Is this a joke?

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 17 January 2004 15:26 (twenty-one years ago)

haha this is not a joke.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 17 January 2004 15:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Everyone will think it's a joke.

N. (nickdastoor), Saturday, 17 January 2004 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

:(

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 17 January 2004 15:32 (twenty-one years ago)

happy birthday cozen!

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 17 January 2004 15:36 (twenty-one years ago)

you remembered!

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 17 January 2004 15:37 (twenty-one years ago)

of course we'll fap.

happy birthday cozen ;)

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Saturday, 17 January 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Is this in the easter holidays? If it is I may travel for it...

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Saturday, 17 January 2004 16:10 (twenty-one years ago)

yup. easter holidays.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 17 January 2004 16:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Barry can me and Cozen sleep on yr floor?

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Saturday, 17 January 2004 16:22 (twenty-one years ago)

wah? it's 10 days before Easter.

jel -- (jel), Saturday, 17 January 2004 16:29 (twenty-one years ago)

nick - that's quite the sentence.

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 17 January 2004 16:33 (twenty-one years ago)

happy birthday!

clearly the pint pot will be the venue for this.

toby (tsg20), Saturday, 17 January 2004 17:46 (twenty-one years ago)

This is four days before my birthday. I want you all to remember this and buy me drinks at this FAP.

Anna (Anna), Saturday, 17 January 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

And happy birthdy Cozen for now. I would buy you drinks, but you're in Scotland.

Anna (Anna), Saturday, 17 January 2004 17:56 (twenty-one years ago)

i feel bad. it's not my birthday : / teeny this is all your fault!

cozen (Cozen), Saturday, 17 January 2004 18:25 (twenty-one years ago)

This is four days before my birthday. I want you all to remember this and buy me drinks at this FAP.

this should clearly be on a drinks for songs basis.

toby (tsg20), Saturday, 17 January 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

bwahahahahaha.

teeny (teeny), Saturday, 17 January 2004 20:43 (twenty-one years ago)

It's nine days before my birthday. Do I get bought free drinks for that, too, or do I have to wait? (Dammit, I can't even have a birthday party on mine own birthday cause my boyfriend's opening is that night.)

(Anna, I didn't know you were an Aries, that makes sense!)

the river fleet, Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:14 (twenty-one years ago)

you have to sing

Ed (dali), Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

fleet, where are you?

Ed (dali), Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm in Bennington, Ed! My god, it's pretty! I think they filmed Betelgeuse here! Do you want a postcard?

(Buy me enough drinks and I will sing. Regardless of whether there is Karaoke on or not. HAH!)

the river fleet, Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:19 (twenty-one years ago)

ooh postcards, yay. Is it snowy there?

Ed (dali), Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually scrub that. I saw SABC Africa news yesterday and they swoed firement with icicles on there helments in PA, so the question is:

is it nice twee snowy or ice storm dead pensioners snowy?

Ed (dali), Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Is the River Fleet who I think it is or is it someone new? (If the latter, hi there!)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:27 (twenty-one years ago)

There's the remains of a three foot blizzard on the ground - which is about a foot left - right now! It's SOOOOO pretty! Very snowy, very cold, but not actually snowing right now. I want to go cross-country skiing at Hillsdene but my mum would rather go snow-shoeing.

X-post, it's icicle twee snowy up here, (because this is the tweest village in Vermont) but I'm sure there are pensioners dead in Maine or something.

Erm, should I start a "FAP Vermont?" thread? ;-)

What, Ned, you won't wave to me unless you think I'm someone other than who I am? ::flounces off::

the river fleet, Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:30 (twenty-one years ago)

++++BRING POWERBOOKS STOP ROB APPLE STORE STOP++++

Ed (dali), Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh heh. I am ordering the Powerbook on Monday. It should be in my hot little hands by the end of the week! (Bar blizzards and the Green Mountain Boys.)

the river fleet, Saturday, 17 January 2004 22:42 (twenty-one years ago)

What, Ned, you won't wave to me unless you think I'm someone other than who I am? ::flounces off::

All is clear. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Saturday, 17 January 2004 23:59 (twenty-one years ago)

It's 14 days before my birthday, I don't really drink, so don't worry.

jel -- (jel), Sunday, 18 January 2004 13:03 (twenty-one years ago)

It's barely more than two months before my birthday. Do I get bought... no I suppose that is pushing it.

I'll be up for FAPping I expect.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 18 January 2004 20:51 (twenty-one years ago)

It's only six weeks before my birthday: I demand booze!

Llahtuos Kcin (Nick Southall), Sunday, 18 January 2004 20:56 (twenty-one years ago)

uh it would actually be cool if any ilxer's had some free floor-space / sofa-bed action going.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 22:24 (twenty-one years ago)

David, I have a mattress and a sofabed, so you can choose. Anytime, pretty much.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 20 January 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

one month passes...
bbbbbump.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 15 March 2004 01:34 (twenty-one years ago)

hmm i am a bit worried about this what with the glasto ticket issue and all - tickets go on sale at 8pm, right? this could be a problem.

toby (tsg20), Monday, 15 March 2004 07:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh gawd. KarokeFAP ruin beckons.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Monday, 15 March 2004 09:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Aw man, I'm boycotting the P*nt P*t for non-work socials, please no...

Sarah (starry), Monday, 15 March 2004 10:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, Glasto ticket buying is going to make this pretty much a non-starter for more than half the London regulars.

