Actress Kelly Lynch first got my attention as a stone cold junkie in the 1989 film “Drugstore Cowboy.” Now she’s playing the mother of a teenage jock with a very serious problem in the cautionary TV drama “Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life” (8 p.m., Lifetime). Teenage swimming champ Justin Petersen (Jeremy Sumpter) has it all. He’s going to the state finals and is on track to get a huge scholarship. He’s got a sweet girlfriend, Amy (Lyndsy Fonseca), who’d be ever sweeter, thinks Justin, if she wasn’t so hung up on church and abstinence.

But Justin soon has other problems. While attending a party with a rougher crowd than he’s used to, he is exposed to Internet pornography. But while the other guys seem to take this rough material in stride, Justin develops and all-consuming interest. His mother, Diane (Lynch), notices, and demands that her husband have a talk with him. But Justin’s dad sees this as a normal rite of passage and even recalls the hidden Playboys of his youth.

Since this is a pretty predictable and didactic film, we soon learn that Dad’s boys-will-be-boys approach is outmoded. Internet porn is a pervasive multibillion-dollar industry designed to entice and seduce, and it’s all just a keystroke away. What we never learn here is just why Justin goes bonkers over the smut while his friends remain so blase. In quick succession, he loses interest in school, family, his sweetheart, the swim team and life itself.

Internet pornography may just be a 21st-century plague, but “Cyber Seduction” proves that the formula for movies like this really hasn’t changed much since “Reefer Madness.”

Oh my lord, made-for-tv is just about my favourite movie ummm genre? The biographies are always great, the disease movies always suck. My top three mftvm would be:

1. The Tori Spelling movie Jody mentioned above which i believe is called 'Co-ed Callgirl'
2. The Holly Hunter masterpiece 'The Positively True Adventures of the Alleged Texas Cheerleader-Murdering Mom'.
3.'Death of a Cheerleader', also starring Tori Spelling.

Seriously, if there are people getting murdered so someone can make the cheer squad and/or teen hookers and/or drugs and/or tori spelling, you know its gonna be good.

A friend who shares my love for these movies has a thing for the sub-genre i call 'Overcoming Adversity Through Dance'. You know, kid from wrong side of the tracks dances despite social misfortune culminating in a successful student performance in front of parents and haterz where you know everyone will be ok because that dance routine kicked ass. Dancing kind of bores me though.

how many times has lynda carter played the mother of a teen struggling with anorexia for a lifetime tv movie? 4? 5?

All you mentioned are great films. Kelly Martin gave us an especially great performance in DEATH OF A CHEERLEADER. Hands down though, the best tv movie ever, is 'FRIENDS TIL THE END,' the one where Shannen Doherty is in a BAND and almost has her identity stolen by a crazy girl. The end scene involves said crazy girl ROCKING BACK AND FORTH and crying after going completely CRAZY during a ROCKIN PERFORMANCE!

No way, the bulimia one with meredith baxter birney eating cookies out of the supermarket dumpster is classic!

Are we all in agreement that the most horrifying t.v. movie to this day is the wife-battering one with jo from facts of life? the ending of that movie terrified me. some of those arty japanese and french directors who fancy themselves so transgressive and shocking should watch that sometime. It's one of the saddest movies i've ever seen.

I haven't seen either of those! I agree that the anorexia/bulimia ones aren't bad though, not at all. The one where the two friends are bulimic together and ONE DIES is pretty good. Or the one where Tracey Gold hides cereal under her bed.

"Let me say that there are very few times when you should burn porn onto a CD. If you are, say, getting a new computer and you have a lot of videos or if you have something particularly memorable like if the man makes that Tim Allen grunting noise for all ten minutes (yes, I have it) then there might be some reason to make that CD.

OMG I SAW A LIFETIME MOVIE CALLED "SHE'S TOO YOUNG". It is about 14 year old girls getting syphilis from blowjobs! Anyway highlights:

- girls puking from wine coolers!
- artsy nice guy student who has abasement filled with amazing prints of candid photos turns out to be doing them... with a camera phone
- dude trying to rape protagonist stopped by nerdy friend coming in and taking acamera phone photo... in the dark ... of the sexual assault.

[paraphrasing] "You touch her again and this picture is getting emailed to 911"

Also, then he dials the digits and hovers over the "send" button before the attacker backs down from beating the snot out of him.
