I am back in London (after too long! :) ) for a week or so from Sep 3, and I was wondering what I should fit into my schedule apart from the obligatory Oyster-car contemplation and Edgware-type bizznizz (minigolf is the new tech-house. I already mentioned Villalobos on Saturday, but I may be attending the dinner party (that's right, fool) of a friend who recently became a qualified osteopath. Also Damo Suzuki at The Spitz the week after. What else is happening? Please note-I do not really enjoy retro musical theatre or Disney characters on ice skates.

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 30 August 2004 01:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Oyster Card - SEE what a foreign concept this is to me? Whygodwhy?

I hate HTML.

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 30 August 2004 01:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Tour the Raisin Bran factory.
Oh wait, that's not the London you mean, is it?

Huck, Monday, 30 August 2004 01:32 (twenty-one years ago)

No, not the wacky Canadian London!

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 30 August 2004 01:32 (twenty-one years ago)

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 30 August 2004 01:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Also it is faux-Japanese. Even gygax might feel at home!

adam. (nordicskilla), Monday, 30 August 2004 01:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha! People cared more when they thought you were going to Cdn Ldn. Nobody cares about UK Ldn!

Huck, Monday, 30 August 2004 01:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Shhh...the luvvies will hear you and cry.

Fancy a breakfast, anyone?

Jimmybommy JimmyK'KANG (Nick Southall), Monday, 30 August 2004 21:37 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry dude, in Manchester & hungover if I get my way.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 19:15 (twenty-one years ago)

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

I guess they are very "stevem"!

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 19:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, I need to come up with an excuse to make my maiden voyage to Real Actual Londong.

OMG that extra "g" was an accident but fuck if I'm gonna delete it now.

nickalicious (nickalicious), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 19:18 (twenty-one years ago)

Your excuse is called "the Notting Hill Carnival", but you just missed it.

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 19:19 (twenty-one years ago)

adam -- I intend to but I'll see how busy I get with things that weekend.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 19:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Also in addition to Friday there are not one but two FAPs going on over that longish weekend (but you know this already).

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 19:23 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes - I am flexible, am leaving for Barcelona early Tues so maybe I will favour the Sunday event?

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 19:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Plus I get to drive a NISSAN MICRA again...hooray!

adam. (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 31 August 2004 19:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Shall we do this again?

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Monday, 22 August 2005 15:49 (twenty years ago)

I have taken multiple measures to avoid a repeat of this fiasco:

Lost Passports

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Monday, 22 August 2005 15:51 (twenty years ago)

Oh, that was exciting, though.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 22 August 2005 15:53 (twenty years ago)

fabric on the 9th sounds quite tempting.

i am in montreal from 10th-17th, so i am keen for cool stuff to happen before the 10th...

toby (tsg20), Monday, 22 August 2005 20:05 (twenty years ago)

fabric on the 9th sounds quite tempting.

i am in montreal from 10th

hmm i can suddenly see a potential difficulty here :-(

toby (tsg20), Monday, 22 August 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

Is that Carl Craig and Akufen? Or is is Tiefschwarz?

I'll be in Berlin then, I think! :(

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Monday, 22 August 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

ambrose (ambrose), Monday, 22 August 2005 20:41 (twenty years ago)

No. I don't own any!

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Monday, 22 August 2005 20:43 (twenty years ago)

I might also be "trying Glasgow".

I'm ready to leave now. Why do I have to wait? And Run The Road 2 is being released to coincide with my visit!

Adam In Real Life (nordicskilla), Sunday, 28 August 2005 19:55 (twenty years ago)

Vitalic and 2ManyDJs at Fabric? This must be done.

The 17th is the weekend I am attempting to fly Ronan over. Ronan, come to Poptimism!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 28 August 2005 21:07 (twenty years ago)

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Monday, 29 August 2005 03:23 (twenty years ago)

i will be in the LDN the end of November. I know I'm not adamRL but I felt this was as good a place as any to ask if anyone knows of anything going on from the 11/20-12/5

kyle (akmonday), Wednesday, 31 August 2005 22:57 (twenty years ago)

I recommend Kyle!

ONLY ONE DAY TO GO

what should I expect?

I don't doubt it, my friend, I don't doubt it (nordicskilla), Thursday, 1 September 2005 17:58 (twenty years ago)

pigeons.

you forgot about pigeons, didnt you?

where are you staying?

charltonlido (gareth), Thursday, 1 September 2005 18:22 (twenty years ago)

I don't notice pigeons here as much as I did in London.

I'm staying in the same place pretty much every visitor to London stays - Edgware!