Ricardo (RickyT), Monday, 15 March 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Finally, we can weed out the hippies in our midst.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 15 March 2004 10:10 (twenty-one years ago)

let's all meet at the Easy Everything, buy our tickets there then go to the pub then

stevem (blueski), Monday, 15 March 2004 10:15 (twenty-one years ago)

I shall be buying Glasto tickets as well, sorry Cozen. I would go to EasyEverything but I do not expect the sites to be working properly at all, and can see hours of exasperated refreshing ahead.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 15 March 2004 10:52 (twenty-one years ago)

stupid glastonbury.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 15 March 2004 11:40 (twenty-one years ago)

(cozen, I think they're just setting up a joke for you, shh)

RJG (RJG), Monday, 15 March 2004 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm just looking for something edgy, a little bit hardcore.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 15 March 2004 12:49 (twenty-one years ago)

we could go to that pub you're all barred from.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 15 March 2004 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be up for a FAP, as I am not going near Glastonbury - oddly enough, the combination of loads of hippies, didgeridoo workshops and the likelihood of accidentally seeing the Stereophonics or Travis or some such doesn't entice me.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 13:26 (twenty-one years ago)

me and martin!

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

sitting in a tree (being hugged by some Glasto hippies)

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

But Martin, there will be NAKED PEOPLE!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:00 (twenty-one years ago)

cozen i will definitely still come along *but* i do have to buy glasto tickets. if all goes ok with buying them (haha as if) then i can still make it to the pub by 8:30 anyway.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

to be honest, if you can't get the tickets by 20:02 they'll all have been sold out anyway.

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 16 March 2004 14:48 (twenty-one years ago)

pinefox, are you coming?

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 18:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Do we have a location for this yet? I think their is a critical mass building against the Pint Pot?

Why not just the good old GHS?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 19:54 (twenty-one years ago)

hey i might be able to force some super-special surprise guests along to this!!

or uh oh send them if i have not delivered my manuscript in time —:0

film at 11

mark s (mark s), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 20:25 (twenty-one years ago)

the nipper has a point.

toby (tsg20), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 21:42 (twenty-one years ago)

OK:

Le Fap des poissons d'avril: APRIL 1, GLASSHOUSE STORES, FROM 6PM ONWARDS

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 21:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm going.

the pinefox, Tuesday, 23 March 2004 22:06 (twenty-one years ago)

cozen- don't forget to bring my CDR along.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 22:07 (twenty-one years ago)

shit yeah! I'm on it, julio.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 22:16 (twenty-one years ago)

What's on it?

the beefox, Tuesday, 23 March 2004 22:17 (twenty-one years ago)

cozen is. he just said so.

mark p (Mark P), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

In that case I would like to hear it.

the bluefox, Tuesday, 23 March 2004 22:23 (twenty-one years ago)

In truth I am confused. I didn't think cozen meant that he was on it. Yet he has supposedly recorded something, that maybe I would like to hear, at least until I hear it.

the britfox, Tuesday, 23 March 2004 22:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be there, I expect. I know who the special guests to whom Sinkah refers are! It'll be a real treat!

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 23 March 2004 23:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh no not the Glasshouse. Use other pubs please.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Shush.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, we were not happy with the little corner what we was stuck in at the last one. :-(

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:01 (twenty-one years ago)

let the guessing game begin! martin are these 'special guests' ilxors?

(I don't quite know what's on Cozen's CDR either but no need to say it coz, I like surprises).

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I really thought this was a joke.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Can we have another FAP for the SUPER SURPRISE SPECIAL GUESTS for those of us who will be anxiously watching the Glasto website and therefore late or possibly not there at all? Please?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:06 (twenty-one years ago)

Do the SUPER SURPRISE SPECIAL GUESTS have anything to do with Skidmore's Love Motel? I'm so confused right now...

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:07 (twenty-one years ago)

i predict they will be Lynda Bellingham, Jon Voight and that annoying Scouse llama that used to be on Saturday morning TV many years ago

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:16 (twenty-one years ago)

the glasshouse? again?

BOYCOTT!

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:16 (twenty-one years ago)

You're wrong Steve. I know all the gossip and its actually Jenny Powell, Michael Gove and Otis the Aardvark from CBBC.

I suggest the PRINCESS LOUISE on High Holborn. Big pub, lots of seating and tables, real fire if it's minging outside, Sam Smiths Beer...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Now that sounds proper nice.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yes, Princess Louise, please, it's in spitting distance of my flat, so that's a real plus. Any pub where I don't have to walk past Spain to get home is actually a real plus, come to think of it...

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:19 (twenty-one years ago)

erm Matt, say that if you fancy goinmg there twice in successive weeks hem hem (awaiting confirmation of later FAP in APril)

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:20 (twenty-one years ago)

What, in addition to the one on the 23rd?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Bearing in mind the number of times we have been to the GHS I doubt twice in successive weeks is much for a pub we have never fapped in before (apart from an impromptu three-person FAP a few weeks back).

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:22 (twenty-one years ago)

There is also my birfday innit on the 8th...

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Look should we just shut this fucking message board down and move the entire thing to the pub?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually that's the best idea I've ever had.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Holy moly. I'm escaping to Wales for Easter, so won't be able to make you cake, Dave. Sorry.

xpost yes Matt

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Wait, did I miss something? Nowhere on the 23rd April thread does it mention the Princess Louise. Does it? Now I'm REALLY confused? Where is the one on the 8th, that's booked isn't it? (Even though I won't come down unless I can crash it with IRL people who want to celebrate my birthday.)

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm talking 17th here, look, just give me a second

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:26 (twenty-one years ago)

AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe we should have an ILX ical calendar on iCalshare?

My birfday thread

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

an ILX calendar where people could post what's happening when would be just about the coolest invention in history - and i would build it if i knew PHP

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Pity poor Mr. Noodles, I'm sure he's working on it... ;-)

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:33 (twenty-one years ago)

It can be done.

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:33 (twenty-one years ago)

princess louise is fine with me...

toby (tsg20), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

my friend just told me about this one http://www.fancyapint.com/thepubs/pub4.htm

has anyone been?

