Jack be nimble, jack be quick.
Take a ride on the West Coast kick.
Holiday road.

What a great jam. So goddamned catchy.

They have never issued the soundtrack on CD -- I have it on vinyl. Apparently as a promotion they pressed 10,000 copies of the soundtrack to this and "Christmas Vacation" to celebrate the DVD releases, but they are hard to track down and go for like $150.00 on eBay!

This disc has been in my S0u1s33k wishlist for like 3 years, and I have posted my desire for it on several "wishlist" threads on here. Buckingham also did the end credits music, "Dancin' Cross the U.S.A."

Does anyone have an in with this CD?

I remember the dog woofs on the chorus very well. There was even a video!

I was able to find one by a simple search on Slsk with privs. I'll DL it and make it available in the ILM chat there tomorrow.

Buy the first two LB solo records, uh go crazy and law and order??? I have no idea if that is right.
This song rules.

Reverse order (by date), and it's "Go Insane". Seems like I'll have to get this sndtrk.

Lindsey Buckingham's "Holiday Road" is the most bestest song of all time.

I think I'm partial to "I'm Alright" these days, though...

Stormy Davis (diamond), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Are we talking holiday road here?

king of the eyesores (papa november), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

oops x-post

king of the eyesores (papa november), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

What's that on Stormy?

Andrew Blood Thames (Andrew Thames), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:57 (twenty-one years ago)

haha, that's the "Caddyshack" theme song, done by Kenny Loggins.

(it's funny -- at the end of that other thread, Spittle says he always assumed "Holiday Road" was his favorite Loggins song)

Stormy Davis (diamond), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 00:58 (twenty-one years ago)

"Trouble" from Law and Order rules. My friend told me it instantly transported him back to a mall when I played it, in a good way.

Brian Turner (btwfmu), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 03:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Law And Order is the one with the gay Herb Ritts-looking Barbazon cover, right?

Naive Teen Idol (Naive Teen Idol), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 04:45 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, and it has trouble on it, which is simply beguiling.

Magic City (ano ano), Tuesday, 16 November 2004 04:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll put in a good word for 1992's "Out Of The Cradle," a worthwhile forgotten '90s album. "Countdown" is probably my favorite, but all of the songs are pretty decent.

LB had a bit of a mini-Loggins thing going with those '80s soundtracks. He also contributed "Time Bomb Town" to "Back To The Future."

Oh - sorry - yeah, I am hunting down the whole soundtrack CD... I have "Holiday Road," I want the whole beast.

I remember seeing him do "Bwana" on Saturday Night Live and being like "what the hell?" bt

Brian Turner (btwfmu), Wednesday, 17 November 2004 03:37 (twenty-one years ago)

I have a scratchy off-the-tv recording of Bwana from SNL .. that was fantastic. And Trouble, when played live on SNL, was the best version I've ever heard.
