ilx should thank their lucky stars that we're still putting on threads of this caliber after so many years

hello!

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:24 (eighteen years ago)

This thread's been going downhill since season 3!

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:24 (eighteen years ago)

Hahah Jim is otm, we've sort of used this subject line before.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:25 (eighteen years ago)

It's a reference to the past!

Don't you guys see that?

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:26 (eighteen years ago)

there are only so many ways one can say "mongrels and sheepfuXors" again and again, yes?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:26 (eighteen years ago)

Also, I don't have any original thoughts.

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Thursday, 16 November 2006 04:27 (eighteen years ago)

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah I dont think shit will go down til tomorrow, and even then I've a feeling this year things wont be a big hassle like they were at the now-rather-humourourly-named S11 forum protests.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:02 (eighteen years ago)

That's because THE MAN has made a stunning opening move and eliminated the VEGETARIAN COMMUNIST PROTESTORS last night thanks to poison lentils.

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:02 (eighteen years ago)

Then again what would I know. The thing I think is kind of weird about the globalization protests is, I dont think they are getting any kind of message across. If you asked most people "what is g20 and do you know why people protest it so vigourously?" most average joes would say "no idea, bunch of feral loser commies tho!"

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:03 (eighteen years ago)

I wonder if there's anyone left to sell Green Left Weekly this week!

To be fair to them, not all of them are feral vegan anarchist types HELL BELT ON DESTRUCTION but that's how tha media portrays them so booyah.

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

Well, precisely.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 00:25 (eighteen years ago)

Man it's a lovely day.

Still unemployed, but got heaps of stuff done this morning and there are some promising murmurings from the job sector.

Mike Stuchbery (Mike Stuchbery), Friday, 17 November 2006 01:51 (eighteen years ago)

Nick wants to buy a HD telly tomorrow. We were just going to go to Dick Smiths or JB or somewhere - despite the fact Ive pointed out that Good Guys in brighton are having a massive floorstock clearance sale - but then again we cant get there that easily.

But man it will rule having an LCD HD teevee!

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 02:11 (eighteen years ago)

it will be cheaper to take a taxi to good guys

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 02:14 (eighteen years ago)

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:54 (eighteen years ago)

If I ate boiled eggs and they tasted final, and I feel sick now, were they out of date? I can sort of sense an off-gg smell on my breath.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:54 (eighteen years ago)

you ate the final egg and now your breath smells like gg? oh dear

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:55 (eighteen years ago)

tidy your room, write thoughtful cards to your loved ones, lie down quietly under a warm blanket, and wait.

estela (estela), Friday, 17 November 2006 04:58 (eighteen years ago)

Actually, I was sick this morning too, but now I smell OFF EGGS. I don't know if they were bad or not because they are actual real farm eggs not from a carton.

BOO. Why did I eat eggs when I was a bit off? STUPID. Ah, that's why, I didn't want to walk to teh shops.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:01 (eighteen years ago)

if there are any (raw ones) left, drop them into cold water and see if they sink or float. floating means they are off. i usually test eggs before i cook them, it's one of my foibles.

estela (estela), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:03 (eighteen years ago)

None left, damn it.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:04 (eighteen years ago)

eggs are eaten too quickly in my household so they never get the chance to smell like gg

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:05 (eighteen years ago)

Normally I eat them quickly too but my good egg saucepan that's perfect for them died recently. A small hole appeared in the bottom of it - this was an amusing discovery as I left the room to find the stove not working, and kept moving to another burner, until they were all fucked - only then did I notice the whole.

As such I've had eggs seldom lately.

I am going to check the remaining egg(s) if there are any.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:09 (eighteen years ago)

It sank!

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:12 (eighteen years ago)

that's a good thing

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:12 (eighteen years ago)

if you're an egg

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:13 (eighteen years ago)

it's a pity you didn't eat that one instead.

estela (estela), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:19 (eighteen years ago)

Heh.

What does something taste of if it tastes "final" anyway?

Does it taste like burning?

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:29 (eighteen years ago)

it tastes like your last supper

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Friday, 17 November 2006 05:30 (eighteen years ago)

"this tastes like the final thing i will ever consume"

good grief I am pissed.

the realness of Colonel Sanders (H2-H4), Friday, 17 November 2006 12:18 (eighteen years ago)

maybe getting pissed is the approach you should take to preparing for the group interview!

gem (trisk), Friday, 17 November 2006 13:29 (eighteen years ago)

i fronted up to an interview extremely pissed once and i got the job! mind you it was in an irish pub in germany so it was probably on the selection criteria.

gem (trisk), Friday, 17 November 2006 13:34 (eighteen years ago)

I wonder if there's a German pub in Ireland?

I smell a business opportunity and it smells like bratwurst!

mmmm bratwurst. the irish bloody love their sausages. and their beer. you could well be onto something estie!

the gangsta Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (H2-H4), Monday, 20 November 2006 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE.

We just buyed an HD LCD telly. OH MAN. It looks secksy.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 20 November 2006 00:56 (eighteen years ago)

I really have got to stop typing like that. Goddamn ILG.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 20 November 2006 00:56 (eighteen years ago)

rad! do youse have an xbox 3708390873837 to use it with?

the gangsta Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (H2-H4), Monday, 20 November 2006 01:02 (eighteen years ago)

Thats why we bought the teevee! If you play games like Dead Rising on a regular telly you cant read any of the damn text, because they optimised the game for PC monitor/HD tv quality. We since found a whole bunch of other games did the same (eg Oblivion).

The difference playing in 60+cm widescreen HD is PHENOMENAL.

The only small annoyance is now regular tv looks like shit, cause it has to display in 4:3 which means it sits in a crappy box in the middle of the screen. So it flicks back and forth from widescreen to not, even from one ad to the next. Get yer act together, TV stations!