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 13:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Have walked down that passage dozens of times trying to shortcut home, but I've never been in the pub.

Psycho Kate (kate), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:00 (twenty-one years ago)

tiny, crowded pub for a FAP? not too great an idea, it's not a bad pub though iirc (only been there once I think)

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes, bit too small for a FAP, does nice pies at the lunchtime mind.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Was just curious, the pies on the website certainly look quite nice,

leigh (leigh), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:15 (twenty-one years ago)

i've been SAYING for ages that we should have an actual calendar, i'm almost tempted to offer to run it manually off blogger (although i may be rub at updating it)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

also i'm not sure it would work on blogger, really it just needs a webpage...

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

a Movable Type one would be good

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 14:40 (twenty-one years ago)

I did try an ILX calendar thread

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 15:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Thread structure badly suited to calendar though. Ordering problems and that.

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

exactly, which is why just a webpage would be suitable. obv. i'm busy tonight, but i'll try and knock something up tomorrow night.

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:03 (twenty-one years ago)

ical-to-php software is available. We could have a page at Icalx which has the ilx calendar on it; alterantyively, someone with .mac can just publish it, surely?

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:11 (twenty-one years ago)

That is not a bad idea. Do you know if the iCal subscription service outputs things in standard vCal format?

Ricardo (RickyT), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

dunno...

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

haha we will end up with multiple calendars thus increasing the confusion rather than alleviating it

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Try iCAl FTP, for pain free web publishing without a webdav server

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.drewfindley.com/findleydesigns/products.html

Ed (dali), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

jeez - macusers, yes their computers are pretty and not run by a processing system desgned by an evil megalomaniac, but golly, they can't organise an orgy in a brothel

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Who wants to orgaqnise it in a brothel - surely you pay for the organisation as part of the service?

Dave B (daveb), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

That's an interesting opinion you have on Mr Jobs there Mr B.

Never worked on an mac project, Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:50 (twenty-one years ago)

and they don't have a decent spell check either ;o)

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:50 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't have any opinion on Mr Jobs , Mr (or Mrs) whoever you are

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:53 (twenty-one years ago)

ok so this is the pub:

http://www.fancyapint.com/thepubs/pub482.htm

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:54 (twenty-one years ago)

It's just you were implying he wasn't an evil megalomaniac. From the evidence I've seen he's easily the equal of Mr Gates in those stakes.

never worked on a mac project, Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:57 (twenty-one years ago)

really? tell me more. I'm fascinated

chris (chris), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 16:58 (twenty-one years ago)

FAP OTM re WCs

i've just realised this is the best pub this could possibly be at, as it's all of two minutes walk from work, so i can escape after quiz and be in the pub with you lot almost instantaneously!

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:00 (twenty-one years ago)

the special guests are jorja fox and jh prynne

prima fassy (mwah), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

nothing that exciting, just the usual wanting his computers to take over the world, refusal to brook compromise, ruling company with iron fist, weird messianical fervour

, Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem you exoticist do you mean nobby the sheep

prima fassy (mwah), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I might make this my one six monthly FAP!

jel -- (jel), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:15 (twenty-one years ago)

yes i do prima, why on earth was i thinking of a llama?

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:17 (twenty-one years ago)

i mean i know they're native to Merseyside but still

stevem (blueski), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 17:17 (twenty-one years ago)

jorja binx.

I'm in.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 24 March 2004 18:26 (twenty-one years ago)

I am going to buy my Glasto ticket in Easyeverything which means that fingers crossed I should be there by 8.30ish.

If anyone is going to say "aah, Easyeverything computers are rubbish for buying things on due to shitty Interweb" then please do so NOW.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 25 March 2004 23:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I'm in london on april 4th or 5th for the best part of the day too.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 26 March 2004 01:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know if Easyeverything 'puters are rubbish or not, but they sure are expensive!

Psycho Kate (kate), Friday, 26 March 2004 08:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I'll be Glasters ticket purchasing also - but won't be very far from the pub if you'll all be there a wee bit l8r.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 26 March 2004 09:48 (twenty-one years ago)

What is the closest Interweb cafe to the Princess Louise? Its a bit of a trek from the EasyEverything on the Strand...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 26 March 2004 10:57 (twenty-one years ago)

There's one off Bloomsbury Square, but I've been trying to keep it a secret coz it's always empty and cheap... sigh. In Pied Bull Yard.

Psycho Kate (kate), Friday, 26 March 2004 10:58 (twenty-one years ago)

easyeverything on TCR?

chris (chris), Friday, 26 March 2004 11:02 (twenty-one years ago)

Er isn't there one actually on High Ho'born? I have an idea I've wandered past one of a morn, but dinnae be quoting me on it, like. I'll have a peek when I'm next down that way. Kate is the best authority on this, I should imagine though.

Sarah (starry), Friday, 26 March 2004 11:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I think I'm in london on april 4th or 5th for the best part of the day too.

footie, sunday 4th april, london - sign up now!

ken c (ken c), Monday, 29 March 2004 12:00 (twenty-one years ago)

that "i think i am" bit should have been in quotes, or italic, sorry.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 29 March 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

I think it's the 5th. : (

no chance of moving the football?

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 29 March 2004 13:11 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm fairly certain the football will be moving yes.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 29 March 2004 14:00 (twenty-one years ago)

The thing is, THE VICAR is NOT going to be around

the finefox, Monday, 29 March 2004 14:39 (twenty-one years ago)

is that the thing?

ken c (ken c), Monday, 29 March 2004 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

so, the louise from 6pm onwards then. I might be a touch late.

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 18:35 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be there, probably before 6.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 18:41 (twenty-one years ago)

David, you know if you need a bed while you're here, just say.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 18:42 (twenty-one years ago)

thanks martin, I got that end sorted though!

