please try and be realistic here. RE4 is a detailed and true-to-lige evil-Spanish-villager-shooting simulation. How would Leon carry TWO attache cases, a shotgun, a rocket launcher, a pistol, a sniper rifle, herbs, magic first aid sprays and golden healing chicken eggs all at once while also wielding a knife and a gun?

ie No, you just get a slightly bigger attache case. But you need it. For serious.

adam (adam), Thursday, 10 February 2005 16:06 (twenty years ago)

life wasting. what a repugnant title for a thread.

Sébastien Chikara (Sébastien Chikara), Thursday, 10 February 2005 16:07 (twenty years ago)

on the other hand it keeps in mind what can be an actual problem.

Sébastien Chikara (Sébastien Chikara), Thursday, 10 February 2005 16:10 (twenty years ago)

Oh, chicken eggs heal you? I just thought they were salmonella grenades.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 10 February 2005 16:17 (twenty years ago)

haha seba kisses!

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 11 February 2005 00:26 (twenty years ago)

I bought Winning Eleven 8 last night and it is pretty fun.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Friday, 11 February 2005 00:30 (twenty years ago)

Dan are you talking about Kreia? I havent gotten that far.

How far have you gotten? I hope I didnt make a mistake by starting as an aspiring evil Jedi Guardian. I played the other two classes on KOTOR I and wanted a change.

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Friday, 11 February 2005 00:34 (twenty years ago)

Is Winning Eleven better than FIFA?

Scott CE (Scott CE), Friday, 11 February 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

Wait, you haven't gotten to Kreia yet??? Have you only been playing for 5 minutes? (And yes, I am talking about Kreia; I LOVE HER)

I've gotten to a pretty critical showdown; I've visited most of the ancilliary destinations, have gathered all of the companions (I think; all the slots are filled anyway, or at least THEY WERE) and have turned into a mega light-side Jedi Watchman. I'm about to go into a gigantic showdown and I think I'm only 2/3 of the way through the game.

I can see the relatively low rating KOTOR II got, seeing as KOTOR bordered on being a "revolutionary Star Wars experience" and II doesn't drastically change it, but WOW THE CHARACTER INTERACTIONS ARE SOOOOOO GREAT THIS GAME SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN 9.8 ACROSS THE BOARD.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 11 February 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

Is Winning Eleven better than FIFA?

YES YES YES YES

adam (adam), Friday, 11 February 2005 19:19 (twenty years ago)

I need to get more hip to how the mentor/influencing system works in KOTOR2. Is it a bad idea to be dark and have kreia be light since youre joined and all that?

I just got to telos so I havent delved much into the game.

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Friday, 11 February 2005 19:29 (twenty years ago)

Ah, okay. Telos is fun (and has some really great side-quest things).

The influence thing pulls characters closer to whatever alignment you have, so you have to worry more about balancing your alignment choices with your influence choices (some companions respond quickly to light-side reactions while others respond to dark-side, but most have relatively neutral responses that don't change your alignment too much).

I didn't worry about Kreia's alignment at all; I just set her on Jedi Support and leeched off of her powerups in battle.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Friday, 11 February 2005 19:38 (twenty years ago)

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Saturday, 12 February 2005 20:50 (twenty years ago)

(argh I have just realized that I completely fucked up KOTOR II and missed out on Jedi-izing half of my party)

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 14 February 2005 17:54 (twenty years ago)

RE4 is still awesome. I feel bad about running away from the second El Gigante instead of killing it though.

The part where you're back in the village and it's all dark and stormy (right after getting the girl) is genuinely frightening.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 14 February 2005 18:15 (twenty years ago)

I keep getting killed by the computer in Winning Eleven. Too much fussing with the finger-buttons.

I beat Metal Gear Solid 3 in a few days but I was playing it on "easy." Should I play through it again on "normal?"

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 14 February 2005 18:24 (twenty years ago)

I just bought Winning Eleven on Friday. My plucky Morroccan side lost to the scrappy Nigerians nil-one.

I'm clueless when it comes to soccer strategy, hopefully there's a thread on it somewhere.

laurence kansas (lawrence kansas), Monday, 14 February 2005 18:30 (twenty years ago)

winning eleven players shd post to the 'pro evolution soccer 4' (the UK title) thread.

yeah, tracer, I've not played MGS3 yet but MGS2 got better the harder the difficulty.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 14 February 2005 18:49 (twenty years ago)

Pro Evo 4

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 14 February 2005 18:50 (twenty years ago)

thanks!

laurence kansas (lawrence kansas), Monday, 14 February 2005 18:50 (twenty years ago)

so dan do you basically have to lie to most of your party members to influence them enough to become jedi? I tried sticking to my guns by trying to be as evil as possible, but I find that kinda ruins the sway you can develop over party members.

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Monday, 14 February 2005 19:27 (twenty years ago)

I wouldn't worry too much about sticking to your guns; there's almost always a way to gain back any light or dark side points that you lose while influencing your party.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 14 February 2005 19:40 (twenty years ago)

Dear Obsidian, I like you a lot IN THAT WAY and I hope we can go steady. (just based on the prologue to KOTOR II, and the first few conversations with Kreia)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 16:21 (twenty years ago)

All this KOTOR 2 talk is making me extremely jealous as I have neither Xbox nor PC--BIOWARE WHERE THE FUCK IS THE MAC VERSION. Or at least the Gamecube version.

Anyone played that new Starfox yet?

I got F-Zero GX for 10 bucks and love it. Why did people not like this game?

adam (adam), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 16:56 (twenty years ago)

Adam! Should I ditch my Red9 for a Magnum? I'm at the bit where motherfuckers are catapulting fire at me (just after I've dispatched my greatest foe yet, A TRUCK).

These sorts of things make me paralyzed with indecision.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 17:24 (twenty years ago)

Minish Cap is GREAT. I could play 20 games like this and not get bored. I've been thinking about the design elements of the game and how they work to keep it floating above the doldrums that kill so many "adventure" (action/RPG/puzzle) games, it's really brilliant.

1. Kinstones make it so that you have an incentive to go back and talk to people, or talk to people in the first place - WHAT DO YOU MEAN, I CAN ACTUALLY MOVE THE ACTION ALONG BY JUST CHATTING WITH THE PEASANTS AND THE FARM ANIMALS? Every time I'm stuck on anything or forget what I'm supposed to be doing I just run around talking to people and things to see if I can get another side quest or a few more items!