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 20 November 2006 01:11 (eighteen years ago)

even on HD??? god local TV stations are fucking idiots.

the gangsta Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (H2-H4), Monday, 20 November 2006 01:14 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah the TV being HD means fuckall. Its all about the reciever (and this tv is HDMI capable, but its reciever's still analogue I think). Our hard disk PVR thing is digital, but even then, only about 1/3 to 1/2 the shows and ads are in widescreen. And fuck all shows are in actual Widescreen HD apart from like, the news and the occasional recent movie I think.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 20 November 2006 01:17 (eighteen years ago)

All that said tho, for movies and games and anything that is widescreen, it is so worth it. We got a Samsung - was about $1300.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 20 November 2006 01:18 (eighteen years ago)

god that's cheap I thought HD was still much bigger buck$.

I have the day off. waht to do??

the gangsta Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (H2-H4), Monday, 20 November 2006 01:19 (eighteen years ago)

hahaha the RMIT students' show on triple R is currently talking about 'new rave'. and they are struggling!

the gangsta Yankee Hotel Foxtrot (H2-H4), Monday, 20 November 2006 01:34 (eighteen years ago)

I thought buying HDTV wasn't supposed to impress women?!?

Oh, and I fucking loathe how the local stations can't get their act together on anything digital.

wordy rappaport (EstieButtez1), Monday, 20 November 2006 01:51 (eighteen years ago)

Yes but I'm a geekgrrl. I am always impressed by geektoys.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 20 November 2006 02:15 (eighteen years ago)

Digital's a capitalist scam and you are all suckers! The only improvement TV needs is more powerful Ch31 broadcasts!

hahaha the RMIT students' show on triple R is currently talking about 'new rave' anything. and they are struggling!

Well except for Mikey. Who will now hit me.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 4 January 2007 00:12 (eighteen years ago)

football really is the only other popular sport i can think of that approaches the complexity of cricket. especially hilarious is the the fact that downs really can come down to actual inches.

there is hitting, though

gbx (skowly), Thursday, 4 January 2007 00:16 (eighteen years ago)

Your football looks like people randomly running around in a panic, while a ball escapes.

Then again that descibes AFL as well.

Hah, I went away from my computer, truly shocking.

In boxes of Assorted Creams, which is what is available, it goes like this:

1. Monte Carlo
2. Shortbread Cream
3. Delta Cream
4. Kingston
5. Orange Slice

Other biscuits that rate very highly for me: Caramel Crowns and Cherry Slice (like a Mint Slice but with CHERRY. Mindblowing!), Caramel Tim-Tams, Raspberry Tartlets, Chocolate Ripple, Ginger Nut (the Qld version, not the Vic version) and if I'm in the mood, Butternut Cookie.

(my dad works for arnott's, but this is not a plug)

I have Buffalo Stance stuck in my head.

That happened to me once! I was just about to miss my flight home from Barcelona after three long days at Sonar, I was 'exhausted' and the song just popped into my head after lying dormant for several years.

Any love for tiny teddies?

badg (badg), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 05:37 (eighteen years ago)

hi trayce!
i am for the tiny teddy.
i am also for:
toffee pops;
nice biscuits (a specific biscuit by arnotts, not a vague category);
tim tams;
meal mates (fuxxor crackers with poppy and sesame seeds that criminally aren't sold here);
everything else, including communion wafers and ship's biscuits (sans weevils).
i would eat cookies with pink decorations on them as a last resort, but would still eat them.
i am a bit down on the water cracker also, but would also eat, have in fact recently enjoyed some with a nice bit of cheese and whatnot.

estela (estela), Tuesday, 9 January 2007 06:25 (eighteen years ago)

Venetians! Oh man, I forgot about them. They are divine, yes. I believe that Cherry 2000 should do a song about Cherry Slice as a creative, delicious way of selling out.

Wordy up. Busy week. I have to buy some dark trousers for job interviews. I'm sure I had two pairs but damned if I know where they are (Brisbane, probably). And maybe a nice shirt that will yell "HIREABLE!". And now I have one (1) credit history, I am going to get a new phone contract - what's the cheapest a mong can get these days?

I are trying to get onto the NSW Department of Education and Training but the internet here blocks it. What's funny is that I am at a university, and of all the things to block...

Estela, pink decorations are not good? Does this mean you do not enjoy Iced Vovos? Surely everyone likes that, gnawing the icing off like a human rat, and then dunking biscuit in tea?

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 00:55 (eighteen years ago)

yeah Trayce, Lib had megaspaz when I said "THIS Trayce?" after she sent around I Has A Bucket. had previously had slightly lesser megaspaz when she saw list of LJs I read: "OMG how do you know Oz he is one of my friends from P3rth you are freaking me out man!!!" I was all like "uh dude he lived in Sydney for a year or two (and anyway he's on there because I find his blog funny, not just because we've urinated in proximity)" &c. I bought jaffa cakes for the first time ever a few months ago cos English people were coming to stay and they were horrible.

TARGET BISCUIT LIST:
1. Monte Carlo
2. Chocoalte Monte
3. Black Forest Tim Tam
4. those rectangular Oreo finger things
5. Shortbread Cream
6. Scotch Finger
7. white chocolate macadamia cookie form Subway before they changed the recipe
8. the chocolate one in the assorted creams
9. etc etc

The Cherry Slice sadly tastes like slightly red chemicals, not like cherry. This is a bummer. Mint Slice beats it and it shouldn't. Plain Jatz rule the cracker world, that bogus version that melts in yr mouth is clever but can't support a decent cheese/olive/gherkin infrastructure.

I haven't seen Iced Vovos in a decade or more :(

occasional cakegrel (kit brash), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 01:34 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think that Chocolate Montes are as good as they used to be. Something's wrong with them these days, they have made a subtle change. Oh, and what about Chocolate Royales, aka the biscuit formerly known as Choc Mallow Puff? They are good.

Of course the cherry slice tastes like slightly red chemicals. Nothing resembling a real cherry is in it, surely. But red food colouring is my favouritest food EVAH.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 01:40 (eighteen years ago)

gnawing? human rat? dunking? in tea?

I propose a list, of things that you used to enjoy that are now not very good because of subtle changes to the recipe over the years.