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 18:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I'll be there shortly after 7. Looking forward to it!

Markelby (Mark C), Tuesday, 30 March 2004 19:44 (twenty-one years ago)

I may be ill. If not, shall probs be there at some point.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 08:33 (twenty-one years ago)

So bump, basically.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 08:33 (twenty-one years ago)

i might bring some co-workers along after the quiz, so be nice everyone ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 08:39 (twenty-one years ago)

i hope i can find this place but yes if i can then i'm there!

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 09:06 (twenty-one years ago)

It's really easy to find Ken - just left out of Holborn Station onto High Holborn, just past Sainsburys.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 31 March 2004 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Bump.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 07:24 (twenty-one years ago)

might be able to come to this now

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 1 April 2004 07:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I really shouldn't. My liver still hasn't recovered from the ICA on Tuesday night. (Have you ever had anyone buy you drinks because you once gave them a *bad* review? bizarre!) Can I come down and drink only shandy? Do you think?

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 07:41 (twenty-one years ago)

This is all of five minutes walk from your house Kate, you have no excuse!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 07:47 (twenty-one years ago)

oh i would have thought so kate, i think i might be on the wagon myself tonight. considering there wasn't much happening this week i still seem to have drank quite a lot...

also ken, you don't need to get the tube, walk down tottenham court road and then along new oxford street until you get to the bull and mouth, turn right and then left at the bottom of that street and it's about 100 yards along on your right (it's not even as difficult as that makes it seem)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 1 April 2004 07:49 (twenty-one years ago)

The closer the bar is, the lazier I get. If I have to psych myself to get up and go out, it's fine. If I think "Oh, it's just down the road, I can stay and watch one more rubbish telly programme..." then I never end up going out. What time are people getting there? Maybe I'll stop in for a quick drink on the way home from work. So people can laugh at my tie of the day.

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 07:51 (twenty-one years ago)

Return to the land of FAPs that are on a bus-route near me glory... will probably be along to this.

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i might come, after schmoozing with young democrats at the bad on anon.

what's up with me and crap bars this week?

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:22 (twenty-one years ago)

This is on my Piccadilli line ride home, so I will come by before attempted Glasto-ticket-buying...

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:23 (twenty-one years ago)

If you go to the pub before attempting to buy Glasto tickets, you will surely fail.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:24 (twenty-one years ago)

So should I come by right after work as it's on my way, or should I be good and go home first and make HSA his tea?

Or, even weirder, go home for a bit in the middle?

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Get him to make his own bloody tea!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Surely you jest (it's 01/04 after all).

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:39 (twenty-one years ago)

I should actually eat first myself.

(And I PH34R when HSA makes his own tea. Marmite is usually involved and I don't even like being in the flat after it's been consumed, it smells so bad.)

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:40 (twenty-one years ago)

matt and liz OTM

come later. that's when i'll come. maybe.

(convincing, aren't i?)

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Your enthusiasm is so contageous, Colette. ;-)

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:45 (twenty-one years ago)

ooh, are there any FAPs planned for early next week, like tuesday or wednesday?

because then i leave for the states for a couple weeks, and i'll miss things like kate's birthday! boo!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:46 (twenty-one years ago)

I should so move to London.

Sick Nouthall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:48 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think so, but we can always have our own miniFAP or something!

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate do you hate Sick? :)

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:49 (twenty-one years ago)

x-post, I was replying to Colette! Duh!

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:49 (twenty-one years ago)

yay! miniFAP! we can borrow your potential crush's mini ipod and it'll be a mini party!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I hate being Sick.

Sick Nouthall (Nick Southall), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Excellent! What day is better? Probably Tuesday is better for me so I can have a day off to rest my liver before the birthday bash.

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:53 (twenty-one years ago)

collette, have you not seen THE CALENDAR?

now you never need to wonder when the next FAP is, it's there in front of you :)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:54 (twenty-one years ago)

tuesday could work. i'll have to check my diary (I'm at someone else's computer right now-- hopefully we'll have broadband sometime today!)

woo!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Yay, broadband!!! Woooo!

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 08:55 (twenty-one years ago)

you mini-FAP could double as an owl convention, wooo!

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:01 (twenty-one years ago)

We could have it in my bedroom, HSA has loads of stuffed owls in there!

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

More pantomime ghost convention, really. Owls are more 'coo'.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:02 (twenty-one years ago)

that sounds scary.

and besides, owls go 'hoo'. we say 'woo'.

(so that takes stevem off the miniFAP guestlist, no?)

(xpost-- matt is invited)

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate to Steve "yes, there is a FAP going on in my bedroom. Honest."

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:03 (twenty-one years ago)

ACtually, owls are more like "Whoooo Whoooo!" If we had a ghost convention, then Shaggy and Talking Scooby could protect us!

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:04 (twenty-one years ago)

X-post, MATT DC I AM GOING TO HURT YOU IF YOU DO NOT QUIT IT.

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:04 (twenty-one years ago)

what the fuck. owls go woooo. okay?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Teenage American girls go "woooo!" Owls go "Hoooooo!"

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Kate, you have already hurt me. In my heart.

Owls that go 'wooo' are total lamearse owls.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

no they don't. at least, not the way i pronounce 'woo'. it sounds like 'wu' or something. there's a 'h' sound when owls do it.

that sounds dirty.

(xpost)

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Like everything we've posted in the past twenty minutes doesn't sound dirty...?

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:13 (twenty-one years ago)

xpost shaggy would be too busy denying everything to protect anybody!!!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:14 (twenty-one years ago)

ok, you're right.

after living with 4 boys this weekend, my dirty joke cracking has skyrocketed. the chalet had a mental age of about 11.