2. Side quests out the wazoo. This relates vaguely to #1 but even without that aspect there's still like a hundred little things to do. The entire progress of the game is broken down piecemeal.

3. Gathering cash and such is totally secondary to the game's progress. Maybe about 3 items in the game are items "for sale" actually necessary to complete a quest, everything else is butter!

4. Difficulty is properly dynamic with your sword/heart levels, and you can't get way ahead and make the game ridiculously easy.

I've been playing FF type RPGs for far too long, I forgot how much nearly everything about them is boring and stupid and pointless. Dear Capcom, more of the same please.

NB I am worried I might finish it in the next couple of days or so, what do I do then?

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 15 February 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

Read a book? Work on my research papers?

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 15 February 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

Minish Cap made me sort of anxious with all the layers and side quests, every time you get a new item you have to scour the world again and access all the places you couldn't get into before. I'm kind of anal about these things and it started to seem like too much of a chore. I'm sure I'll get back into it after I finish RE4 though.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

the last dungeon is insane. it kinda makes the game top heavy. and apparently the final boss (vaati!) is even insaner (3 forms - wtf?) I agree with tom but (oh no!) a lot of what he says completely applies to the (1996?) original snes zelda. the graphics are really, really great too.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 18:14 (twenty years ago)

goddamn real life keeps interrupting my video game time.

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 18:40 (twenty years ago)

Jordan--don't get the Magnum. It's not really worth it. I bought the 2nd gen one later in the game and barely used it. The ammo is super scarce. Make sure you have a rifle 'cause without it I imagine the fire-catapulting part is really difficult.

adam (adam), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 18:46 (twenty years ago)

Tom's point 4 is completely crucial, and something I first noticed about whatever the PlayStation Zelda knock-off was: all the running aorund putting in time from FF is of no use to you - you progress by progressing, not by logging hours. This is healthier than the way I usually play games.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 15 February 2005 18:47 (twenty years ago)

yo, RPG geeks! if you haven't yet, go here and buy the Fallout 1 & 2 combo pack for like $7.90. It's some of the best value you get nowadays.

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Thursday, 17 February 2005 05:11 (twenty years ago)

"NB I am worried I might finish it in the next couple of days or so, what do I do then?"

time to eke another 100 hours out of FFTA!

¬_¬ (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Thursday, 17 February 2005 06:17 (twenty years ago)

TOM I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU BRING THE MINISH CAP LOVE. I got it yesterday and it's fucking great. Yay for ILE turning me on to yet another time-sucking void!

adam (adam), Saturday, 19 February 2005 23:11 (twenty years ago)

I bring it too adam!!! it is pretty awesome! I am buying a DS the day they come out.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 19 February 2005 23:44 (twenty years ago)

Love for Cozen too! I'm enjoying the Minish Cap enough that I am considering giving Wind Waker another go despite my nightmarish memories of endless sailing and boulder-pushing puzzles.

adam (adam), Sunday, 20 February 2005 20:43 (twenty years ago)

haha i've been playing WW a little bit lately. the sailing is really uh punishing. the swordfighting is GRATE tho and so are the piglets:

http://www.planetnintendo.com/zelda/games_mainseries/zelda9/artwork/prerelease1.jpg

i have no reservations about calling it the best Zelda game ever

as we proceed!! (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Sunday, 20 February 2005 22:24 (twenty years ago)

Oh man I lurrv windwaker. The graphics! The music! That bit where hes inside the tree and its all gorgeous hanging mosses and little leaf creatures and... wo.

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 20 February 2005 23:08 (twenty years ago)

I would call it the best Zelda game ever if it wasn't for all. the. fucking. sailing. So instead I have to pick Majora's Mask (until I get The Minish Cap)

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Monday, 21 February 2005 00:20 (twenty years ago)

Yeah the sailing can go on a bit but, I do love how seamless it is when you go thru storms, or approach one of the islands - no loading pauses at all, and it is all very atmospheric.

Eventually you get to a point in WW where you can shortcut past so much sailing, if you havent already.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 21 February 2005 00:33 (twenty years ago)

i don't think it's the best zelda ever, mainly since they felt the need to put a fucking STEALTH LEVEL right as the first major setpiece of the game.

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Monday, 21 February 2005 05:15 (twenty years ago)

The bit where you have to sneak around that islandy thing at the start, hiding under barrels? That part is way annoying.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 21 February 2005 05:45 (twenty years ago)

I destroyed minish cap this weekend. I think I only have 5 kinstones left to fuse, and I've gotten everything with the exception of a few heart containers I think. It's very bittersweet to complete a game like this, it's the first time in quite a while I've played something through to the end that was this involving and there's NO GODDAMN SECOND QUEST. BOOOO. BOO.

The final boss was a little amusing to me, not particularly difficult per se but HOW MANY SPECIAL ITEMS AND ABILITIES DO I HAVE TO USE TO BEAT THIS SON OF A BITCH? I challenge anybody to come up with a game that has more throughly convoluted boss fights than minish cap. I mean what the fuck.

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:23 (twenty years ago)

OTOH, Gamestop was apparently on the last day of their totally unnanounced in-store sale whereby one could acquire 3 used GBA carts for the price of 2, so I picked up FFTA, Fire Emblem AND Four Swords for a relative pittance, sans manuals or packaging of course. I would have picked up Lunar Legend and the Lufia game except that they were priced lower relative to the above trifecta and would have entailed me not getting the absolute highest possible discount in the transaction.

I suspect will either love or loathe Fire Emblem. It doesn't matter, as the only real point to all this is to hold me over until Sigma Star Saga comes out in June.

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:30 (twenty years ago)

yeah I completed minish cap yesterday and vaati is like some weirdo. I've now picked up the mirror shield (but no light arrows damn!) and have a few kinstones left to fuse. only thing annoying abt trying to complete this game: getting those goddamn statues but you can't get the final heart piece till you have all 300 (!!!). yeah I totally need another quest. I'm thinking, zelda four swords game cube. have you ever played 'the ocarina of time' tom?