1. Schweppes' Lemonade (tastes a bit metallic to me now)

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 02:08 (eighteen years ago)

2. Schweppes' Ye Olde Pink Lemonade (changed the formula and now it's far too tart)

SAVE IT FOR THE CAKE LIST YOU CRAZY BROAD (patog27), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 02:14 (eighteen years ago)

3. Barbeque Shapes (NOT ENOUGH FUCKING RED STUFF)

SAVE IT FOR THE CAKE LIST YOU CRAZY BROAD (patog27), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 02:15 (eighteen years ago)

4. Blue Ribbon Chocolate ice cream. This might just be because all I seem to be able to find at ver shops is "double chocolate" and it's NOT AS GOOD.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 02:16 (eighteen years ago)

won't someone give esteban more artificial food colouring, he seems a bit subdued and could do with a chemical rark-up.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 02:31 (eighteen years ago)

5. All the Halls soft drinks now that great South Australian soft drink company is long gone and all their stuff is made by Kirks which is nothing more than "Queensland shit". Especially Fruita, which now tastes like vomit, and Sno-Top which tastes too sugary and sweet.

I can't drink Woodroofes Sno-Top because that is always TOO FUCKING DRY (unless you have it with fish and chips, where it seems to be the perfect refreshment to go with yer greasy chips in chicken salt). Thank heavens for Schweppes' Brown Creaming Soda which as good as Sno-Top in its heyday and almost as good as the long lost Lloyd's Creaming Soda.

badg (badg), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 03:02 (eighteen years ago)

There was this great creaming soda drink that used to get delivered door to door to my grandmother called N.E.Thing, the joke being "What will you have to drink", or something. I would KILL to have it again. I imagine Esteban's Lloyd's is a similar thing.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 03:16 (eighteen years ago)

Yep, Lloyd's was local version of the "door-to-door soft drink delivered to grandma". Quoth my silly old grandma, the creaming soda tasted like whisky, lime and soda. I dunno about that but it was ace.

SAVE IT FOR THE CAKE LIST YOU CRAZY BROAD (patog27), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 06:00 (eighteen years ago)

Cherry Slices would be better if they tasted like VERY red food colouring! But it just comes off pissweak and a let-down. SORRY FOLKS.

ambiguous nature of this sentence
ha ha!
yes, I was kinda startled and scared at how long you've know her too. I think she's planning to come on a southern visit soon though, give her a hug from me.

Tim Tams are my biggest "not as good as they used to be" bugbear. I dunno if it got worse when they turned American but the creamy chemicals in the middle used to be softer and have a more distinctive flavour.

Are there any good creaming sodas still on the market?

SAVE IT FOR THE CAKE LIST YOU CRAZY BROAD (patog27), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 06:18 (eighteen years ago)

SAVE IT FOR THE CAKE LIST YOU CRAZY BROAD (patog27), Wednesday, 10 January 2007 06:19 (eighteen years ago)

I love creaming soda, its the only sweet drink I really do like. Whats better: brown or red?

How much is it?

Is it being sold privately?

What model is it exactly?

Chryslers aren't really my cup of tea, but at least it's not a Valiant.

What kind of motor does it have in it?

Any rust in the body? Looks quite nice in the photos.

SAVE IT FOR THE CAKE LIST YOU CRAZY BROAD (patog27), Monday, 15 January 2007 04:05 (eighteen years ago)

Mot a Valiant. a Chrysler by Chrysler cf: Premier vs. Kingswood, Statesman vs. Commodore, Fairmont vs. Falcon.

S- (sgh), Monday, 15 January 2007 04:06 (eighteen years ago)

Just spoke to my Dad, the man who can tell what motor a car has by sound alone. Owns a couple of Chevs, yada yada yada.

He says $5,250 is a bit steep for that model, but if you could knock them down, starting at $4,800 you might be doing ok depending on the condition of the car, which I told him looked pretty decent.

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Monday, 15 January 2007 04:11 (eighteen years ago)

Thanks Kate. I know it's a little steep, but I haven't seen any car this old in such good nick. The little spotlight on the pillars in the back work, the indicator repeaters on the top of the chrome work on either side of the bonnet work, etc. No rust (a few small bubbles under the vinyl at the bottom of the rear window).

Also, it's an auction, and they've already got a bid for $5,250...

S- (sgh), Monday, 15 January 2007 04:16 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, I thought that bid might've been you.

I knew it was on ebay, but my sister and husband recently bought a car off ebay and managed to talk the seller down $1000 bucks off the listed price. I see now that that bid not being you makes that a little unlikely.

If you really like it, go for it. I read the write up in it's entirety (just scanned it before) and it sounds pretty awesome, so either they're good bull shit artists or that is one hell of a car for it's age.

Also - mugged, wtf? What happened?

Trayce (trayce), Sunday, 21 January 2007 01:20 (eighteen years ago)

I was at North Wollongong train station, coming home from Sydney carrying an awkward but not heavy box. The exit to the station was surrounded but not blocked by a group of CRAZY YOUNG PEOPLE who were yelling and swearing and kicking the ticket machine (I'm with them on that score), and I thought to myself that I would just walk to the exit and ignore what was going on.

So I walk to the exit and start going down the ramp and one of the peeps I walked past then ran, overtook me and stood in front of me. He put his hand on my front pocket where he assumed I had my wallet (was actually my mp3 player) and said "How much have you got in there?", and then he put his other hand in his pocket.

Fortunately, the cab I called pulled up 5 metres away, saw what was going on and beeped. I took the guy's hand off my pocket and said "Nothing for you" and got in the cab. It wasn't the suavest escape. A few friends of mine have been mugged or nearly so recently, but it wasn't actually until it was over that I realised that I had nearly been mugged.

edward o (edwardo), Sunday, 21 January 2007 23:39 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think you look sick! Just quite thin! Come on, I give Nick the same shit and he swears he isnt losing weight. Even though he looks like he just escaped from Belsen.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 22 January 2007 00:37 (eighteen years ago)

Rental property market in Sydney be fucking shit.

In related news, the sun rises from the east.

King Boy Pato (patog27), Monday, 22 January 2007 00:39 (eighteen years ago)

It's almost as if they don't want people moving into their stupid overcrowded city. I've found a not too awful place not too far from town for a not too awful price so hurrah for that.

edward o (edwardo), Monday, 22 January 2007 00:52 (eighteen years ago)

Goddamit I can't believe my first excelsior was me quoting the young ones, I thought it would have been obvious

badg (badg), Monday, 22 January 2007 01:39 (eighteen years ago)

Its one of my fave bits too!