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:15 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.umich.edu/~archive/msdos/info/birds/owl-face.gif

HWOOOOO (DON'T TRY IT DC)

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Is that a horned owl or a HORNY owl?

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:18 (twenty-one years ago)

stevem, are you fapping tonight?

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:18 (twenty-one years ago)

What's going on? I thought we were talking about owls, now it turns out we were talking about sex all along?

And I saw that sneaky H. Don't think you can get away with shifting ground on this issue.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Steve and I are bring OUTSIDERS!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:19 (twenty-one years ago)

It's just like a bubblegum record, isn't it? ;-)

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:19 (twenty-one years ago)

good. BECAUSE I'M KICKING HIS ASS.

or going 'wooo' and then 'hoooo' so he can be learned.

(this is at the princess louise, not at glasshouse stores, right?)

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Princess Louise, yes.

I need to know the wherabouts of the nearest EasyEverything. This is very important.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Quite frankly the only way this can be cleared up is if someone brings an owl to the pub. Preferably a live one.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:23 (twenty-one years ago)

I am angered by this owl-speak heresy. I may not come now.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:24 (twenty-one years ago)

::stuffs fist in mouth to stop making double entendre comment::

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

the one at TCR is prolly still the closest

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:28 (twenty-one years ago)

the easyeverything, that is, not the owl.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Look, Cozen and Surprise Guests! This is the sort of cool thing we argue about at FAPs! Aren't you excited?!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:30 (twenty-one years ago)

i think cozen is better than surprise guests

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:32 (twenty-one years ago)

will you four GET A ROOM ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:36 (twenty-one years ago)

What four? Leave me out of this!

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:42 (twenty-one years ago)

The four owlspeople of the ruinapocalypso, of course.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:45 (twenty-one years ago)

the FAP four

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 09:52 (twenty-one years ago)

aw i didn't mean like that kate, but you are encouraging the others ;)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 1 April 2004 10:10 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm just waiting for A Midsummer Night's FAP, etc.

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 10:13 (twenty-one years ago)

HI DERE!

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 1 April 2004 10:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Too full of pox to come along, me :(

sarah full of pox, Thursday, 1 April 2004 10:26 (twenty-one years ago)

TURN TOWARDS THE PUB, OH POXY FULE!!!

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 10:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I am booking Glasto tickets from my office and will be there afterwards. Matt- if you want to pop in to book via our puters, let me know.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 1 April 2004 10:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Where's your office?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 10:56 (twenty-one years ago)

London's trendy Clerkenwell

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 1 April 2004 11:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Nah way man, I want to be well for the weekend, getting thoroughly sick of pox! This is a shame though as I haven't been to the Princess Louise in ages and would like to meet up with the special guests, like, who I hope understand that I am really p1ss3d off at the pox :)

sarah of pox, Thursday, 1 April 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I now expect to be there at around 5.30, in case anyone else is considering coming early (ha, I'm not sure whether this is encouragement or discouragement towards that).

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 1 April 2004 11:52 (twenty-one years ago)

good. BECAUSE I'M KICKING HIS ASS.
or going 'wooo' and then 'hoooo' so he can be learned.

-- colette (a2lett...), April 1st, 2004.

colette don't fall for it! it's all just part of stevem's ploy to get the ladeez make animal noises to him!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Dude, we've been had. And I was *SO* trying to avoid that thread, as well. :-(

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 11:56 (twenty-one years ago)

If Glasto ticket buying goes well, I'll probably be along to this later. I've got work drinks beforehand but am intending to use the ticket buying as an excuse to nip off.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 1 April 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

i've just been told that owls go 'twit twoooo' or something like that...WTF?

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Told by whom? The village idiot?

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:09 (twenty-one years ago)

owls in 20 languages

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

They *do* go twit twooo.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:11 (twenty-one years ago)

English (USA): hoo
English (GB): tu-whit, tu-whoo

and note
Russian: sova ukhaet

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

Russian owls are far more intellectual

ought to be there not that the FAP is the topic of conversation, except might not be as I've remembered something.

Ed (dali), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Er, what?

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Korean: buung-buung

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:27 (twenty-one years ago)

Who ever heard of anything so ridiculous as an owl speaking Esperanto?! Honestly...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:34 (twenty-one years ago)

hu? i ask you! hu! hu!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Who let the owls out? Hu? Hu? Hooooooooooo?

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyway, none of the owls go 'wooo' and that proves me right and Steve wrong. So Steve, next time you're in Japan or the Ukraine don't go round going "woo" to random owls because THEY WON'T UNDERSTAND YOU.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Sigh. If the guy doesn't turn up to fix my computer soon, I'm just going to go home and be in the pub by 3.30pm.

Would you hire a database programmer and then give them a computer which DOES NOT RUN THAT DATABASE?!?!? I ask you...

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

you can stuck your Eurasian Tawnys up your bollocks mate

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

AT WHAT POINT CAN I JUST GIVE UP AND GO HOME?!?!?

This is starting to seriously not be funny any more. I mean, there is a time beyond which, even if he does turn up, it won't be fixed in time for me to do any work. Maybe I should just go home and come back tomorrow.

ACtually, I'm going to leave a note on my computer saying call/email when this computer is fixed, or I'm not coming back in... grrrr....

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.incrediblepeople.com/image/great-horned-owl.jpg

GO AND TAKE A NICE LONG WALK, THE GREAT HORNED OWL THAT GOES 'WOOOO' BECAUSE IT IS KING BADASS OF THE OWL KINGDOM COMMANDS YOU

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm in Southark. The only place I'm walking is HOME.

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

of course owls go "twit twoo", what's the matter with you septics??

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:11 (twenty-one years ago)

So much is the matter. Then there's that ad here where the owl just makes a kind of "cre-eak?" noise, not any ooooo sound at all.