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:30 (twenty years ago)

wind waker is the best zelda game ever (exc. minish cap? ooooh who knows) but yeah andrews right the sailing drags and yr best using a faq to help pick up the location of the maps at sea.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:32 (twenty years ago)

no love for majora's mask?

charleston charge (chaki), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 22:50 (twenty years ago)

askfhasf ocarina of time. i picked up the gamecube version last month and it's pretty infuriating to play it with the GC controller - the super-sensitive analog stick makes it almost impossible to beat that goddamn slingshot minigame in the Market. otherwise solid game, but it hasn't aged well.

squeeee (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 23:02 (twenty years ago)

on the other hand, I could probably play Link to the past for the rest of my life.

squeeee (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Tuesday, 22 February 2005 23:03 (twenty years ago)

majora's mask, chaki, I've never played :/

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 02:55 (twenty years ago)

finally beat Fallout. Am now restarting Fallout 2, only this time using a superslutty sniper chick character who'll sleep her way to victory!

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 03:19 (twenty years ago)

also, note, fr posterity, kicks and KUDOS, I completed 'zelda: the wind waker'!

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 03:20 (twenty years ago)

add up yr kotchke

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 03:21 (twenty years ago)

My two absolute favorite timewasters since getting into videogames again: Katamari Damacy and Minish Cap. Apparently I really love the idea of being a tiny person clad all in green with a dumb looking hat on.

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 23 February 2005 03:38 (twenty years ago)

3 really great gams for gba are Wario Ware, Mario Golf and DK VS MARIO!!! also theres GTA for GBA now!

charleston charge (chaki), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 03:41 (twenty years ago)

I have a nearly-completed version of Wind Waker waiting until I get a GBA to do the demented fairy quests. They call me SODUK.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 23 February 2005 11:46 (twenty years ago)

I tried to get started on FFTA this morning and froze up in exasperation at the "name yourself" screen. Like, can I get a game where I am NOT some kind of androgynous Aryan pussywillow and all my friends have stupid-ass unisex monikers? Seriously I think Kirby, who is a PINK BUBBLE, is more heroic than this nymph of the lilypads they want me to pretend I am here. I even restarted, tried to name him/her/it AGAIN, and got stuck once more because looking at that stupid little face gave me a brain fart. ARRRGH.

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 23 February 2005 18:27 (twenty years ago)

haha I named my FFTA dude Big L. (Clan Nutsy became Clan Wu-Tang, which was sort of lame) I can't believe you're stuck on this, but have no problems at all with RAMZA BEOULVE.

pokey!!11!1 (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Thursday, 24 February 2005 06:32 (twenty years ago)

i like how the price of the used gamecube version of ocarina of time is the same price as a used nintendo 64 + ocarina of time cartridge.

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Thursday, 24 February 2005 08:23 (twenty years ago)

actually I bought the zelda collection, which has zelda 1 & 2, ocarina and majora's mask on one disc. (also i did recently acquire a used N64+OoT cartridge, but prefer playing on the GC since n64 graphics always appear to be filtered through a screen of jizz)

pokey!!11!1 (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Thursday, 24 February 2005 08:42 (twenty years ago)

tom/chaki, have you played 'advance wars'?

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 25 February 2005 11:20 (twenty years ago)

I renamed RAMZA to HANSEL which helped things a bit (he's so hot right now) but I don't know if I'll be picking that up again for a while because now that I'm into it FFTA is SO MUCH BETTER.
The pixel graphics on the DS are so much nicer than the crappy rendered 3D terrain maps from the PS version.

After a little bit of soul-searching I realized what my REAL problem was with playing as a tow-headed milquetoast with no athletic ability or fashion sense and named my FFTA character "Tom." Tom of CLAN SUPERBAD.

More on that topic I realized this morning that FFT/FFTA should really just be renamed "Final Fantasy: Human Resources Management," I mean I'm only a few hours in and I already feel like I should be putting together Training And Orientation For New Hires packets or some shit. "Take him down the hall, get his badge made up, issue him a White Staff, Leather Garb and send him on a Level 1 Dispatch." WHY IS IT FUN?

TOMBOT, Friday, 25 February 2005 17:08 (twenty years ago)

"Hey Mr. Tom, I mastered Cure, Fire, Thunder and Blizzard" "Good job, son. Sign this job change form. Clan Superbad needs you to be a thief for a couple of weeks. You'll be on the fast track in no time."

TOMBOT, Friday, 25 February 2005 17:12 (twenty years ago)

i assume all the World of Warcraft zombies haven't mentioned it because they can't tear themselves away.

Lukas (lukas), Friday, 25 February 2005 22:01 (twenty years ago)

That seems to be the case. My coworker keeps bitching at me to get on there with him and I'm like "uhhhh"

TOMBOT, Friday, 25 February 2005 22:25 (twenty years ago)

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 28 February 2005 06:34 (twenty years ago)

also, halflife2 and battlefield2 for the PC look really good, but my roommate's pc sux so they probably wouldn't work at all

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 28 February 2005 06:38 (twenty years ago)

TOMBOT, why did you say "dear capcom, more of the same please"? did capcom develop minish cap? or do you want capcom to make an rpg? i like capcom games.

i tried to play through majora's mask again the other day because i never finished it. it's rubbish. the time limit is annoying. the save option is terrible. i played mario 64 as well. best game ever.

i am obsessed with rpgs at the moment. just finished secret of evermore on the snes. it's made by square us. so good. it has a big market where you can exchange goods and stuff for chocobo eggs and magic gourds. did secret of mana have this? i never played it. i am bidding on a copy on ebay though.

the other games i am playing.

-dragon master 4 on the nes. made by enix. they make good rpgs. it's split into chapters where you take on different characters.
-zelda on the nes. really hard. i keep having to use the map. the arrow guys are really annoying.
-star tropics on the nes. it's an rpg. your character is called mike jones!!!
-crystalis by snk. it's really cool. like zelda but with experience points. the music is good. you get to charge up your sword and shoot a fireball instead of having to have full hearts.
-final fantasy. i found a really good experience spot. just above the pirate town where you get the ship. there's lots of zombulls and green ogres. i don't think they're supposed to turn up that early in the game. my black mage keeps dying all the time.
-metroid. so good. but why did they make the passwords so long and complicated?

i feel like i need to play some more modern games though. what good rpgs or platform games are there on the ps2 & gamecube?
i hate all those half life halo geeky army man games. they're crap. i want cute and fun and involving plots.

bn, Monday, 28 February 2005 13:56 (twenty years ago)

should i get the SONIC games on the gamecube?

bn, Monday, 28 February 2005 13:57 (twenty years ago)

capcom, surprisingly yeah, did develop, or hand a hand in developing, minish cap.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 28 February 2005 16:48 (twenty years ago)

BN, do you have a GBA? Then get Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission, and Castlevania Aria of Sorrows for AWESOME platformers. Also Final Fantasy I & II.

