Dr. Glen Y. Abreu (dr g), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 20:39 (twenty years ago)

mandee I'm with you dawg. MORE THREADS. I'M DOING MY PART, WHY WON'T YOU?

n/a (Nick A.), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 20:45 (twenty years ago)

sorry, meant to do this:

This is the thread for entirely specious boasting
This is the thread for entirely spacious boasting
This is the thread for entirely spacious boating

x-post I watched 35-Up and 42-Up recently - they're great, especially 42. Can't wait for 49-Up.

I'm not, but I want to!

The Ghost of Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 20:47 (twenty years ago)

A thread for Mandee.

Ian Riese-Moraine: a casualty of social estrangement. (Eastern Mantra), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 20:48 (twenty years ago)

Dean, Dan: I watched all of them a couple of months ago!

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 20:48 (twenty years ago)

see, those threads you linked to, they really don't count in my eyes

i really think we are running low on good, quality threads like this one

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 20:49 (twenty years ago)

"But what if I don't like greens, but then my wife cooks me greens, but I don't like greens, and then that's it."

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 20:50 (twenty years ago)

i thought the up series was BOOOOOO-RING

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 20:51 (twenty years ago)

i'll give you this, there certainly aren't enough threads on the mod request forum today.

Masked Gazza, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 20:55 (twenty years ago)

I don't want to post a spoiler about 42-Up, but the guy who in 28 and 35 is moving farther out into remote parts of Scotland, and seems to be getting crazier - he's the best part of 42, for me.

It can be, esp. if you watch them all straight through. Gets repetitive with all the flashbacks. I also sometimes wished that they had stuck with the first film's structure of cutting back and forth from different characters while considering the same theme, instead of the later approach of presenting each character methodically, in 10-to-15-minute segments.

I tend to agree. Threads do seem to have been rather sparse of late.

Aramyr, Wednesday, 3 August 2005 05:01 (twenty years ago)

finally, someone with some sense!!

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 05:06 (twenty years ago)

I'd grown used to threads galore, with no end in sight! But it feels rather like a wasteland these days. Surely others cannot be blind to this.

Aramyr, Wednesday, 3 August 2005 05:14 (twenty years ago)

I haven't started a thread in ages. That's the reason.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 08:57 (twenty years ago)

Maybe the mood in London is a factor...

I feel like I've come full circle here in three years.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:18 (twenty years ago)

:-( *Hugs*

nathalie sans denouement (stevie nixed), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:21 (twenty years ago)

i think i've only started two threads in my entire ILX history. and i only remember what one of them was about.

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:23 (twenty years ago)

were you logged out on both occasions?

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:24 (twenty years ago)

I almost started a thread about how the sky looks 'big' today - it's the fast moving clouds that makes the effect.

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:24 (twenty years ago)

I have found that recently the only threads that really engage me are the ones I start myself. And I've been feeling less and less inclined to start threads, even if I do come up with topics I find interesting. Maybe because I can't be bothered due to job pressure, maybe because I don't think anyone else would be interested in the social history of male wig-wearing fashion as expression of sexual politics and class.

I suspect that all the people who used to start threads I really like might feel the same way. So... it's endless lists and Big Brother threads for the foreseeable future.

[/solipsism]

Masonic Boom (kate), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:29 (twenty years ago)

logging out is for puss-weeds.
my first thread was when i broke my face on the floor.
i'm sure i posted another... about something... probably something inane and/or whiney.

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:29 (twenty years ago)

Big Brother finishes next week. Then it's back to more threads about the Premiership and Champions League. YES!

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:30 (twenty years ago)

oh, tabbycat hair. yes, inane AND whiney. i rule.

g-kit (g-kit), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:32 (twenty years ago)

Do you think there wil be another series of NY:Lon?

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:34 (twenty years ago)

Yes, maybe with the genders reversed for a change. Sigh.

Masonic Boom (kate), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:35 (twenty years ago)

They'd have to call it LONNY

anyway, here's my 9 most recent ILE threads:

The issues that matter #4813: New BBC Weather graphics (yay tv graphics/design and whatnot)

This might be the thread where ILXors sell stuff to and buy stuff from other ILXors (could be really useful - like ebay purely for ilxors - wish it would take off)

I Heart Favicons (pretty go-nowhere stuff, think i just wanted to show off my collection of favicons at the top of my browser)

Sexy Goats (picture thread) (stupid copycat thread)

Shoot That Frog (link to fun game)

What was the first sex scene you saw on TV? (i would def. buy a book about how 'sex on TV' and how it's progressed over the decades in terms of what's acceptable to show...not because i am a big perv you understand)

Smoke: A London Peculiar (any excuse to babble about London really)

DVD ripping questions and advice (self-serving, techy)

UEFA Champions League 05/06, this is the thread for (traditional, footy)

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:38 (twenty years ago)

Wow, I've only started 7 threads in the past 4 months or so, some are very ropey, especially the shopping channel one:

Come anticipate Genghis Khan with me!

Star Wars: The TV series!!!

Discuss Hero Products & Shopping Channels

What Are You Listening To: pre-summer 2005.

Transfer Speculation Thread: 2005-6

Sci-Fi Movies Where The Future Isn't Totally Messed Up - make a list!

Charity Wristbands C/D?

Sci-Fi Movies Where The Future Isn't Totally Messed Up - make a list!

This was a great one, conceptually at least. I must go and re-read it.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:49 (twenty years ago)

i won this thread!!! Thread Race! (The last word you can actually win!)

huell howser (chaki), Wednesday, 3 August 2005 09:51 (twenty years ago)

I think that thread ended up talking about sex-bots steve, so yeah, a partial success I guess.