(and I hate to interrupt this owl-talk thing, but I will not be at the FAP tonight due to flu-like symptoms and a funding application that is due tomorrow. Double yuck.)

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Flulike symptoms, oh no!

In more bad news, the guy has just fixed my computer so I have to stay here the rest of the afternoon. Wait, no, that's good news! Hang on, I'm confused...

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

all yous who are illin', remember that ALCOHOL KILLS GERMS

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Unfortunately it'll also kill my chance of getting supplementary funding for my third year. :/

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:40 (twenty-one years ago)

or improve your chances by letting ilx literary masters help you filling in your application.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:42 (twenty-one years ago)

I know very well how things are 'filled in' at London FAPS and really don't think Sarah needs the phrase QUIMZTASTELUVLY written across her application, quite frankly.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Funding form: What is your research on?
ILX literary masters: The life and works of Sam Smith, brewer.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:47 (twenty-one years ago)

haha matt, especially as I'm applying to the Brit. Federation of WOMEN Graduates.

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Someone needs to bring a crossword tonight, btw.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:56 (twenty-one years ago)

will you please fuck off with those crosswords? they're shit

thanks in advance, g

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:57 (twenty-one years ago)

they're so confusing!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Madchen that sounds better than my idea. Right now it's:
Funding form: What is your research on?
Me: uuuhhh, I don't feel so good. Can I have some juice?

(x-post.)

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 1 April 2004 13:58 (twenty-one years ago)

It never gets done when I mention it anyway, Gareth.

I like the idea that G was watching this thread eagerly, ready to pounce at the first mention.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:00 (twenty-one years ago)

THE INTERNET IS WORKING AGAIN! HURRAH AND TWIT TWOO!

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Yay, Colette's internet is working!!!

(I am never going to get a lick of work done, ever again. I just know it!)

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Have you noticed little lambs tend to say ma-a-a-a rather than ba-a-a-a?

I was about to take Matt DC to task for suggesting that Sarah gets filled in at FAPs, but I think I may have misread it.

(sgs, get well soon sweetie)

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:09 (twenty-one years ago)

does anyone have a link to a picture of john kerry's daughters (not naked, please)? i don't want to walk up to them tonight and say 'hi, do you want to register to vote?' that would be embarrasing.

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:11 (twenty-one years ago)

this thread hasn't reached 300 posts yet and it's less than 2 hours before the FAP. i'm disappointed in us all.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:11 (twenty-one years ago)

And I have dyed my hair. So you can all see the New Anna Hair.

Apparently it makes me look:
1) Like a sectretary in a 1940's film.
2) More indie
3) 'Wow really good' - thanks to Charlotte sitting opposite me for that one.
4) Like I am'channeling the spirit of Rita Hayworth'

New hair, new hair.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:12 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm so excited anna! i might come just for that!

(and the owls. that's made my afternoon all giggly)

colette (a2lette), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

That's it, I'm going home first, to make HSA his tea and pick up the owls.

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Serious question, why would there be naked pics of John Kerry's daughters?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Anna, your hair sounds extremely dangerous.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.freakytrigger.co.uk/pictures/owl.jpg

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

No Anna, your hair sounds cool!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:24 (twenty-one years ago)

Awww, that is a very cute owl.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:25 (twenty-one years ago)

Colette - are John Kerry's daughters in town?

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:26 (twenty-one years ago)

i want an owl now. a real one.

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:27 (twenty-one years ago)

HSA has a mate who rescues owls that are mistakenly given to kids as pets after the whole Harry Potter craze... you might get one off him, but they are big, scary birds!

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Dave - they're the Secret Special Guests.

http://www.salon.com/mwt/feature/2004/02/03/kerry_heinz/story.jpg

God, the one on the right looks like Kerry in drag. It's terrifying.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

The thought of Kerry in drag gives me the horn.

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:29 (twenty-one years ago)

That's a joke, BTW.

Why have the Kerry daughters appeared on a FAP thread?

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Fancy A President('s Daughter)?

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

A Mr. T. Hand was at college with one of them, so he said. Which, Tracer?

(Oh and as for tonight, there is a Martin Margiela party I'm to attend with my scourge-of-the-tabloids friend Steph, plus an art opening for my pals Tim and Sue, so I might be able to pop in for a bit as an interlude)

suzy (suzy), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Will ILX men implode thinking about...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:32 (twenty-one years ago)

is that really them?

one of them is in town. that's what i'm going to tonight.

matt, i just figured that if i asked for pictures, i'd get something scary that i didn't want to see, that's all.

the owl picture is the best thing i've seen all day!

(xpost x3)

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha ha, the owl reads Matthew Collings?

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

the owl even looks like Tom, sort of...

stevem (blueski), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Alan more so. Sadly he doesn't have his arm round a bottle of Tico Tico.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:36 (twenty-one years ago)

I love that owl.

Anna (Anna), Thursday, 1 April 2004 14:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Screw all of this. I'm going down the pub. See you in a few!

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Just to let you know, and make it public - a friend of mine who is a bona fide witch has told me that she has foreseen that good things will happen to me tonight.

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

That'll be another snog off Matt then.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

All the fun happens when I'm not there :(

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

aw :( sarah btw you have to tell me all about the museum depot next time i see you.

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Sarah, I was assuming the good things would happen when I got home ;)

(conveniently ignoring the fact that you're fluey and miserable :()

Markelby (Mark C), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:49 (twenty-one years ago)

I will Ken! I took lots of photos, too, and the archivists even took me aside on a special tour of the photo conservation room and everything, just because I expressed interest, it was great! They were psyched about my enthusiasm for the escalator--it was really something to see. Both the escalator and the psychedness.

(uh, x-post there...)

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

COR! I want to see Tube museum pictures!