I've got Sonic for GBA. SO nostalgic. I've only been playing Sonic 1 & 2 since those are the ones I played back in the day. I tried a couple of the later ones on the disc but they seemed kind of crappy. I miss games that you can beat on a weekend morning.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 28 February 2005 17:14 (twenty years ago)

I'm about 75% of the way through Resident Evil 4 and it's probably in my top 5 gaming experiences of all-time.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 28 February 2005 17:16 (twenty years ago)

I am itching to play RE4. I busted out the 'wind waker' this weekend and it brought waves of nostalgia.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 28 February 2005 17:17 (twenty years ago)

The festival at the beginning of Minish Cap is like an exact replica of the one from Chrono Trigger. That's cool.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Monday, 28 February 2005 17:22 (twenty years ago)

Oh but you guys were right to say so many good things about it, this is the best zelda game since the first gameboy one.

Dan I. (Dan I.), Monday, 28 February 2005 17:24 (twenty years ago)

how are the gamecube metroids? are they developed by someone other than nintendo? i didn't really enjoy starfox adventures; there's something about RARE games that that doesn't seem right.

bn, Monday, 28 February 2005 17:26 (twenty years ago)

I LOVE RESIDENT EVIL 4

IT'S MY WIFE AND IT'S MY WIFE
RESIDENT EVIL 4

adam (adam), Monday, 28 February 2005 17:26 (twenty years ago)

The festival at the beginning of Minish Cap is like an exact replica of the one from Chrono Trigger. That's cool.

I noted this as well, except in Minish Cap you already KNOW she's the princess instead of finding out later and getting thrown in the clink for it. It was kind of like a scene quote or a shot quote in a movie, it weirded me out for a second actually.

TOMBOT, Monday, 28 February 2005 18:58 (twenty years ago)

Me too.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 28 February 2005 18:59 (twenty years ago)

i beat toe jam and earl twice last nite, so now im moving on to pokemon ruby. ive never played ay of these pokemon games, but they sure are fun

phil-two (phil-two), Monday, 28 February 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

I'm a saddo. I've just gotten back into SimCity 4, having found that there is an active community of fans who, thanks to Maxis's foresight, are able to make their own buildings, cars, trains and parks/trees etc for the game using Gmax. So basically, whatever the game is missing, fans can now make and give to everyone to use.

It's fantastic. Some guy is replicating Melbourne at the moment and it's pretty impressive. Er, if you find this kind of thing interesting that is.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 28 February 2005 22:52 (twenty years ago)

Gran Turismo 4 has a Chapparal 2J in it. It is therefore the best video game ever.

tylero (tylero), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 00:03 (twenty years ago)

has anyone played EA's 'fight night 2'? it looks really really good.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 01:30 (twenty years ago)

am about 2/3rds of the way thru Fallout 2. My chick character got married to another girl, and then whored her out to the porn studio as a fluff for 3 bucks a fluff!

also ordered Anachronax due to all the positive feedback i'd heard about it(mainly from SA Goons). I like it that your character is essentially a hardboiled drunken gumshoe on a trashy future planet.

Plus, your Gal Friday died, so you encode her personality onto your hovering PDA that follows you around. She's all hot with her dead mod-dressing self.

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Tuesday, 1 March 2005 02:14 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, FFT was my favorite game once upon a time (o salad days), but I find it nearly unplayable now. Engrish and broken game mechanics, joy.

bn - I'm bummed to hear that about Majora's Mask. I'm not really enjoying Ocarina very much either, to tell the truth. Maybe these just aren't my kind of games anymore. Secret of Mana was great, but there wasn't much in the way of items & customization. I have to credit it with introducing me to that style of trad Japanese RPG (damning with faint praise?), I thought it was the most wonderful thing ever when I was 7 or 8 years old. And then came Chrono Trigger!!

yaydrian (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 03:40 (twenty years ago)

I'm playing a little bit of World of Warcraft lately, but by and large it's the most boring shit ever. The social element is supposed to be the sell, and I know like 30 ppl who have the game, but for some reason I NEVER GET TO PLAY WITH THEM. so uh, now I have to justify having paid for like four months in advance. MODDAFUCK ]]]:

yaydrian (PUNXSUTAWNEY PENIS), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 03:48 (twenty years ago)

Chrono Trigger is a game where they give you so many options of how you want to play through it to the end, but no matter what there's really only one way to do it that's not a huge pain in the ass. I wouldn't mind so much if they made a tactical RPG time-travel game, though, or even just a sci-fi one. I'm kinda sick of having to resort to swords & sorcery environments every time I want to have my kinda fun. Fuckin' Nintendo.

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 2 March 2005 03:52 (twenty years ago)

GODDAMMIT FALLOUT 2 STOP CRASHING!

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 06:21 (twenty years ago)

bn - I'm bummed to hear that about Majora's Mask.

Don't be - it isn't even slightly true.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 07:38 (twenty years ago)

Sonic Adventure has moments of real old-school brilliance but it will mostly frustrate and annoy you. The old ones are perfect obv.

I can't wait to play videogames again. I'm writing 1/8 of my degree on the bastards and all I have time to play is bloody Mage Craft. I'll probably have another go at finishing Varicella pretty soon, too.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 2 March 2005 08:32 (twenty years ago)

i guess i was too harsh on majora's mask. i mean, it's zelda - it looks beautiful, plays wonderfully, is one of the most immersive 3D gaming environments you could wish for, it's just fucking annoying that you have a time limit!

tombot - you'd like secret of evermore, it involves time travel and sci fi. you start off coming out of the cinema when suddenly your dog chases a cat and discovers some old disused warehouse or something. you go inside and get teleported to a world that has different stages of man's evolution on each landmass - prehistory, classical, medieval, and a weird space station with metal robot raptors! you get cool weapons like bazookas and plasma swords and instead of mp, spells rely on mixing ingredients. at one point it has a really complicated roman market where you get to exchange rice and perfumes and oils and what not for armour and shit loads of other objects. the fighting is in real time though.

why didn't they release chrono trigger in the uk :(

tell me good rpgs to get for the ps2/gamecube! i get paid tomorrow. does anyone rate PAPER MARIO?

bn, Thursday, 3 March 2005 07:50 (twenty years ago)

you can play chrono trigger thru an emulator, ya know...

and tombot, play fallout(it's out for Mac, too). it's got knives and guns and ho's and booze and drugs and mutants and weird pop culture references and multiple kinds of blasters

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Thursday, 3 March 2005 08:04 (twenty years ago)

I'll try and track down Secret Of Evermore.