I don't doubt it, my friend, I don't doubt it (nordicskilla), Thursday, 1 September 2005 18:39 (twenty years ago)

I remember last year, I strode into Heathrow off of the plane and I heard a proper London accent for the first time in a year and a half. It was a guy driving one of those little airport cars, and I wanted to say "I LOVE YOU LITTLE CAR MAN". But I didn't.

I don't doubt it, my friend, I don't doubt it (nordicskilla), Thursday, 1 September 2005 18:41 (twenty years ago)

Also, my parents are thinking of moving to Highgate of all places.

I don't doubt it, my friend, I don't doubt it (nordicskilla), Thursday, 1 September 2005 18:45 (twenty years ago)

highgate is wicked
whats a little airport car? that sounds wicked too

ambrose (ambrose), Thursday, 1 September 2005 19:24 (twenty years ago)

THE EDGE OF NOWHERE more like.

Be sure to feed adam snadwiches.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Thursday, 1 September 2005 20:50 (twenty years ago)

It's really fucking humid here.

What we did yesterday - got in around 2pm not having slept in almost 24 hours, slept until 9 and, not having a car (because my brother took it) and feeling somewhat disoriented, we walked down the road in darkness until we found a Tesco Metro, which we proceeded to tour for a good half an hour (English supermarkets, fascinating!) before buying an eclair (her) and an egg and cress sandwich (me) and eating them in a bus stop somewhere on the Edgware road. As we sat in this piss-soaked transport shelter at almost midnight and ate our Tesco-brand comestibles, I remarked on how I always know where to take Sarah for a fun Saturday night out.

Adam in Edgware (nordicskilla), Sunday, 4 September 2005 05:31 (twenty years ago)

so, you're not coming to glasgow?

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 4 September 2005 11:08 (twenty years ago)

are you coming to the fap on tuesday?

toby (tsg20), Sunday, 4 September 2005 11:19 (twenty years ago)

And have you been awake all night?

beanz (beanz), Monday, 5 September 2005 07:45 (twenty years ago)

Adam! Brilliant. I had missed this totally. I refuse to go to Fabric, but come to the FAP.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 5 September 2005 08:58 (twenty years ago)

oh this will be awesome: come to fabric AND the fap, adam!

in fact, everyone come to fabric. I am hoping to gather a big crew.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 5 September 2005 09:06 (twenty years ago)

Sorry Lex, I hate Fabric for reasons that have stopped existing and now fall under bllind prejudice. However, I will not be going, even for Vitallic.

Anna (Anna), Monday, 5 September 2005 09:17 (twenty years ago)

I hope Vitalic's laptop does not break for you guys, as it did here on Saturday at the Electric Picnic.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 5 September 2005 09:31 (twenty years ago)

man that guy has bad luck with his laptops.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 5 September 2005 09:38 (twenty years ago)

i nearly wrote 'bald luck' there.

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Monday, 5 September 2005 09:38 (twenty years ago)

the last time Vitalic was in a London club his laptop got STOLEN.

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 5 September 2005 09:39 (twenty years ago)

I'm Sealing on Friday and will miss Vitalic. I think I'm destined never to see him, ever :(

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 5 September 2005 10:08 (twenty years ago)

me too, matt :-(

toby (tsg20), Monday, 5 September 2005 11:38 (twenty years ago)

hello.

i can't make it to glasgow, rjg. sorry.

what FAP????

I met Beanz last night! I owe him a drink.

Adam in Edgware (nordicskilla), Monday, 5 September 2005 23:44 (twenty years ago)

that's okay

RJG (RJG), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 03:02 (twenty years ago)

uh, so i randomly bumped into Spencer Chow at a liquor store in SF. i've never met him in real life before, but recognized him and introduced myself. he said he was getting drinks with you, adam, tomorrow and that he'd have you call me. uh.....?

JAXON (jaxon), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 04:15 (twenty years ago)

it's so sad what's happened to spencer after he started smoking the crack

kyle (akmonday), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 04:57 (twenty years ago)

Adam - Cis (& Pete's) Birthday FAP : 6th September , you know where etc etc

Matt DC (Matt DC), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 06:58 (twenty years ago)

Strange.

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 15:05 (twenty years ago)

Oh dear. I guess Spencer must have left me a voicemail.

I CAN'T HEAR YOU SPENCER.

Adam in Edgware (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 17:05 (twenty years ago)

And I'm not at the FAP, obv. I have been desperately trying to catch up with everyone and it's really hard!

But I'll still get to an ILX thing before I leave, I promise. Poptimism at the very least, but if there's any FAPs next week I'll try and come.

I really, really want to go to Tomas Andersson/Nathan Fake on Saturday at Isssst if anyone else is going, though I also have separate invites to parties in Hackney and Shoreditch the same night. What's girl to do?

oh and i'm off to Berlin in about 8 hours.