"the old trick eh? EAT the telly, before I get a chance to NICK ya!"

"....its a toaster!"
"Its a TELLY you YOBBO! GIVE IT BACK I WANNA NICK YER"

Man. I typed that from memory.

Trayce (trayce), Monday, 22 January 2007 03:14 (eighteen years ago)

haha i used to be able to recite more than half of the first episode from memory. "there's some dinner on the floor if you want it..."

jimbo (electricsound), Monday, 22 January 2007 03:16 (eighteen years ago)

Every time I see risotto on a menu I think of Neil serving up plates of snow. It was pretty funny just reading through the script (from here: http://www.ulrikchristensen.dk/scripts/youngones/bomb.htm). I also liked this exchange:

BASTARD: Bastard's the name! [shakes Mike's hand] But you can call me right bleeding, all my friends do, or did.

MIKE: What do you mean?

BASTARD: I killed him. Where's your license?

badg (badg), Monday, 22 January 2007 03:29 (eighteen years ago)

The one me and Nick do ALL THE TIME: if one of us is going 'blah blah blah' and ends sentence with "you know me" we then always segue into:

BALOWSKI: You know me
MIKE: Oh yeah.
BALOWSKI: Who am I?
MIKE: You're you!
BALOWSKI: That's right. You wanna make something of it?
MIKE: I don't, but if you want a fight, Neil's in the lounge.
BALOWSKI: You threatening me?
MIKE: You looking for teeth in a basket?
BALOWSKI: Yeah.
MIKE: Well, there you are!

Sometimes it just degenerates into "you know me" "yea you're you" "wanna make somethin of it" "yeah teeth, basket, etc" if we're tired.

jimbo (electricsound), Monday, 22 January 2007 03:36 (eighteen years ago)

I've been watching Outrageous Fortune as well. It's great!

Sadly missed the first couple of eps of this season of Shameless, so I'll probably download the whole series at a later date.

Monday nights are great again, totally easy to not move from the couch between 7:30 and 1:30. (Anyone been watching the Wire?)

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 23 January 2007 23:50 (eighteen years ago)

why makeup? are you aksing for a pay raise?

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 23 January 2007 23:51 (eighteen years ago)

That's ok, its only a re-run of "Bird on a Wire" or some shit.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 23 January 2007 23:51 (eighteen years ago)

Nah, I just got up this morning and felt ugly :( And I'm sick of feeling like a sack of potatoes, so I thought I'd make an effort, like.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 00:15 (eighteen years ago)

treadmills whisper mean things about you, covering them in dirty clothes doesn't work, you can still hear their reproaches.

Its like the terminator.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 00:25 (eighteen years ago)

they are evil roads to nowhere.

estela (estela), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

Dammit, now every time I get on a treadmill I'll have that awful Talking Heads song stuck in my brain.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 00:31 (eighteen years ago)

you will end up walking either very slowly or incredibly fast to accommodate it.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 01:00 (eighteen years ago)

the thing i don't understand about jagger is that he seems to have no concept whatsoever of how he comes across in his posts. he was a welcome addition to my killfile.

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 01:06 (eighteen years ago)

I feel a little bad at how nasty a lot of people are being to him, but then he says something bafflingly daft and I kind of lose sypmathy :/ Like, Ally called him a "little martyr virgin" and he was all "OMG WTF HOW DARE YOU", but hello? He's the one crappin on about popping his cherry when no one wants to know HELLO TMI EW.

That said, I'm fucking sick of people saying "ew you're a creepy stalker weirdo" about some other posters.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 01:11 (eighteen years ago)

he is like how I would've been on the internets at 16. ftrying to be so clever-clever and wordy, just ending up too clever for own good.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 01:12 (eighteen years ago)

Hello Mongs from SYDNEY AIRPORT before I fly to a country where you can fly da flag with FREEDOM.

I didn't see Chas' patrotic display yesterday but I have seen the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and Nicole Kidman's Garbage Bin.

The verdict? Nicole's bin is down to earth, not what you'd expect from them typical Hollywood bins.

King Boy Pato (patog27), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 01:42 (eighteen years ago)

I find the whole "we" aspects of calling him a creep objectionable. If someone wants to say I find you creepy, fine. Saying "we" reeks of high school social dynamics. Plus creepy may be a bit harsh, classic public school twit is probably closer to the truth. In the english public school sense.

badg (badg), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 01:45 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah badg, the "we" galled me as well, I wanted to say "who's this we?" but I always come into these threads about six bajillion posts after one I want to comment on ;_;

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 01:47 (eighteen years ago)

we the creeple...

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 01:48 (eighteen years ago)

Boy does the Harbour Bridge suck. You can't see a fucking thing while driving over it. Although you may be interested to know that CityLink eTags work in Sydney as well.

Looks like I'm going to be there on the week ending Feb 16/17th

S- (sgh), Wednesday, 24 January 2007 01:48 (eighteen years ago)

King Boy Pato (patog27), Thursday, 25 January 2007 19:30 (eighteen years ago)

i don't know which is worse. it's 5am and 25 degrees in perth. can't sleep too hot.

tis gonna be -4 tomorrow and i have to go into the city for australia day pissup

King Boy Pato (patog27), Thursday, 25 January 2007 20:50 (eighteen years ago)

you won't notice it once you're drunk? i am going to see neko case tonight, who is probably my most favourite singer, and it will be about 40 degrees outside. so probably 50 degrees inside the hangar where she's playing. not happy.

gem (trisk), Thursday, 25 January 2007 21:01 (eighteen years ago)

Whoa, people will be passing out!

Pretty stinking hot here too. I think I will spend the day in the studio where it is cooled by a rather large air conditioner.