KF I've played Fallout 2! I even played Brotherhood of Steel for a while! I got so depressed about that one mission where the aboveground farmer people massacre all the tunnel dwellers and I could never find the kidnapped child or whatever in time, that drove me nuts. I'd like to try and play the original Fallout though, that sounds like it'd be more fun.

TOMBOT, Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:08 (twenty years ago)

I'm on Chapter 5-3 in Resident Evil, surely I must be almost done??? Game gets kind HARD near the end.

I bought a couple games last night - Super Smash Bros. because we have houseguests this weekend, and Mega Man Collection. I was so excited to fire up Mega Man 2, but I have two nits: 1) the controls feel weird to me, I think they switched up the A & B functions from the original! and 2) there is no 'normal' difficulty option, only 'Difficult' or whatever it was called.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:25 (twenty years ago)

the ghost farm one is tricky. you hafta both figure out that the bodies are fake AND that the farmer they scared off is Karl the drunk sitting in Mom's Cafe in the Den. you have to do both before you talk to the homicidal mayor again.

and the kidnapped kid is underground, on a screen just to the N/NW, in a group of kids by the underground lake.

Kingfish MuffMiner 2049er (Kingfish), Thursday, 3 March 2005 14:58 (twenty years ago)

I'm on Chapter 5-3 in Resident Evil, surely I must be almost done??? Game gets kind HARD near the end.

Chapter 5 is awesome. You're almost done. The last bit of C5 is crazy intense, to the point where my girlfriend put down what she was doing and watched the game all like "holy crap."

I sold RE4 yesterday and picked up MVP Baseball 2005, whoo.

adam (adam), Thursday, 3 March 2005 17:43 (twenty years ago)

My girlfriend caught the bit where you see the regenerator on the closed circuit monitor, and then it's behind you, and then even when you shoot out all the Plagas on its torso and its legs it SLITHERS TOWARDS YOU and skewers you with giant spikes. She refused to watch any more after that.

Right now I'm at the boss fight with Sergeant Slaughter or whoever, all the dodging in the cutscene is really annoying.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 3 March 2005 17:58 (twenty years ago)

FUCK THAT CUTSCENE

I finally finished Res Evil 4. I love how the solution to every boss fight was BUY A ROCKET LAUNCHER = ONE HIT KILL! Capitalism at its best. The jet ski was lame though. I don't think I'll play through the bonus minigames, they seem really hard.

Up next, maybe Metroid Prime or Echoes?

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:09 (twenty years ago)

does RE4 looks as good running as everyone says it does (i.e. 'the best looking game on any this-gen system')?

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:11 (twenty years ago)

It really does (though I don't feel qualified to say "best evah"). Totally smooth and immersive, and I only had ONE moment of camera issues during 23+ hours of gameplay.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:14 (twenty years ago)

Resident Evil always had that "turn the wooden robot" feel to its control system, has that changed at all? They felt stone-age the day Tomb Raider 1 was released. And I dunno maybe I'm the only one who has no time to fool with adding items to their inventory, I don't give a shit, just pick it up and move on.

On another tip my flatmate got the new Ghost in the Shell game and it looks alright but nothing, I mean NOTHING like the original Ghost in the Shell game for Playstation 1, which in some ways is my favorite Playstation game of all time. Is there anything for PS2 that can compare with this? Being able to climb up any wall in your spidertank, fuck, just being a SPIDERTANK in the first place, shussing from side to side, blowing fuck out of things, crawling miles up a booby-trapped airshaft. Anything that compares?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:26 (twenty years ago)

Aw yeah dude, the control system is totally new. I couldn't have dealt with that old shit. You're sort of looking over the guy's right shoulder, so it's strangely intuitive. You also always have a laser sight for aiming, which is AWESOME.

The item thing isn't a big deal, it automatically picks things up and arranges it in the inventory if there's space, otherwise you have to move things around or drop them. I was only totally full up a few times. Also, you can kill fish and put them in your attache case for later.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:41 (twenty years ago)

I've been wasting my time away at mvp 2005 with the shitty dodgers. Must.. win.. NL West..

MVP 2005 is great even though I suck at anything but "Rookie" difficulty.

adam (adam), Monday, 7 March 2005 19:00 (twenty years ago)

have almost beaten Fallout 2, but i keep getting tripped up during the final base and the end boss fight(the big guy who actally carries what the game lists as "End Boss Plasma Gun").

Am also still in the midst of Anachronox, which is better b/c i finally got the hero's droid working, so i now can have a little smartassed droid rolling around as my main character. the writing and voice acting in this game is fookin' great, too.

kingfish, Monday, 7 March 2005 21:06 (twenty years ago)

Ive decided that I can only handle MVP 2005 with the fielding set to 'assisted' because pitching and hitting are difficult enough for me. I kinda wish that games were shorter than 45 minutes long because I find myself swinging at any piece of shit pitch just so I can get through innings as quickly as possible.

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Monday, 7 March 2005 21:16 (twenty years ago)

I do that too, it's really sad. A base hit is like a triumph for me, most at bats go 1 pitch, swing and it's in the 3rd baseman's glove.

I don't like assisted fielding because I really enjoy nailing some fucking Yankees or Cardinals or whatever in a double play (which the computer is incapable of setting up). Pitching goes pretty well as long as I rotate pitchers out once their stamina hits 75% or so (I haven't messed with franchise mode yet so I don't have to deal with their bitching). The computer batters are stupid and will fall for like 3 sinkers in their blue areas in a row.

best part so far is fighting a giant toaster. I have no idea wht's going on really, thr's a witch involved, and some sort of tron-style yr-in-the-computer plot hinge but yeah it's in japanese. it's like a cross betw. all those old crazy digging / cave games (on the spectrum and commodore earlies), mario bros, and japan. and the music is just sublime throughout.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 14 March 2005 10:12 (twenty years ago)

does it work on windows 95? it looks pretty cool. did anyone see the top 100 nintendo games in the offical nintendo magazine? there was a bit too much gb advance in there but i've kind of lapsed since the n64. first computer games magazing i've bought since i was like 12 or something. it had all the old classic covers in there. i still have the one with the lethal weapon game on the front. and the streetfighter 2 stickers they gave away once are still all stuck to my bed! i'm going to buy a game for the gamecube. animal crossing looks pretty cool. keeping in mind i only have zelda windwaker, what should i get?

scg, Monday, 14 March 2005 11:13 (twenty years ago)

I dunno if DM works on windows 95. um probably?