Adam in Edgware (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 17:10 (twenty years ago)

parties

charltonlido (gareth), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 17:14 (twenty years ago)

Are you going to get grime-y Adam?

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 17:18 (twenty years ago)

I have been! Enough to shower twice a day!

Adam in Edgware (nordicskilla), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 17:37 (twenty years ago)

: /

hope you have a good time in LDN!

cozen (Cozen), Tuesday, 6 September 2005 18:06 (twenty years ago)

?

terry lennox. (gareth), Tuesday, 13 September 2005 12:01 (twenty years ago)

Is Adam in Berlin right now?

This is like last year - he is with us but never seen :(

Sociah T Azzahole (blueski), Tuesday, 13 September 2005 12:13 (twenty years ago)

Oh dear. I guess Spencer must have left me a voicemail.

I CAN'T HEAR YOU SPENCER.

I know, I figured it out right after I left you the message. I ran into jaxon in the mission!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Tuesday, 13 September 2005 15:46 (twenty years ago)

three months pass...
Is it foolish of me to book a trip back for the beginning of July in the vain hope that England will, you know, actually progress past the quarter finals?

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:43 (nineteen years ago)

Otherwise May looks likely, because I will become a 28 year-old.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:43 (nineteen years ago)

that sounds old

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:53 (nineteen years ago)

good luck, I mean

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:54 (nineteen years ago)

that sounds cynical

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:54 (nineteen years ago)

Good luck to Scotland, too.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:54 (nineteen years ago)

(I hope they all have a nice kip)

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:55 (nineteen years ago)

Really though, I like Scotland.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:55 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, it ain't bad

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:56 (nineteen years ago)

it's better than that - it's good.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:56 (nineteen years ago)

it wasn't about football when I typed "good luck", btw

crosspost

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:56 (nineteen years ago)

i will be 28 in May too. we have so much in common.

Sororah T Massacre (blueski), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:57 (nineteen years ago)

it doesn't sound so old, now

my birthday's in march

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 16:58 (nineteen years ago)

Gemini, steve?

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:01 (nineteen years ago)

i feel so old, again

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:03 (nineteen years ago)

I bet you're not even old enough to be cozen's dad

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:03 (nineteen years ago)

Do you still owe me a drink adam? If so, come soon.

beanz (beanz), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:04 (nineteen years ago)

older than adamrl and stevem

:(

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:04 (nineteen years ago)

Do you still owe me a drink adam? If so, come soon.

Do I? That wouldn't surprise me!

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:05 (nineteen years ago)

they're both older than they act, for sure, but, in reality, they are quite young

crosspost

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:06 (nineteen years ago)

what on earth does that mean?

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:07 (nineteen years ago)

Of course it's not foolish. Who wants to be in California for the World Cup anyway?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:07 (nineteen years ago)

sorry

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:07 (nineteen years ago)

I think Matt is right.

I've been watching games at 8 in the morning here! In a pub!

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:08 (nineteen years ago)

Taurus, Adam

Mark P struck me as spritely, when we first (and last) met.

Am I older than I act? This sounds like an insult, but could well be a compliment.

Sororah T Massacre (blueski), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:08 (nineteen years ago)

I thought Mark was...you know, about my age.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:09 (nineteen years ago)

I think he still is, really.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:09 (nineteen years ago)

I was being silly, again -- I do apologise

you're all pretty young and act appropriately, I think

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:10 (nineteen years ago)

Do you still owe me a drink adam? If so, come soon.

Do I? That wouldn't surprise me!

You said you did upthread... Shame you did buy me a few since then

beanz (beanz), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:11 (nineteen years ago)

I think RJG was saying that we still act more like 26 year olds. It's time to grow up.

Sororah T Massacre (blueski), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:11 (nineteen years ago)

We can't go on being playboys.

Sororah T Massacre (blueski), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:11 (nineteen years ago)

turned 28 in november

mark p (Mark P), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:12 (nineteen years ago)

Over here, I only know, you know, OLD people...like kyle and Alex in SF.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:13 (nineteen years ago)

28 is late 20s, which is much older than mid-20s.

beanz (beanz), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:13 (nineteen years ago)

I better hurry up and start enjoying myself

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:14 (nineteen years ago)

I'd like to offer RJG some wisdom...bit I have none.

adamrl (nordicskilla), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:15 (nineteen years ago)

RJG you seem older sometimes because you seem v well travelled and knowledgeable.

that's pretty funny Mark! to feel that much older, i mean. ridiculous!

do try and come over for the World Cup tho Adam. i might be in Germany when you do, although i haven't sorted that out yet.

Sororah T Massacre (blueski), Thursday, 12 January 2006 17:15 (nineteen years ago)

28 is late 20s, which is much older than mid-20s.