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Thursday, 25 January 2007 21:05 (eighteen years ago)

days like these i would kill for an airconditioner. my place is two storey - it's usually pretty good but after a few hot days on the trot the upstairs gets like an oven. reckon i might sleep down here on the couch tonight.

people will be passing out worse at the skyshow thing they always have here on oz day. several hundred thousand people head to the river foreshore, and heaps of them go at lunchtime so as to stake out a good spot. can you imagine drinking beer in scorching sun for 12 hours. yuk.

gem (trisk), Thursday, 25 January 2007 21:10 (eighteen years ago)

It's a mild, cloudy wasted day over here. Huzzah to that. One houes I looked at yesterday was bloody GRATE, I want it. Gigantic room, amazing location, gas stove, barbecue, not too dear, kind of cool housemate already there... lots of people have been looking but I have a chance because the two items the kitchen no longer has with people moving out are a microwave and a kettle, and I have those things!

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 26 January 2007 00:11 (eighteen years ago)

Why o why did I decide to make roast chicken and veges tonight for my dinner guests? I think I might substitute the roast veges for a salad.

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Friday, 26 January 2007 01:08 (eighteen years ago)

I just went out to dinner in -5 degree or something weather! Faaaaark.

i read an article on smh.com.au today about sydneysiders offering $40 a week extra for rental properties. bit scary? in perth people are offering $60-100 more!! where will everyone live...

what are you tattooing onto yourself jim?

gem (trisk), Monday, 29 January 2007 09:53 (eighteen years ago)

fac 47

jimbo (electricsound), Monday, 29 January 2007 09:55 (eighteen years ago)

nice. on your arm?

gem (trisk), Monday, 29 January 2007 09:57 (eighteen years ago)

yep, on my forearm

jimbo (electricsound), Monday, 29 January 2007 09:59 (eighteen years ago)

Bout time, how long have you been talking about that for? :)

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:18 (eighteen years ago)

gosh 4 or 5 years now!

jimbo (electricsound), Monday, 29 January 2007 10:25 (eighteen years ago)

i guess it's good to think it over for a fair while. pretty hard to get rid of once you have it. but such a cool thing if it is something you love.

gem (trisk), Monday, 29 January 2007 12:13 (eighteen years ago)

you can get saville fonts for free from his website. so badass.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Monday, 29 January 2007 12:50 (eighteen years ago)

i like the blue monday one. for some reason i thought he was dead. apparently not.

gem (trisk), Monday, 29 January 2007 12:54 (eighteen years ago)

I just saw Dave Hughes buying postcards at the newsagents downstairs. He looked like a complete mess.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:03 (eighteen years ago)

so he looked like usual then

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:12 (eighteen years ago)

maybe he's pretending to be on holiday!

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:12 (eighteen years ago)

dudes you all should see my totally awesome revolting shirts I bought last week. three of them!

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:16 (eighteen years ago)

tie dye?

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:16 (eighteen years ago)

one paisley-ish, one white w/ multicoloured chexxx, and the third... actually I can't really describe it, vaguely looks like a bad trip involving lots of purple and circular targets.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:19 (eighteen years ago)

where will you be wearing such things?

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:20 (eighteen years ago)

i wore the third to work last week. peeps were lovin' it.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:21 (eighteen years ago)

Hahah haitch I loved your "shut up" on ILM to bimble. WTF is with that guy, is he on something?

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:22 (eighteen years ago)

he's louis in 20 sex-free years time

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:22 (eighteen years ago)

he is the zen master of conversing with himself. it's as if inner dialogue doesn't exist.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:24 (eighteen years ago)

I blame anglophilia. it has broken many a man.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:24 (eighteen years ago)

haha

who knew my countless US 45s would save me from such things

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:29 (eighteen years ago)

I mean I'm all for getting a clit-on over old Cocteaux videos on youtube, but that guy makes John Dahlem look sane.

I wonder what ever happened to that guy.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:29 (eighteen years ago)

he's probably a music writer now

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:30 (eighteen years ago)

ahahah.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:33 (eighteen years ago)

I was going to xclsr that but I am not opening myself up to riducle for having said said "clit-on".

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:34 (eighteen years ago)

I blame anglophilia. it has broken many a man.

...of course i say this with a ticket waiting at the corner for hot chip tonight w/ my name on it

CONTRADICTION (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:40 (eighteen years ago)

haha

who is supporting? is it MUSCLES?

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:46 (eighteen years ago)

I R going to see !!! in march, anyone else gonna come with me ya barstools?

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:51 (eighteen years ago)

yes who IS this muscles, i am seeing the name everywhere now!

trayce i'm going to golden plains where they will be playing.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:52 (eighteen years ago)

Eff that I'm seeing them at the POW, no smelly hippies for me.

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:53 (eighteen years ago)

but so many good bands all at once!! ;_____;

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:54 (eighteen years ago)

i've never been much of a fan tbh. i've become quite the grump about touring bands lately though. i'm even thinking twice about seeing vashti because i can't bear having to deal with another hipster crowd. it would be nice if i could get over it

xpost muscles started his career as a mess and noise troll. he even posted on ilm a couple of times as idleidle. he has one very good song (one inch badge pin) and quite a bit of reasonably decent other stuff. when i saw him it was kinda elton john-ish but it's mostly dancy

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:54 (eighteen years ago)

oh he's THAT guy, i remember him trolling here!!

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:56 (eighteen years ago)

he's a nice dude in person. he has a fairly idiosyncratic voice, particularly for the music he plays. i imagine his electronic show will be entertaining.

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:57 (eighteen years ago)

maybe we can all parlay our ILX personae into profitable and long-lasting careers!!

trayce i should do you a "tape" of maurice fulton stuff. he mixed the first !!! record and kinda made them good, i think.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 03:58 (eighteen years ago)

dudes you all should see my totally awesome revolting shirts I bought last week. three of them!

-- slackety yax (benny.hil...), January 30th, 2007 2:16 PM. (later)

ah-ha, we saw those on the line on Australia day and were all 'wtf'

S- (sgh), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 04:00 (eighteen years ago)

Sounds inneresting yah. xpost

Trayce (trayce), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 04:00 (eighteen years ago)

wow hot chip!! dudes were tight.

I was about double the age of 90% of the crowd, tho.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 13:42 (eighteen years ago)

you're nearly 80??

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 20:37 (eighteen years ago)

but seriously.. how was muscles?

here's to february.. gettin a tatt.. recording a solo album.. my first paid recording engineer gig.. another year older..