I'm going to have to pick up that ninty, is the list in the latest issue?

resident evil 4 seems to be the latest draft-pick fr the gcube, scg. I wd recommend f-zero gx if you have a big telly and three mates. fight night 2 looks like it'd be great too. other titles worth looking at: metroid prime 2, zelda four swords, mario kart: double dash, um.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 14 March 2005 11:17 (twenty years ago)

the guy at work keeps telling me about gran turismo. how he was playing it for almost 10 hours straight and he only did like 5 races or something. he came in on friday (thurs night shift finishes at 4 am) and hadn't slept. he just bought a honda. he says there's only 19 in the country. he keeps telling me about the exhaust he wants to get fitted and then asks me if i'm into cars and forgets that i've already said no about a hundred times.

scg, Monday, 14 March 2005 11:17 (twenty years ago)

i want the new zelda but i understand you can't really get into it properly without an advance tingle tuner style?

scg, Monday, 14 March 2005 11:18 (twenty years ago)

: /

can you use the DS as an advance tingle tuner?

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 14 March 2005 11:19 (twenty years ago)

well you can still play gb advance games in the ds can't you? if you have the gb advance and link it up to the tingle tuner will he read the triforce charts for free?

scg, Monday, 14 March 2005 11:24 (twenty years ago)

nintendo need to make a ltd edition version of the advance shaped like the tingle tuner. then i'd buy it. cozen, i'm not sure if that magazine is this month or not because in my shop they seem to have 2, one with the list and another with metroid on the cover. i bought it this month though so i guess it must be. it's a strange list.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 20:58 (twenty years ago)

Did you get a pricey system? I tried to keep my PC on the reasonable side and when I tried to rev up my first game on high settings the shit totally sucked. Ive been debating buying more RAM ever since like 3 weeks after I first bought the thing.

Half Life 2?

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 21:09 (twenty years ago)

first game: Kotor 2. hopefully there's a decent patch for it by now.

kingfish, Wednesday, 16 March 2005 21:17 (twenty years ago)

I got a semi-serious system (about $1500 all told from newegg.com - and I didn't need a new monitor). I'm actually going to build it myself. I've been thinking either Half-Life2 or Doom3. If I play KOTOR2, should I skip KOTOR1?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 21:20 (twenty years ago)

I'm also looking forward to Homeworld2.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 21:25 (twenty years ago)

What about this Pirates! game???

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:23 (twenty years ago)

If I play KOTOR2, should I skip KOTOR1?

Ganeplay-wise, the games are virtually identical with the main difference being the ability to manipulate and alter your companions' personalities in KOTOR2. Storywise, both games are absolutely worth owning.

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:28 (twenty years ago)

I feel like the KOTOR2 storyline is basically the same as part one, only a bit different. However, Im sure you can find KOTOR1 on Ebay for like 10 bucks.

Dude, are you a 15 year old asian chick? (jingleberries), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:37 (twenty years ago)

Are the graphics very different?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:38 (twenty years ago)

Haven't seen the PC version of KOTOR2 but from what I can tell comparing PC to X-Box, there isn't any real difference (and since the games are only a year apart and built on the same graphics engine, that's not that surprising).

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 22:39 (twenty years ago)

Cool, I'm going to run it at 1600x1200!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 16 March 2005 23:06 (twenty years ago)

Katamari Damacy for DS
Age Of Empires for DS
Advance Wars DS

and Sigma Star Saga for GBA is on the way. I still don't understand why people seem to think the PSP is launching with an impressive array of titles - do people really find the idea of playing racing games and FPS's on a portable system that enthralling?

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 23 March 2005 14:16 (twenty years ago)

I was thinking FFTA was so easy it was bordering on dull but now I've gotten to the point where it's no longer so much about beating other people up as it is about doing so while not going to JAIL for it.

The first two times I knew what I was getting into, because the guy at the store said "yeah, we have these, they might have been returned or something? The discs are all still there!". The third time was a plastic-wrapped copy, and I had to get a note from Blizzard saying "This account was activated a month before it arrived in store. Give him his money back while we go have a talk with Jeff in packing".

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 23 March 2005 19:53 (twenty years ago)

OK, Gran Turismo 4. All you RPG nerds can feel free to skip this, but I am dorking out here. I have found the secret to TOTAL DOMINATION for the first several races:

1) Get your licences through at least International B.
2) Buy a Honda Civic (pref an inexpensive one from the early '90s in the used lot) and trick it out.
3) Enter the one-make Civic race and beat everyone. You will win an '87 Civic race car that goes fast as stink.
4) Enter the Civic race car in the Capri Rally. You'll probably be matched up against a weaksauce Celica whom you can beat handily. After beating it forward and backward, you win a ridiculously superpowered Toyota rally car.
5) Enter that rally car in the Japanese Championship under the Japanese hall. Win 1st, and you get a Nissan 350Z Le Mans concept.
6) Enter that in the one-make "Z" race. (Your opponents will include, hilariously enough, at least 3 cars from 1989 or earlier with roughly 180 hp, which is some 300-400 less than you have.)
7) Enter the 350Z or the Civic or the Toyota rally car in the Umbria rally. You will win a Cadillac Cien concept which has an obscene amount of HP.
8) Enter the Cien in the MR championship. It will be laughably easy.
9) Count your money and your prize cars, knowing full well it will eventually get more difficult, but who gives a shit.

Stupornaut (natepatrin), Saturday, 26 March 2005 21:16 (twenty years ago)

10) Save up around $68,000 to buy the '62 Buick Special and destroy all competition in the American events (winning a '70 Superbird and a '70 Chevelle in the process; the latter you can use in the one event series that doesn't allow non-production cars)

This game is total car geek Valhalla

hey Diablo 2/Deus Ex fans, there's a new game to play:

It's called "Restricted Area". The demo's out and is fun.

http://www.restricted-area.net/demo.shtml

at first glance, it looks like an Action RPG a'la Diablo, with some cyberpunk from Deus Ex mixed in along with some post-apocalyptic bits from Fallout. so far, so good.

in other news, the guys who DID do Diablo 2 are currently working on "Hellgate: London", a first-person actiony thing:

Fire Emblem for the GBA is hot. This is a totally $$$ piece of gaming IP, the forthcoming sequel appears to have absolutely no difference in either the graphics or the gameplay at all yet I STILL WANT IT.

