Maybe it's none of my business, but why the locked thread about the triangular orifice?

I mean, I've seen more offensive threads, but it got closed after 1 post. Eh?

Or is it politics?

Johnney B (Johnney B), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I suspect just someone got annoyed at yet another useless of this ilk, I dunno.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

And locked by Dan Perry, no less, who has made more anus jokes than anyone! I thought that was odd. Unless it was C*l*m, but those are usually deleted.

THAT Kate (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

useless question even.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm glad it was deleted, it looked distinctly unappetising.

Enrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Dan threw a fit of pique over an unusually annoying/nasty poster. Fair enough, you must excuse us mods our quirks.

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:53 (twenty-one years ago)

i'd delete them rather than lock them. can't stand un-necessary clutter (unless it's of my own making) - free type whatever

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

And if we're still deleting C*l*m, can someone delete the one on ILM that I just stupidly posted to?

THAT Kate (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I should be worried that a thread can be locked without reason or comeback. Fortunatly I'm not worried at all . . . but I feel like I should be.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

It's one of the shortfalls of the forum mate. You should see it when whole threads are just swallowed up.

Alex K (Alex K), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

c-man just had a thread called 'porn' deleted

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Again?

THAT Kate (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Does it count as being deleted if no-one read or posted on it?

Enrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Weex! I spoke too soon, it disappeared from ILM.

THAT Kate (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:12 (twenty-one years ago)

*ping*

Alex K (Alex K), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

i must admit, althuogh i think its funny when calums threads keep getting deleted, i think its funnier when hes back with another one, and then that one is gone too. so its as though there was never one in the first place

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:18 (twenty-one years ago)

You have to wonder why he bothers.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:25 (twenty-one years ago)

We're still left with the question as to why some threads are deleted and some arn't. We need some clarificatiion of the rules, FIFA stylee. Not that I've ever fallen foul of them, but still . . .

Johnney B (Johnney B), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:26 (twenty-one years ago)

there is stuff in the archives abt this johnney, I'll have a look and see if I can find the thread. There was some sort of guideline written as a rsponse to some seriously annoying & disruptive nuisance posters (1 referred to above)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:30 (twenty-one years ago)

here it is:

ADMIN: personal vendettas, vigilante action, etc

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 12:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Just so everyone knows, this nonsense is coming from fletrejet's IP address.

-- Dan Perry (djperr...), December 9th, 2003. (later) (link)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also I'm going to start deleting your threads now because you've gone from amusingly bizarre to tiresome in an amazingly short time and I'm feeling capricious. Buh-bye.

-- Dan Perry (djperr...), December 9th, 2003. (later) (link)

This was posted to the "Hebrew Hammer" thread. In the span of about 10 minutes, fletrejet started that thread, the Vespa thread, and about 6 threads dedicated to his anal troubles. I left the Vespa thread, warned him on the Hebrew Hammer thread, locked the triangular aanus thread as a further warning, then deleted the others as they popped up.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:21 (twenty-one years ago)

i have to say it seems very unlike fletrejet

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

does he/she have the same IP as clum?

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:29 (twenty-one years ago)

haha julio you have the same ip as c*l*m sometimes!!

this seems unlike fletrejet's mo, I agree.

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:31 (twenty-one years ago)

this is just like the calstars thing all over again. will the persecution never end? please say it won't.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I just bought a Vespa!

The fletrejet post and the "I'm metrosexual" post are from the same IP address. The deleted threads (along with the triangular anus thread) were in the same vein as the metrosexual post. The same IP address gave us the anti-semetic abuse on the Hebrew Hammer thread and the racist posts on the Wal-Mart thread (which can be linked back to the "peabrained shits" comment made both under "fletrejet" and a garbled psuedonym as well as IP address).

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe fletrejet let a friend use his computer?

Maybe fletrejet is drunk!

THAT Kate (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:45 (twenty-one years ago)

The flipside of this is that fletrejet is not a registered user, so it's very possible that someone stumbled across him in the Wal-Mart thread and decided to to use his identity to troll.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

It's very possible that the two fletrejets are different entities, especially since the other IP address I found for him gives a bunch of much more reasonable posts than the ones I was deleting yesterday.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

What is "fletrejet" a reference to? An individual's name, or a pop culture reference? It could be two people coincidentally posting with the same name.

THAT Kate (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Just Googled the word: No non-ILX refs.

Fred Nerk (Fred Nerk), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 13:53 (twenty-one years ago)

for me, all this necessarily proves is someone using roadrunner in Tampa

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:01 (twenty-one years ago)

"fletrejet" has an "l" in it so he is probably actually Calum!!!

Allyzay, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate: fletrejet is the name of an ILE poster.

Ally: THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT, TOO!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:20 (twenty-one years ago)

I know that, duh, Dan. I was just asking if the moniker itself was a reference to anything else.

i.e. how many "subterranean homesick ::screename::"s were there on boards in the late 90s due to Radiohead/Dylan references?

Kate 22 (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Dan...I dunno if I should point this out, but have you ever noticed that "Calum" contains "Al"...?