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 30 January 2007 23:53 (eighteen years ago)

Hay ya it is yr birthday soon innit.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 00:46 (eighteen years ago)

I had to choose between Joanna Newsom & Hot Chip and went for the Joanna Newsom (Or Joanna Gruesome as my friend said - not funny). Weird contrast to last year, when half the crowd were obviously there to see Smog because they left before/during her playing, and this year, in which they screamed their collective nuts off between every song.

badg (badg), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 00:57 (eighteen years ago)

i heard alexander downer on the radio just now sounding like he was wearing a bib and having a teaparty with his teddies and dolls, he was talking about david hicks with a bored contemptuous tone in his babyish spoiled brat voice, the fucking heartless prick, if i was there i'd tip orange cordial all over his green velvet knickerbockers.

estela (estela), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 01:16 (eighteen years ago)

I feel like some orange cordial. In a glass though.

S- (sgh), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 01:28 (eighteen years ago)

was it a hand and anus bib?

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

s, you can sit between big ted and jemima.

jim, your vulgarity has just cost you a second helping of fairy bread. (but yes, it was.)

estela (estela), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 01:37 (eighteen years ago)

Oh god I just read the Intellectual Flirting thread, please retrospectively killfile my brain

badg (badg), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 04:34 (eighteen years ago)

someone please gag louis with an anus bib

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 04:37 (eighteen years ago)

I will if someone explains this killfile thing to me.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 04:41 (eighteen years ago)

it only works with firefox, but it replaces the killfiled poster's post with "post by ignored user (trayce)".

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 04:42 (eighteen years ago)

if you were killfiling trayce, of course nobody would do such a thing in reality

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 04:43 (eighteen years ago)

I've never heard of an anus bib, is it like a nappy? Or how someone with a cold pronounces Anais Nin.

badg (badg), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 04:45 (eighteen years ago)

i'm not sure! context here Guys, I have to leave ILX

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 04:50 (eighteen years ago)

"post by ignored user (trayce)"

;_; i hope that was a joek :(

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 05:20 (eighteen years ago)

did someone say something??

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 05:21 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, I haev Firefox, how do I do it?

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 05:22 (eighteen years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 05:22 (eighteen years ago)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 23:37 (eighteen years ago)

omg they're playing at ding dong.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 23:37 (eighteen years ago)

I just spent 45 minutes on hold with Qantas and they played John Farnham -- TWICE!

Moral: this is nowhere on this planet where you can hide from John Farnahm.

King Boy Pato (patog27), Wednesday, 31 January 2007 23:45 (eighteen years ago)

I liked DingDongs better when it were the International :( Less wankers.

edward o (edwardo), Thursday, 1 February 2007 00:42 (eighteen years ago)

I can't think how it'd work, the beat on that song is so clunky. WOuld you have to like, triple-speed it? hahaha that would sound hilarious!

i remember having bepanthen cream and a bit of kitchen towel taped over it. how's the hygiene! if that happened to my current self i suspect i'd be horrified.

i think the gladwrap was to keep the blood in

my arm hurts

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 1 February 2007 22:28 (eighteen years ago)

We've been sent an email saying we're having a two day work/training type thing next month.

The problem is, day 1 involves all sales stuff, like pipelines and targets and how to sell, and I dont know why I have to go to that. Here's the worst bit though: day 2, the bit that is relevant to me, is then on the next day.

Saturday.

Do you think it will look selfish/demanding of me if I ask my boss "are we going to be paid for the saturday stuff"? There's been all this "company loyalty" and "put in the hard yards" shit going around lately and we're not paying our installers and all sorts of weird shit.

I dunno what to do.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 1 February 2007 22:31 (eighteen years ago)

you should absolutely be paid for the saturday. no question. you are not a volunteer.

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 1 February 2007 22:34 (eighteen years ago)

it sounds to me like it's high time to jump this sinking ship

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 1 February 2007 22:34 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah this company is circling the drain, I tell you.

Zoidberg (trayce), Thursday, 1 February 2007 22:35 (eighteen years ago)

Sigh.

I want to leave, but I havent saved up enough money and Nick is whining about having to hold the fort even though I did so when he wasnt being paid and FUCK this pisses me off sometimes.

Also, I want to go to a funeral tomorrow and I have no way of getting there, buh :(

LIfe. Dont talk to me about etc.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 1 February 2007 22:38 (eighteen years ago)

goodness

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 1 February 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Thursday, 1 February 2007 23:15 (eighteen years ago)

or sport a t-shirt saying much the same

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 1 February 2007 23:24 (eighteen years ago)

or a glossy poster for her office wall

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Thursday, 1 February 2007 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

coffee mug, mouse pad, screen saver...

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 1 February 2007 23:31 (eighteen years ago)

problem solved!

sunny successor agrees: gay dad always trumps slutty mom (katharine), Thursday, 1 February 2007 23:39 (eighteen years ago)

Sounds like a plan! CafePress here I come!

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 1 February 2007 23:40 (eighteen years ago)

Oh BTW the funeral thing bears no relation to the work shit, its just another bother.

That said, now I recall that back at ay ay pee tee, someone needed time off for a funeral and THEY WOULDNT LET HIM. I'd forgotten about that.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 1 February 2007 23:42 (eighteen years ago)

Trayce, you need a shirt that says "FIRE ME". With a large GUN underneath it!

I may have found a place I can live in for a while, while I look for a) a better place, and b) a better job.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 2 February 2007 01:47 (eighteen years ago)

a skip? a shipping container? a cardboard box on the great north road?

jimbo (electricsound), Friday, 2 February 2007 01:57 (eighteen years ago)

No, a room in a house. Near all the essential shops and an Oporto. I cannot explain how addicted I am to that stuff. 20 minutes from town, bus that goes right past people I know on the way to uni, sigh, I've taken it. It's not glamorous. But it's a start.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 2 February 2007 02:18 (eighteen years ago)

I have this horrible sickening feeling in my stomach.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 2 February 2007 02:18 (eighteen years ago)

Is oporto similar to nandos? I've always wondered.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 2 February 2007 02:19 (eighteen years ago)

Yup, I reckon so.

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Friday, 2 February 2007 02:25 (eighteen years ago)

Given my plans to get fat in 2007, this is a grand location to do it.

edward o (edwardo), Friday, 2 February 2007 03:31 (eighteen years ago)

You can have my fat if you like, Ed!