Also Metal Slug 4+5 double pack just came out for PS2, with unlimited continues. Am I dumb to be excited about this?

I still haven't gotten around to checking out Front Mission 4 yet. I actually haven't picked up the PS2 controller in a long time except to play DVDs.

Did anybody else see the coverage of Spore (Will Wright's new game) at 1UP or hear anything from E3? Sickening.

Play it for the Art Design alone. I've just gotten to the part where the hero is stomping thru Lungfishopolis, and getting shot at by tanks as you wreck buildings.

the anguished cries of the fleeing commoners are great. "He hates children!" "He's impervious to bullets...and love!"

Dan I. (Dan I.), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 05:21 (twenty years ago)

yeah, Tim Schafer, who also worked Full Throttle & Monkey Island.

he uses the "News" section of his game studio's website as his personal blog, writing about, among other things, his toenails growing.

http://www.doublefine.com/news.htm

he also put this on the company jobs page:

...But maybe we'll see your samples or your web page and all at once the laughter will stop, and our jaws will drop, and then somebody will say, "Whoa." And then I'll look a them and I'll say, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" And then someone will yell, "I'm way ahead of you buddy!" as they pull up in the company bus/monster truck and as we all pile in, somebody shouts out, "LOCK AND LOAD!" And we drive full speed to your house and you come out and say "D-D-D-Double Fine? But--" and we put a finger to your lips and say, "You had us at hello!" And then your parents try to stop us because they don't understand, so we duct tape them to a streetlight and peel out, popping a wheelie all the way down the street while "Sweet Home Alabama" blares out of the radio and then you and I try to say something at the same time because we're both so excited, so then we both shut up so that the other can talk, and then we both say, "No, you go!", but then we both start talking again at the same time, and we have to just laugh until we're crying tears of joy, and we sense in our hearts that we will all be best friends forever and ever, and never think about what or who we were before. We will just enjoy the ever-unfolding kaleidoscope of happiness and discovery and adventure and laughter that lie before us.

And then we pull up to the office and I yell, "Alright, back to work suckers. And no talking!" And weld the door shut with everyone inside as I laugh and laugh and laugh. Oh, the fun.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 19:10 (twenty years ago)

yeah psychonauts is the next game I'm going to get. What do you mean by 'platformness' Andrew?

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 19:13 (twenty years ago)

You know, jumping around, hitting things. Like Mario 64 or Crash Bandicoot or whatever. I like the old lucas arts style adventure games better too, but since it looks like those might be basically dead, it was really nice to see so much plot and dialogue wedged into a platformer. All the levels were so different from each other that it never once felt repetitive to me.

Dan I., Wednesday, 25 May 2005 19:57 (twenty years ago)

I didn't play FM4, but my memory of every Front Mission game I tried is one of pure tedium. They LOOK fucking wicked, but they always end up as total abortions. Metal Slug is always awesome though, I probably pumped more quarters into Metal Slug 2 arcade than any other game ever.

I'm still busying myself with WoW (I'm on the same server as Dan Perry, but he plays horde and I'm alliance. brothers torn apart by the tides of war~~~ ;_;!!!!!!) and, uh, I'm playing Final Fantasy VII, bcz I never beat it. I just bred a gold chocobo. :[[[[[

That's Awesome.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 21:00 (twenty years ago)

I also like the hitting things and jumping, but my friend who loves the LucasArts games doesn't deal with all this reaction shit (which is partly why she didn't like the last Broken Throne as much as me).

The Gold Chocobo in FFVII is definitely "you're clearly not playing this game for fun, so here's something that will let you win every battle from here on."

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 21:04 (twenty years ago)

PSYCHONAUTS IS 100000000 PERCENT PURE AWESOME

adam (adam), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 21:05 (twenty years ago)

Actually, the Art Design and the Art DIRECTION, i should specify.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0395252/

Plus, the main character is voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz, who also did Invader Zim.

The Gamer's Manifesto posted on pointless waste of time is a forehead-slapper to anybody over 16, I would think, but it got me thinking that Sony + MSFT haven't REALIZED ANY OF THIS, which is more than a little depressing.

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 25 May 2005 23:31 (twenty years ago)

Shall we have a thread for the next generation of consoles?

Come anticipate the Next-Gen Game Consoles with me!

TOMBOT, Wednesday, 25 May 2005 23:37 (twenty years ago)

the game store was out of psychonauts. :(

teeny (teeny), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 23:48 (twenty years ago)

booooooo

try it. you'll love the Lungfishopolis scene alone.

i don't want to spoil anything for anybody, but i'll just say two words: "Irish beat cop."

kingfish maximum overdrunk (Kingfish), Wednesday, 25 May 2005 23:52 (twenty years ago)

Lungfishopolis was pretty amazing. I woke my girlfriend up so she could see it and marvel.

adam (adam), Thursday, 26 May 2005 13:52 (twenty years ago)

Also the sound is flawless--makes me glad I hooked my Xbox up through the stereo.

adam (adam), Thursday, 26 May 2005 13:53 (twenty years ago)

game & watch.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 26 May 2005 14:39 (twenty years ago)

I want to be playing "maple story", "katamari DS", "advance wars DS" and "kirby DS" as well as "half-life 2, aftermath" and finishing the cute but difficult "advance wars" / "doukutso monogatari".

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 26 May 2005 14:58 (twenty years ago)

is anyone actually playing "snake eater"?

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 26 May 2005 15:11 (twenty years ago)

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 26 May 2005 15:12 (twenty years ago)

is there a good place to buy games cheap online? I want to support my local store and everything, but they're always out of shit!

teeny (teeny), Thursday, 26 May 2005 15:37 (twenty years ago)

check yahoo shopping. they link to several different sites.

also, megagamestore.com has cheap imports, usually.

also, check the used games at your local EB

kf, Thursday, 26 May 2005 16:21 (twenty years ago)

THIS GAME IS FUCKING AWESOME AND I BEAT IT TODAY AND THE MEAT CIRCUS LEVEL IS FUCKING HARD

http://playmagazine.com/index.php?fuseaction=SiteMain.showInterview&Game_Interview_ID=56&page=1

play: If anyone states they wish Psychonauts was laid out like GTA, do we have permission to schedule a lobotomy?

