Love bites - classic or dud?

An 'older' person (nearly 50) who I know has some. It's just been her wedding anniversary. I think it's quite sweet that her and her husband are still acting like teenagers, but someone else I know (blood-relative of the love-bitten) thinks it is disgusting and gross and icky and cheesy.

So?

DUD!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I hate it when someone leaves one on my body. No idea why, but it actually turns me off.

But my David loves the marks. He wants them and he wants them to be visible. I think he likes to show the world that 'Hey, no matter how odd you think I am, there's someone who loves me and finds me sexy enough to bite' or something like that.

Classic
Dud

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Dud, especially when they exist only as evidence of a disgusting one night stand.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Are all one night stands disgusting? Or just specific ones? And what is the criteria?

I'm Passing Open Windows (Ms Laura), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes I am a hardline catholic.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:42 (twenty-two years ago)

no it's just me, I'm sure some people can enjoy but I am a weirdo, there were some threads.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:44 (twenty-two years ago)

(i wish i'd said nothing)

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:44 (twenty-two years ago)

One-night stands are generally shit in my experience.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 08:48 (twenty-two years ago)

*smile* If wishes were horses then beggars might ride?

I don't think there's anything weird in not liking one-night stands, and if they're not something that you enjoy, then I'd avoid them. That is cool.

Love bites are ok, but as long as they're not visible. I can't even remember the last time I had one! blimey i am old!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:09 (twenty-two years ago)

I once found one on my arm.

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Arms are totally the best place for them.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:12 (twenty-two years ago)

arms are too good for them

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:14 (twenty-two years ago)

At least if it's on your arm you could get away with 'I fell over'!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:15 (twenty-two years ago)

if it's on your neck you could get away with "i feel love eh"

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

jesus that was awful please forgive me

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Hmm, ok, you're forgiven!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:17 (twenty-two years ago)

I think he was addressing the real Jesus.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:19 (twenty-two years ago)

hence the ominous silence

Ronan (Ronan), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:22 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't think I've ever had one. Can't say I'm gutted.

Nick Southall (Nick Southall), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I think he was addressing the real Jesus.

And your point.....?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Maybe stigmatics are really just hickie loving nyhmpos for Jesus.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 10:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I think this may be one of those Murkin/Inglish language things, cuz as far as I know love bites are hella classic, but in that I know "love bites" as the act of biting someone (not like draw-blood-type biting, though), rather than lasting marks upon the flesh. I think we call these "hickies" in America. The word "hicky" makes them sound as dud as they actually are. However, doing-whatever-it-was-whereupon-I-got-the-"hicky" has always been nothing other than classic.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 12:07 (twenty-two years ago)

I have a little freckle on my neck that is apparently some kind of homing device for my boy. I have very fair & thin skin and get hickeys pretty easily, bleh. But the getting is fun.

I like how you've weighted the contest.

N. (nickdastoor), Tuesday, 9 September 2003 17:17 (twenty-two years ago)