Get well soon and knock 'em dead tomorrow sgs.

Liz :x (Liz :x), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Is that the Acton Town Depot? I have been there...

Dave B (daveb), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:56 (twenty-one years ago)

wow that sounded so good. wish i could have gone! i might try and go next month sometime now (i'll need to actually take a day off for it now though) oh man the spiral escalator.. i think i walked past the void that it had left just last night!

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 15:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes it is Dave. Ken, I think the next open day is on a Saturday in June, otherwise you'll have to go on one of the Friday tours. My tour had about 15 people on it, partly to keep any strays from wandering off and pilfering memorabilia, so no wonder they sell out.

sgs (sgs), Thursday, 1 April 2004 16:00 (twenty-one years ago)

I cannot follow what is now happening here, on this thread.

But I still want to come, to the FAP.

the bellefox, Thursday, 1 April 2004 17:21 (twenty-one years ago)

and the fox shall go to the ball

gareth (gareth), Thursday, 1 April 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

You never know.

At this rate the pub will be shut.

the slowfox, Thursday, 1 April 2004 17:45 (twenty-one years ago)

:-(

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 1 April 2004 18:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Gah! I will nevah know who these mystery people are the rate things are going.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 1 April 2004 18:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Well, for the first time in recorded history, I said I was going home early, and I did. Mystery guests had not turned up, though Cozen had, and Pinefox and Matt had obviously just given up on getting tix and went back down the pub.

I got convinced that HSA had not taken his keys (we have a houseguest, grrr) and was sitting out in the hall waiting for me to get home. Of course, he wasn't, the place is deserted, and now I feel stupid for leaving the pub. Boo hiss, etc.

Maybe I should grab some owls and go back...

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 19:05 (twenty-one years ago)

When come back bring owls.

Ricardo (RickyT), Thursday, 1 April 2004 19:11 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry, I forgot the owls. :-(

Super-Kate (kate), Thursday, 1 April 2004 21:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:53 (twenty-one years ago)

shugah that ws cozen

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Hi Cozen! It was nice to meet you however briefly, I was very stressed cos of the tickets nonsense. Yes to another FAP I hope.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 1 April 2004 22:54 (twenty-one years ago)

hi sorry i didn't actually speak to you cozen but i saw you from miles away

ken c (ken c), Thursday, 1 April 2004 23:19 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry i didn't talk to you cozen even though i was at the same table as you, tickets stress + the boozing that kicked offin me => i could only rant at ppl i already knew.

in fact sorry to everyone! i was a bit hyper and drunk, i fear.

also, zemko - were those clothes really all from charity shops?? if so then where?? i swear if i went charity shopping full time i would not find such fine threads.

toby (tsg20), Thursday, 1 April 2004 23:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry I was so moody and flappy. It had nothing to do with tickets or anything. HSA eventually turned up. Right around the time that I wanted to go to sleep, with drunken mate in tow, who wanted to sit up all night eating curry and talking very loudly.

I will be taking applications for a new boyfriend next week.

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 2 April 2004 06:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry to miss this chaps, but interview is STILL TO COME this morning and I am bricking it...

Sarah (starry), Friday, 2 April 2004 06:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Was this the most apologetic FAP ever?

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 2 April 2004 06:56 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm sorry.

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 2 April 2004 06:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Me too.

sgs (sgs), Friday, 2 April 2004 07:00 (twenty-one years ago)

me three

ken c (ken c), Friday, 2 April 2004 07:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I have nothing to apologise for.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 2 April 2004 07:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Except maybe not talking to Cozen as much as I should've. I was a bit jittery post ticket disaster.

Good night nonetheless I thought.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 2 April 2004 07:05 (twenty-one years ago)

Did Cozen just sit in the corner and cry all night then?

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 2 April 2004 07:08 (twenty-one years ago)

I really hope that The Mystery Guest (tm) turns up here and apologises for not turning up.

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 2 April 2004 07:14 (twenty-one years ago)

nb stevie + gareth: see lightning bolt videos here

http://laserbeast.com/mp3s/index.html

maybe that will make more sense than i did.

toby (tsg20), Friday, 2 April 2004 07:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Am I just unpopular or am I actually invisible?

Hungover insecurities...

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 2 April 2004 08:07 (twenty-one years ago)

http://www.freakytrigger.co.uk/pictures/fatman.jpg

Next time I'll get a better shot of him but the radiant glow is quite pleasant I think.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Friday, 2 April 2004 08:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry I missed everyone. I was kidnapped by fashion editors and ferried across town to Modern Art, Inc in a black cab driven by impostor as had no clue about Hackney, idiot. Ed joined us at the ironic Hackney Road poledancing pub afterparty featuring quite amiable strippers (going around with gallerist who pleaded to assembled artphaggage, 'please help these girls make some money!')

I will now pause while those of you who know Ed get your heads around the idea of him sitting in the stripper pub in a booth with a bunch of gawping gay-listers from NYC clubs and London galleries (there are a lot of jet-trash dignitaries over for various Viv Westwood parties). Lovely free booze though.

My agent friend Susan (gives Texas a good name) and her fiancee are stoked when I tell them there's a Margiela party in a derelict house in Belgrave Square, so we herd some fucking cats and finally ruck up with my friend Steph (one of the fashion editor kidnappers) and Corinne and Mark (nice photographer and her partner). I'm told by a model boy who's been party-stalking me that the gay lawyer I was talking to at Westwood is going out with someone...ewewewew I've just remembered, it's Nicky Haslam. Bleurgh.
We don't stay long; Ed says the house reminds him of a building at his old school, and even though there is tons of lovely free booze we bail with Steph, who also has to work in the morn.