Schafer: But it is laid out just like GTA 3. You can totally drive around and kill hookers and steal money. Except for the hookers have all been replaced with squirrels, and instead of driving, you are rolling around on a psychic thought balloon, and instead of stealing money you’re digging up arrowheads. Oh, and I should probably mention that you can’t have sex with the squirrels. Gotta save something for the sequel, you know!

kingfish maximum overdrunk (Kingfish), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 01:12 (twenty years ago)

NO PSYCHONAUTS SPOILERS PLZ

I just beat the Gloria's Theatre level--least fave so far but the Napoleon dude looks promising. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this game. Laughing out loud at video games makes me feel like a total loser though.

adam (adam), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 02:43 (twenty years ago)

yeah, the theatre one is meh. the napolean one has some pretty innovative gameplay for a platformer.

still, it's all about Black Velvetopia.

the paranoid suburbs one had some fuckin' awesome design...

fun fact: Dwight Schultz, a.k.a Murdoch from the Ateam and whathisname from Star Trek: TNG does the voice of the british orderly.

kingfish maximum overdrunk (Kingfish), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 02:51 (twenty years ago)

Check also the used games at Gamefly.com!

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 1 June 2005 02:54 (twenty years ago)

does this count as video games? - I just bought a PSP and lumines has stolen my brain and will not give it back. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmboxes.

spontine (cis), Thursday, 2 June 2005 08:10 (twenty years ago)

it would be NICE if Kotor2 would stop CRASHING on my pc

kingfish maximum overdrunk (Kingfish), Thursday, 2 June 2005 13:56 (twenty years ago)

I downloaded a demo of Typing of the Dead due to a mention on another thread. It's so great, although the demo doesn't seem to have a 'quit' option. I'd imagine I could get the real game for pretty cheap these days?

I also downloaded (for the nth time in my life) the shareware version of Doom for some quick nostalgia, but gave up because of the keyboard configuration of my laptop. :(

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 June 2005 13:58 (twenty years ago)

i'm currently playing/beating 3 games:

1) Psychonauts. PLAY THIS GAME. IT'S THE BEST ONE OUT THIS YEAR. DO YOU LIKE INVADER ZIM OR PEE WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE? THEN PLAY THIS GAME.

2) Restricted Area: german sci-fi Diablo 2 action rpg thing. It's fun!

3) KOTOR 2: done by the Planescape: Torment guys, awesome characters, and IT WONT STOP FUCKING CRASHING.

kingfish maximum overdrunk (Kingfish), Sunday, 5 June 2005 05:18 (twenty years ago)

okay, i installed the latest ATI RADEON drivers. it only crashed once in two hours!

i will say this. star wars is improved IMMENSELY with the addition of kung fu.

kingfish maximum overdrunk (Kingfish), Sunday, 5 June 2005 08:53 (twenty years ago)

lego star wars
prince of persia: the sands of time
metal gear solid 3: the snake eater

teeth montrose (Cozen), Sunday, 5 June 2005 12:27 (twenty years ago)

Boiling Point a sort of cross between Deus Ex, Morrowind and GTA.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Sunday, 5 June 2005 12:45 (twenty years ago)

ok, anyone who has played mgs3 through, does it always feel like the camera puts you at an awkward disadvantage to the baddies considering how you now don't have a radar to use or do you get used to it as you learn how to work it?

teeth montrose (Cozen), Sunday, 5 June 2005 15:50 (twenty years ago)

also, prince of persia and lego star wars are both gems.

teeth montrose (Cozen), Sunday, 5 June 2005 15:52 (twenty years ago)

I can't see beyond Zangband anymore.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Sunday, 5 June 2005 15:54 (twenty years ago)

Two months in and nowhere near.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Sunday, 5 June 2005 15:55 (twenty years ago)

I actually stopped playing with my level 31 character 'cos I knew it'd hurt too much when she died.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Sunday, 5 June 2005 15:55 (twenty years ago)

have you played maple story, greg?

teeth montrose (Cozen), Sunday, 5 June 2005 16:02 (twenty years ago)

maple story

teeth montrose (Cozen), Sunday, 5 June 2005 16:03 (twenty years ago)

Downloading now!

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Sunday, 5 June 2005 16:10 (twenty years ago)

This is the article about Zangband that nearly ruined my degree, incidentally.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Sunday, 5 June 2005 16:12 (twenty years ago)

What world are you in, on MS?

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Sunday, 5 June 2005 16:13 (twenty years ago)

I am "on a mac" and so I can't play it : (

you should download doukutsu monogatari ("cave story") while you're at it.

teeth montrose (Cozen), Sunday, 5 June 2005 16:15 (twenty years ago)

I can't get cave story to work! I tried before, I get some stupid error.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Sunday, 5 June 2005 16:17 (twenty years ago)

the frequency in which KOTOR 2 crashes is fucking criminal. It did the same for the first game, and I dont know htf the developers didnt fix it. I tried fucking with my drivers like a thousand times and it still didnt work, but I shouldnt even have to go through that kinda shit in the first place..

Actor Sizemore fails drug test with fake penis (jingleberries), Sunday, 5 June 2005 18:57 (twenty years ago)

apparently, they're being held up from issuing another patch due to delays from Lucasarts...who wanted them to push the game out the door before they were ready in the first place.

kingfish maximum overdrunk (Kingfish), Sunday, 5 June 2005 21:51 (twenty years ago)

I am getting angry because I can't find my copies of "resident evil 4" / "pro evo 4" and I think my little brother has swapped them while I was in aberdeen.

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 9 June 2005 09:35 (twenty years ago)

BF2 demo fun, fun fun.

Jarlr'mai (jarlrmai), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 11:43 (twenty years ago)

ok, i'm playing KOTOR2 thru again, this time as an evil chick, dubbed "Sith Ann-Margret".

kingfish, Tuesday, 14 June 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

I was bored the other day and debated playing through KOTOR2 for the third time, trying to do a better job as a sith since I fucked up last time with my attempts at being everyones friend. Fuck em.

I also started playing Final Fantasy X-2 after my old game got scrapped. A game I invested like 40 hours in. Not sure if Im up to putting in another 40+ hours on that shit.

Actor Sizemore fails drug test with fake penis (jingleberries), Tuesday, 14 June 2005 21:13 (twenty years ago)

okay, to be up with the times, and 'cuz no one's playing MGS3 anymore,

let us continue here:
