You're one in a million. Really.

This is the Thread Where I Say Pt 35: I'll Buy You a Jet Plane, Baby

luna (luna.c), Friday, 5 August 2005 17:41 (twenty years ago)

I'm several in a million. But I move in mysterious ways.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 5 August 2005 17:44 (twenty years ago)

OMG! The honor of helping name a thread!! I am unworthy, your Lunacy, of such a distinction.

M. White (Miguelito), Friday, 5 August 2005 17:46 (twenty years ago)

Is this where Mandee hides lately?

Remy (x Jeremy), Friday, 5 August 2005 17:59 (twenty years ago)

It's where we all hide. Why, I post nowhere else on the Internet now.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 5 August 2005 18:00 (twenty years ago)

I post everywhere on the internet except here.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Friday, 5 August 2005 19:46 (twenty years ago)

yay new thread! this is usually the only place I post on Ilxors. But many of my favorites have been missing lately.

Miss Misery (thatgirl), Friday, 5 August 2005 19:51 (twenty years ago)

FLYING CATS

mookieproof (mookieproof), Friday, 5 August 2005 19:58 (twenty years ago)

They are all busy masturbating in the bathroom.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 August 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

This thread title is ... a Luna reference!

nabisco (nabisco), Friday, 5 August 2005 20:19 (twenty years ago)

Ha. Appropriate, then.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 August 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

i love new threads.

kelsey (kelstarry), Friday, 5 August 2005 20:25 (twenty years ago)

Isn't it though? Because seriously, who's crazier than me?

luna (luna.c), Friday, 5 August 2005 20:26 (twenty years ago)

how much time ya got?

oops (Oops), Friday, 5 August 2005 21:02 (twenty years ago)

All kinds of crazy people
Police and senators too
All the crazy people
Couldn't hold a candle to you

Say goodbye
I can't satisfy
All your dreams

All my nasty habits
Are walkin further away
All my nasty habits
I'm feelin better each day

Say goodbye
I can't satisfy
All your hopes

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 August 2005 21:04 (twenty years ago)

Luna, there is a new Suicidegirl who kind of looks like you. At least based on the one or two photos I've seen of you. I think she's in California, too! Crazy.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 August 2005 21:32 (twenty years ago)

really? I'll have to check it out

luna (luna.c), Friday, 5 August 2005 21:35 (twenty years ago)

Her name is SadieMae.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 August 2005 21:35 (twenty years ago)

Oh she's much prettier than me.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 5 August 2005 21:36 (twenty years ago)

Yes, I am looking at SuicideGirls while I'm at work. The day's almost over, so what.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 August 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

Am I completely wrong about the resemblance, tho? It may just be how her hair is put up.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 August 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

I think it's the hair.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 5 August 2005 21:41 (twenty years ago)

still gorgeous

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 5 August 2005 22:12 (twenty years ago)

Flatterer.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 5 August 2005 22:15 (twenty years ago)

you know it baby. but it's so easy... with you... of course...
i mean.. yeah
i bought a coconut today! and i realised i don't know how to open it. do i use a hammer?

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 5 August 2005 22:29 (twenty years ago)

I am let's say "surprised" that Jaymc is all "so there's this new Suicide Girl, I noticed during my 3:15 check-in..." I never actually looked at the site until a few months back, after meeting a Columbia girl who was incredibly proud of being on there -- and then the free pictures of her made her look about a million times worse than she actually looks.

There is a real resemblance in those pics, though. Sadie Mae is uber-cute, but the whole thing's ruined by the knowledge that there are probably two dozen ill-conceived tattoos and "tribal" body modifications lurking out of frame.

nabiscothingy, Friday, 5 August 2005 22:36 (twenty years ago)

I have 6 tattoos myself.

luna (luna.c), Friday, 5 August 2005 22:51 (twenty years ago)

Oh Nabisco, whatever, you know you love it.