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 2 February 2007 03:33 (eighteen years ago)

Hm, somehow that sounded dirtier than I meant =)

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 2 February 2007 03:34 (eighteen years ago)

Is your fat delicious and tender and chickeny?

Ew you poor things.

Trayce (trayce), Friday, 2 February 2007 04:05 (eighteen years ago)

friends of mine are losing their housemate in a month ed! they're near town and buses and Oporto and walking distance to Uni!

Oporto is not like Nandos at all, it's very very bland and all processed patties, not real chicken really cooked

cave it for the sake list (kit brash), Friday, 2 February 2007 06:54 (eighteen years ago)

Sigh! But this place is OK because I still have to go to the Gong once a week and it's not so bad. Once I am no longer needed down there, I am gonna find somewhere else. It's just hard to look in Sydney when you're not based there and don't have a car innit. I'll be fine until May.

I haff keys! Hurrah. One of them is red. I like coloured keys.

Oh dear. Radiator blew, RACV inspection, towing, much walking in 36C and then public transport from Thomastown. Arrived at work a little before three.

S- (sgh), Monday, 5 February 2007 05:50 (eighteen years ago)

-5 here, bitches!

King Boy Pato (patog27), Monday, 5 February 2007 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

What time is it there?

S- (sgh), Monday, 5 February 2007 05:52 (eighteen years ago)

yikes xposts

jimbo (electricsound), Monday, 5 February 2007 05:53 (eighteen years ago)

the pseudo echo of the 90s! --> Silverchair in the year 2007. Do you care?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Monday, 5 February 2007 11:36 (eighteen years ago)

i can't see it

gem (trisk), Monday, 5 February 2007 11:59 (eighteen years ago)

Apart from having guitars and being shit, and ugly, neither do me. How on earth the ugly moot bagged Natalie Imbruglia, I'll never know.

edward o (edwardo), Monday, 5 February 2007 12:34 (eighteen years ago)

Wait. Ignore that. I was responding to something on that post.

Pseudo Echo were distinctly NOT shit. In fact, they were extremely good.

edward o (edwardo), Monday, 5 February 2007 12:43 (eighteen years ago)

hoolah hoolah

slackety yax (H2-H4), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 01:11 (eighteen years ago)

jimbo (electricsound), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 01:13 (eighteen years ago)

-10 right now, booyah.

King Boy Pato (patog27), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 03:06 (eighteen years ago)

So whats happening down your way?

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 06:19 (eighteen years ago)

That is open to any of you to answer...

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 06:38 (eighteen years ago)

My life is in boxes and it's depressingly slight :(

edward o (edwardo), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 07:07 (eighteen years ago)

I'm kind of happy, I went to my dietitian this afternoon thinking I hadn't made any progress, but I've lost three kilos and I really haven't been trying terribly hard so I feel rather motivated now.

But yeah, moving sucks. We've been in our current place 6 months and still don't feel 100% settled.

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 07:19 (eighteen years ago)

Yay for losing 3kg without trying, though. The annoying thing with trying to do any more isn't the effort, it's the time. I'm seriously considering just taking a month off to try to get myself sorted emotionally/physically, because I can probably just about afford to.

edward o (edwardo), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 07:50 (eighteen years ago)

For me it's just remembering to make the effort. Time is something I have plenty of :)

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Tuesday, 6 February 2007 08:24 (eighteen years ago)

yo kids

i rode my bike to work for the first time today. i discovered many interesting things, including that other cyclists are jerks, my tyres need more air, and i am exceedingly unfit

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

i am exceedingly unfit

Yeah I learned that when I did 20 laps of my sisters pool last night.

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 00:33 (eighteen years ago)

Hot damn, the time difference on this board shits me sometimes! I want to get stuck into certain completely psychotic idiots, and can't because their rambling diahorrea happened 9 hours ago and has since been overrun with other posters and the topic completely changing :(

Probably a good thing, I guess.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 00:38 (eighteen years ago)

Also, I would consider riding to work too, cept I dont own a bike, I bet I cant remembver how to ride one, and I'm not biking down St Kilda Road innit.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 00:55 (eighteen years ago)

I have my NSW teacher registration interview on Friday. Assuming they approve me, I will probably cycle to schools in my area if I can avoid main roads.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 01:14 (eighteen years ago)

Another interesting thing about riding to work is you get to see how many people in cars run red lights at pedestrian crossings.

bikely.com is a good source of cycling routes.

Oh and don't make the mistake I did and think 'what's the deal with all these twats wearing gloves' - the first chilly day I could barely hold the handlebars. Also resist the urge to kick back in a cafe in brightly coloured lycra and a cute little cycling hat with a wee brim.

badg (badg), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

the cold and i are good friends.

yeah bikely. it's pretty obvious how many people use the same routes - i was alarmed to see a million people turn off down canning street when i was heading for rathdowne.

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 01:45 (eighteen years ago)

heh I ride down Canning Street! Against the flow though

badg (badg), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 01:48 (eighteen years ago)

i'll wave at you going in the other direction when i try out that route tomorrow

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 02:01 (eighteen years ago)

Nice, I'll be the one with a panicked look because I'm meant to be at work already and I've still got a half-hour ride in front of me

badg (badg), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 02:07 (eighteen years ago)

OMG the enemylist thred on noiz. Hahahahaha. OMG omg omg. *hueg mirth*

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 04:52 (eighteen years ago)

Holy Shit!

badg (badg), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 05:03 (eighteen years ago)

AWESOME!

Thanks for bringing that to my attention Trayce, it made my day.

The Jaguar Who Sleeps At The Centre Of The World. (Mikey Bidness), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 06:34 (eighteen years ago)

someone should make a big photoshop of everyone on ILX hanging out without her in it

U magnificent bastard.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 06:37 (eighteen years ago)

So wanted to excelsior that but so not wanting to attract attentions.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 06:37 (eighteen years ago)

that was truly fabulous.

actually my first ever post on ilx was a kate zing.

estela (estela), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 06:45 (eighteen years ago)

I felt very bad about laughing at that afterwards, though pretty great while doing so.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 06:49 (eighteen years ago)

Hey Mikey doesn't kate remind you ov a certain B*linda who showed up unwanted at our FAP recently? =)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 08:42 (eighteen years ago)

Pardon?

