my friend had to go dress shopping, so i entertained myself by trying on dresses too. this first dress looked so gaudy on the rack, like a las vegas dancer, but turned out to be so awesome while wearing it:

I'm not a big jazz expert - I was mostly joining my good friend and occasional ILXer Andrew L for this - and not very familiar with his work. I kind of expected something stranger (my only other jazz gig was Anthony Braxton and Cecil Taylor). Despite the odd backing line-up (quadruple bass! That is, two double basses, one bowed, one plucked, plus his son on drums) it seemed surprisingly conventional, kind of like late Coltrane, maybe. I really liked it. Dull but pleasant support from Andy Shepherd.

I thought I looked kind of lumpily shapeless there, but I always hate photos of myself. Thanks for the kind words. (I don't know why there are so few photos of me here - I'm as regular at FAPs as anyone, but generally when there are lots of photos taken, I seem to be omitted from all of them, or the back of my head gets in the corner of one. I guess if I were a cute young person I'd be more inclined to point my camera at cute young people, so fair enough.)(And I don't have a camera myself.)

Greg. second left girl is going out with the guy beside her, my co-worker Aidan, who just started working in the record store with me about 2 months ago. he's also started DJing at our club night so he's in the gang, I guess. he likes italo alot.