This morning looks great. Just got off phone with person re. job interview, calling to give me a bit of advantageous briefing before first round of interviews, and I'm the last person on. I do not envy Ed his morning work heid.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 2 April 2004 09:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Dr. C (Dr. C), Friday, 2 April 2004 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

suzy is this a deliberate brett easton ellis parody?

toby (tsg20), Friday, 2 April 2004 09:51 (twenty-one years ago)

The Nipper's camera is magical and makes everyone look much more gorgeous than usual. kudos Sir kudos.

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 April 2004 09:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Gee, thanks, Stevem. I guess the only way to make me gorgeous is to make me invisible.

Now I'm even more depressed...

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 2 April 2004 09:53 (twenty-one years ago)

invisibility is a beautiful thing, don't knock it. i wish i were invisible, but that's another (pervy) story we haven't got time for.

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 April 2004 09:58 (twenty-one years ago)

Toby: yeah yeah, all it's missing is that 'white lines on the coffee table, White Lines on the stereo' moment Ellis is usually kind enough to provide. And of course there's nothing upthread about doing speedballs, either. I don't get to Belgravia that often, usually - the Margiela party vibe was minimalist with drinks in yr. classic white water-cooler cups, olives, and some quite unctuous salami. But the 'house' had been converted into office space and may now be turning back, hence the resemblance to Ed's school.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:05 (twenty-one years ago)

that sounds fabulous suzy but i doubt it can compare to the utter misery and despair we endured in the Great Glasto Ticket Fiasco

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:09 (twenty-one years ago)

Some of us are still mired in that one...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:14 (twenty-one years ago)

That thread is giving me the PHEAR.

I have never been to Glastonbury and it's everything to do with the lunar cycle and nothing to do with a lack of mod cons as I'd be 'working' and therefore have access to a toilet upgrade at the very least. Ed thinks I hate camping, but I don't at all!

suzy (suzy), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:15 (twenty-one years ago)

The toilets aren't that upgraded backstage Suzy. By night time there's pretty much no difference.

Anna (Anna), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:20 (twenty-one years ago)

Bleurgh. Though I am not a squeamish indie toilet user, sod's law dictates the only thing for the screams of an angry uterus is some kind of contact with hot water, and also dictates I'm painfully ragging it whenever it happens. Blame the moooooooon.

suzy (suzy), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:25 (twenty-one years ago)

i wonder if anybody ever brings their own chamberpot to glasto and just empty them in the loos.

ken c (ken c), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Trying to talk sense into the Glasto folks is like shouting down the tide. Honestly.

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Fun limps on without Kate or Mark C shocker.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Some people's idea of fun is better than other people's idea of fun.

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:35 (twenty-one years ago)

exactly

ken c (ken c), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:36 (twenty-one years ago)

And I, in my infinite superiority, will be at home with a nice clean shower.

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:38 (twenty-one years ago)

while the rest of ILX are in a field in somerset dancing around a giant statue of our god FREYA

Rob Bolton (Rob Bolton), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

How nice for you.

Super-Kate (kate), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Speak for yourself Rob. The rival Cult Of The Missing S will smash your false idol.

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:42 (twenty-one years ago)

am i insane that i'm now going to both glastonbury AND roskilde, which is the following weekend? at least at roskilde i have a private room at a hostel with a shower and stuff...

colette (a2lette), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:47 (twenty-one years ago)

a guy at work has just become the latest beneficiary of freya!! another guy is still trying i might let him know of the "no s" as well.

xpost colette is a festival-addict!

ken c (ken c), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:47 (twenty-one years ago)

can't quite drop as many names as suzy there but i did bump into Jorge from The Salon in the virgin megastore beforehand...

andy

koogs (koogs), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:48 (twenty-one years ago)

koogs you'll make the Excelsior LOL thread yet

stevem (blueski), Friday, 2 April 2004 10:49 (twenty-one years ago)

(um, aren't glasto and roskilde usually *the same* weekend?)

CarsmileSteve (CarsmileSteve), Friday, 2 April 2004 11:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I had a great time, not least due to The Pinefox waxing extraordinarily enthusiastic about a comic I edited many years ago called St Swithin's Day - "one of the key texts of my youth" "I can't overstate its importance to me" "a really beautiful comic" - which delighted me hugely. And of course Anna's new hair, which looks great, and seeing Cozen again, and everyone else too.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Friday, 2 April 2004 11:46 (twenty-one years ago)

Freya is soon getting an unbeliever in me...

Pete (Pete), Friday, 2 April 2004 11:47 (twenty-one years ago)

Anna's hair is REMARKABLE isn't it?

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Friday, 2 April 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

roskilde is one weekend later than glastonbury for some reason this year. i want to go!

lauren (laurenp), Friday, 2 April 2004 13:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Oranges are best for a cold.

the pinefox, Friday, 2 April 2004 13:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Anna, fab hair!

I look awful in those pictures up there. : /

Blame the jetlag, Coz. (Besides, you don't look any worse than I would after 5 hours of FAP drinkies.)

Nichole Graham (Nichole Graham), Monday, 5 April 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

I knew this was a joke.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 5 April 2004 22:29 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 07:57 (twenty-one years ago)

There are no second acts in Glaswegian lives.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 08:36 (twenty-one years ago)

ken c (ken c), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 09:25 (twenty-one years ago)

RJG: I'm not even going through them.

I am still.

the pinefox, Tuesday, 6 April 2004 15:42 (twenty-one years ago)

now, I am still, I realise that gareth isn't being fair.

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 6 April 2004 16:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, RJG.

You know how you never reply to my e-mails?

I am not saying that you should - honest, I am not. I am just interested to know: do you actually RECEIVE them?

the fairfox, Wednesday, 7 April 2004 12:58 (twenty-one years ago)

I do reply : (((((((((((

I will reply, to the last one, before tomorrow.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 7 April 2004 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)