Allyzay, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate: Damn you for not giving me anything I can do my patented deadpan schtick on! You've completely obliterated my flow and left me hanging. Sob.

Ally: I KNEW IT, YOU SCOTTISH FIEND

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, I brought this up on an inappropriate thread, next time you feel capricious and whimsical and want to go around deleting and locking things for fun, Dan, can you please delete Ajabot? "She" is far more annoying and thread-destructive than any of this was. Thanks in advance.

And leave all my porn threads alone!

Allyzay, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Allyzay OTM -- she's sinister you ask me. Dunno how, but...

Enrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

kids today

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I like aja because she's annoying alex in nyc.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

She's not sinister or anything. She's A CHILD. If you read her posts as coming from A CHILD, then they are just cute/funny/silly/however you think of children.

Now, whether ILX as a whole is actually *suitable* for children is a different issue, and something which is, on the whole, BurmaKitty's business, rather than ours.

Kate 22 (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

oh is she burmakitty's kid?

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

and ilx is totally appropriate for kids, this place is vanilla like phyllis dilla

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

someone plz kill me 4real

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

however you think of children = a) 'you' on interweb - yikes!
b) not seen, not heard, thanx

Enrique (Enrique), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

How old is she anyway?

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh Aja's fine, geez

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

tuomas stop scoping out aja you cad!

cinniblount (James Blount), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Andrew's the one who said she was FOINE!

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I propose we ban her for being named after a Steely Dan album.

NA (Nick A.), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 14:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah!

Tales from Topographic Oceans (Mark C), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:00 (twenty-one years ago)

BAN EVERYONE THAT'S EVER BEEN ANNOYING EVER! BAN THEM TO THE HELL THAT IS SOME OTHER MESSAGE BOARD!

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:09 (twenty-one years ago)

(Like marissa's, for example)

Pashmina (Pashmina), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Unless they're hot

Andrew Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Wow yeah I obviously meant my post seriously, being as I think Dan Perry is a capricious dickwad, and I actually am Calum! You're all very clever.

http://valdefierro.com/young06.jpg
Alex, nickalicious, NA, Kate!

Allyzay, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I haven't watched that show in like 10 years so I don't know who I'm supposed to be or what that means. Kisses!

NA (Nick A.), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate's Rick Mayall??!!

Tuomas (Tuomas), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I am *so* Rik. This I do not deny. Except when I'm around HSA, because he is more Rik than I am.

Even if you say that you didn't mean that you meant your post seriously, there are a lot of other people who *did* and started arguing from that perspective, so what I've said about her still applies.

Kate 22 (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:34 (twenty-one years ago)

NA you are so Mike.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:34 (twenty-one years ago)

If it makes you feel any better, he was the suave mufucka.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think anyone was seriously talking about banning her, I think it was more a case that some of us find her schtick to be more tiresome than cute.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't even have to comment on the Nickalicious/Neil thing. I move to change your name to Neilalicious! I'm writing to my local counciller now! Or maybe Echo and the Bunnymen!

Kate 22 (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Argh I need to watch this show again as I don't know what you guys are on about.

NA (Nick A.), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

i am an amalgam of all the Young Ones, plus all the Balowskis and Special Patrol Group

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate I know! My post was aimed at both sides! I mean "sinister"?

NA trust me, you are definitely Mike. The entire time we were on the train to Boston, I kept thinking "Haha that's totally NA" the entire time we were watching it but then I didn't want to say that outloud because that would be really dorky.

Allyzay, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Mike was cool so it is no way an insult.

El Diablo Robotico (Nicole), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Apparently all it takes to be "the Neil" is to smoke ganja, innit?

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Are you sure that's not South African ganja?

Kate 22 (kate), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:41 (twenty-one years ago)

WTF Kate, are you calling me ugly now too? ;-)

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

None of these are insults!

nickalicious that's very boring.

Allyzay, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Story of my fucking life. Loud and boring.

nickalicious is just gonna click that little red x in teh top corner now then, s, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Perhaps you should try being soft and attentive. Also spend more time in foreplay.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:50 (twenty-one years ago)

neil = boring clothes, pessimism
rik = pretentious twat
mike = cool but boring and unfunny
vyv = violent mentalist

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

maybe Dan is the Mike.

Allyzay, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:57 (twenty-one years ago)

A WINNER IS ME

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Dan sleeps with blowup dolls?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 16:09 (twenty-one years ago)

That surprises you?!

Allyzay, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 16:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Joei might have cause for complaint.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)

There are no robots in The Young Ones!! Arrrrgh

TOMBOT, Tuesday, 9 December 2003 16:16 (twenty-one years ago)

How is Aja's "shtick" any more tiresome than Alex in NYC's?

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 16:16 (twenty-one years ago)

(Actually, sometimes I like to think of them in a buddy movie together, driving through Manhattan in a beat-up station wagon, singing along to Killing Joke together.)

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 16:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Alex largely keeps his shtick to ILM?

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 9 December 2003 16:18 (twenty-one years ago)
