Literally. I've heard the Annie remix, and the recent Royksopp mix. I want to know wat more to look for. Any thoughts? (I tried searching and no such thread seemed to exist.)

Some Braxe threads:

Alan Braxe & Fred Falke: what're they up to lately?

Alan Braxe 'Rubicon' & Paradise (Braxe & Romauld) 'In Love With You'

S: "Intro," and the remix of Britney's "Anticipating"

brittle-lemon, Sunday, 3 July 2005 14:56 (nineteen years ago)

S: His remix of Bjork's Alarm Call with Ben Diamond. It's fantastic.

Dorian Lynskey, Sunday, 3 July 2005 18:48 (nineteen years ago)

"Rubicon" is like driving in 100 degree heat in your cherry red TransAm en route to some neon desert motel where you'll make out with the robot version of Pat Benatar. Its something of a Roxy Music type mood music for rednecks. I haven't heard much of the other stuff, but obviously i'm recommending this one. oh "Intro" is just ok. I bet the Britney remix is good.

Susan Douglas (Susan Douglas), Sunday, 3 July 2005 23:00 (nineteen years ago)

Does anyone still have the version of "Rubicon" bootlegged with DJ Deeon? I missed out on that one...

Telephonething (Telephonething), Sunday, 3 July 2005 23:43 (nineteen years ago)

i was just going to ask for that after reading other threads. it has the vocals? can't really imagine that ... but sounds potentially awesome.

Susan Douglas (Susan Douglas), Sunday, 3 July 2005 23:45 (nineteen years ago)

I'd been wondering what the hell Pitchfork were on after describing the original mix of Rubicon as "DJ Assault-biting" in their best singles of the 00's list. Now I know, and knowing is half etc.

Telephonething (Telephonething), Sunday, 3 July 2005 23:49 (nineteen years ago)

i have a copy but it's kind of a crummy radio rip. want an email?

g e o f f (gcannon), Monday, 4 July 2005 00:22 (nineteen years ago)

there is no "original version" of rubicon with dj deeon vocals. it's a mashup someone ripped from a radio show. i don't think it even came out on white-label. what pitchfork is on = getting stung by getting yr info from filesharing instead of from the record shop.

vahid (vahid), Monday, 4 July 2005 00:37 (nineteen years ago)

Vahid: I know; I should've worded that post more clearly.

Telephonething (Telephonething), Monday, 4 July 2005 19:48 (nineteen years ago)

I ended up making my own version of the Cassius live 'Rubicon vs Let Me Bang' mix shortly after I first heard it. Here it is again (could still do with better quality copy of the Deon track).

Can upload the mix I did for XFM a while back that features 'Rubicon' mixed with 'Wanksta' and a couple of other things too if anyone wants it.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 4 July 2005 21:03 (nineteen years ago)

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 28 July 2005 21:20 (nineteen years ago)

listen to love island, and tell me i'm wrong

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 28 July 2005 21:21 (nineteen years ago)

you're not wrong.

jergins (jergins), Friday, 29 July 2005 06:50 (nineteen years ago)

I'm still confused over what 'Most Wanted' is, if not 'Intro' or 'Running'.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Friday, 29 July 2005 09:06 (nineteen years ago)

?

well, its not intro/running, thats for sure!

charltonlido (gareth), Friday, 29 July 2005 10:41 (nineteen years ago)

Surely it is the track aka 'Running'? I think there is Vitalic-esque labelling confusion as it seemed to be either the 'Most Wanted' EP featuring 'Running' or the 'Running' EP featuring 'Most Wanted'.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Friday, 29 July 2005 11:58 (nineteen years ago)

My copy from amazon.co.uk should be arriving today! (along with FF5 Misch Masch!!!)

i had only heard "music sounds better with you" before downloading the comp today - "in love with you" and "love lost" and "at night" blew me away when i heard them! seems like this will be my UNCLASSICS for the next year, discovered late, just like i did with that one. in fact, maybe ill start a thread about the two.