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 10:56 (eighteen years ago)

you know we don't mean you, srsly.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 10:57 (eighteen years ago)

Oh c'mon, Kate (henceforth 'Our Kate' or O.K.), you know we're not talking about you! Why the hell would we start that kinda badness?

Nah, we're talking about Masonic Boom - and you know the Belinda of which we speak!

Mike Stuchbery (Mike Stuchbery), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 11:13 (eighteen years ago)

I rode down Canning Street today.

On Swanston I almost got crushed by a truck that pulled over to park (without indicating). Well that doesn't sound too encouraging but I hope you stick with it, Jim.
Today was a bit windy and that makes biking that bit harder.

spectra (spectra), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 11:31 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah I know...I'm just being a pain :)

xpost

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 12:10 (eighteen years ago)

Phew I was momentarily worried I'd have to xplain that ;)

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 12:13 (eighteen years ago)

there is quite a bit of vacant bleating going on in that vego thread isn't there

gem (trisk), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 12:19 (eighteen years ago)

Isnt there always in such threads? I mean HOW many times have we gone over it, we know who the miltants are, who the moderates are, and who the gleeful shitpokers are. You'd think everyone'd get it by now. But noooo.

Still, some threads have been providing grebt lolfodder in recent days. Keep it up psychos!

PS hi dere all.

Trayce (trayce), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 21:40 (eighteen years ago)

morning. puff. today's ride was easier, thanks to putting more air in my tyres

jimbo (electricsound), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 22:05 (eighteen years ago)

morning. last day in the wollongong, holla. life is grand. when I don't have horrible anxiety about the whole damn thing.

I started reading that vego thread when it was quite short, and was glad the time difference thing meant my second read was to be 300 posts and just thought "stuff this". It saved me a lot of irritation, tho quoting the lollables would be good.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 7 February 2007 22:07 (eighteen years ago)

Oh god public transport sucks.

How do you reconcile biking to work with arriving all sweaty and having to sit in an office all day?

car ready (again) today...

S- (sgh), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

the cool breeze went up my sleeves and kept my armpits and torso dry and fresh

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:33 (eighteen years ago)

aren't you a vision of loveliness

estela (estela), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:35 (eighteen years ago)

I never have many PT problems, but thats cause I've made a point of working slightly outside of peakhour ie 9.30-10 til after 6. Avoid all the crush that way. They totally need to let more people's hours be staggered, if they cant get shit together to fix the damn trains.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:39 (eighteen years ago)

i didn't really have that much of a problem with PT but it's a waste of money and i'm a fatass

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:51 (eighteen years ago)

I sweat like crazy then shower at work

badg (badg), Thursday, 8 February 2007 01:52 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, there's the option of shower at work too, but that seems weird, and adds all the time you could've saved doing anything else.

Trayce, I work the same hours as you, but PT is still a major fucking pain. Also, I have transit times of around an hour, with a whole lot of other smelly reprobates.

Much better to spend around 30 mins in a comfortable car, CityLink paid for and a car space in an underground lock up car park.

S- (sgh), Thursday, 8 February 2007 02:49 (eighteen years ago)

Ah, but you're lucky you have that, most people have to pay $15 a day for parking, and city link and petrol. And it can sometimes take longer to get in by car. How can it take you an HOUR to get in on PT? It only takes me 40 mins and thats including a 5-10 min walk at each end.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 February 2007 02:59 (eighteen years ago)

35 minute ride this morning! equal to the train + walk! evangelise evangelise!

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:00 (eighteen years ago)

yeah an hour wtf, aren't you guys just around the corner from me?

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:00 (eighteen years ago)

oh hang on i'm making the mistake of assuming you work near the city, soz

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:01 (eighteen years ago)

Ah yeah, I assuemd that too.

Trayce (trayce), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:07 (eighteen years ago)

I walk two minutes to work...IN SNOOOOW...

King Boy Pato (patog27), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:26 (eighteen years ago)

it takes me 15-20 minutes to work usually. thinking of breaking the bike out meself though, in fact I did start at the start of the year before the heatwave hit.

slackety yax (H2-H4), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:44 (eighteen years ago)

yeah when the weather's hot i might reconsider the train, but then it might not make that much of a difference

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 03:48 (eighteen years ago)

i had to retire my bike last year but my mum just gave me hers! i'm going to be riding again from next week. we have a shower at work so no stinking up the workplace. it takes about 25 min for me to cycle in. and so much fun!

gem (trisk), Thursday, 8 February 2007 11:01 (eighteen years ago)

although my friends all hate me for saying that as i have a parking bay at my current job.

gem (trisk), Thursday, 8 February 2007 11:06 (eighteen years ago)

stick the bike in it, at a jaunty angle.

you know, (kit brash), Thursday, 8 February 2007 11:52 (eighteen years ago)

omg never thought of that. how much would that shit my workmates who don't have a spot! the laffs would be endless. also there is some bureaucratic redtape bullshit that says we can't share the bay with others when not using. of course i am going to recklessly flout that rule! crikey what a rebel.

gem (trisk), Thursday, 8 February 2007 11:55 (eighteen years ago)

morning. cyclists are still jerks but i was faster than the train this morning! woot.

i'll can the daily commentary now

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 22:32 (eighteen years ago)

Oh, and I was just getting used to it :)

While you were riding the train to work, I think I was feeding my ducks and cleaning out their cage. Exciting!

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Thursday, 8 February 2007 22:41 (eighteen years ago)

do they get along with the cat?

jimbo (electricsound), Thursday, 8 February 2007 22:44 (eighteen years ago)

Cats, plural :)

Well the cats aren't allowed outside, but naturally the ducks are, so it kind of works out well, although the cats spend large periods of the day , faces pressed up against the sliding door staring lovingly at the duck enclosure.

It's a hard world for little things... (papa november), Thursday, 8 February 2007 23:07 (eighteen years ago)

I think I meant longingly rather than lovingly....maybe even bloodthirstily.