SadieMae's only tattoo is on her lower back: it's a crescent moon surrounded by some stardust and what appear to be blue flames extending from the moon's side.

jaymc (jaymc), Friday, 5 August 2005 23:16 (twenty years ago)

do you really?
wow
you're cooler than me for sure

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 5 August 2005 23:24 (twenty years ago)

hi. i havaen't checked in in a while.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 5 August 2005 23:24 (twenty years ago)

nor messaged me
:(
and here i was, wearing my robe and everything...

dahlin (dahlin), Friday, 5 August 2005 23:27 (twenty years ago)

u haven't messaged me! also, i uh haven't found any recent photos, er...

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 5 August 2005 23:29 (twenty years ago)

Hello... I'm so freaking tired... I'm coming in here to take a nap. Thankzzzzzz

Truckdrivin' Buddha (Rock Hardy), Saturday, 6 August 2005 01:17 (twenty years ago)

BRAVES SUCK! except for andruw, who is awesome. oh, who am i kidding, they're all kind of awesome except for chipper and spastic leo mazzone

mookieproof (mookieproof), Saturday, 6 August 2005 01:20 (twenty years ago)

That woke me up. (They're getting held down and spanked tonight, though.)

Truckdrivin' Buddha (Rock Hardy), Saturday, 6 August 2005 01:23 (twenty years ago)

is it that time already? how are the red sox doin?

dahlin (dahlin), Saturday, 6 August 2005 01:24 (twenty years ago)

Hi dere. Um, I don't mean to intrude as a non-regular, but it occurred to me tonight that my wife was a DJ on KUCI in the early 90s and therefore might have had occasion to meet our very own Ned Raggett at some point, so I was just wondering if our Ned ever met anyone called Babs or Barbara who had a punk/power pop show around 90-93?

Holla back, or something?

Colonel Poo (Colonel Poo), Saturday, 6 August 2005 01:25 (twenty years ago)

dahlin, aren't you in the uk? isn't it awfully late? or am i horribly mistaken?

mookieproof (mookieproof), Saturday, 6 August 2005 01:27 (twenty years ago)

yes. no. you are not mistaken. it is late. i am. yes.

dahlin (dahlin), Saturday, 6 August 2005 01:28 (twenty years ago)

They're getting the shit kicked out of them tonight, but lead their division by 4 games. Playoffs not until Oct., but otherwise it's "that time already" about eight months out of every 12. (Possible evidence of the existence of God.)

Truckdrivin' Buddha (Rock Hardy), Saturday, 6 August 2005 01:28 (twenty years ago)

Spastic Leo Mazzone is my co-pilot.

Truckdrivin' Buddha (Rock Hardy), Saturday, 6 August 2005 01:29 (twenty years ago)

Luna that girl does kinda look like you but you is finah and that's my word.

oops (Oops), Saturday, 6 August 2005 04:51 (twenty years ago)

Luna, you already know what I think, tesoro. You are incomparable.

M. White (Miguelito), Saturday, 6 August 2005 05:29 (twenty years ago)

ooh y'all are making me blush. that was purely for comparison's sake, not to garner compliments...

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 6 August 2005 05:36 (twenty years ago)

(like I'm not eating this up...)

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 6 August 2005 05:36 (twenty years ago)

Enjoy, bellezza.

M. White (Miguelito), Saturday, 6 August 2005 05:39 (twenty years ago)

Between ilx and emails, holy hell, I'm gonna have a big head.

luna (luna.c), Saturday, 6 August 2005 05:41 (twenty years ago)

Drunk! ILX karaoke went well, thank you. I did "Under the Bridge" very nicely, then sort of charmingly butchered "Joyride."

jaymc (jaymc), Saturday, 6 August 2005 06:27 (twenty years ago)

McLusky OWNED "Beat It."

jaymc (jaymc), Saturday, 6 August 2005 06:27 (twenty years ago)

D'oh:

It's OK, I mean look at what my test results say - I'm a narcissistic nit-picker who has raised naval gazing to a new science!
I've decided to just go with the self-absorbtion and just revel in it. Yes, that's me!

-- I Dream Of Sleep (masonicboo...), August 23rd, 2005 12:03 PM. (kate) (later)

I Dream Of Sleep (kate), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 11:04 (twenty years ago)

Don't sweat it G-kit! Seriously dude, don't make me come over there!

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 11:06 (twenty years ago)

ok, i'm over it ((mask ON)).

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 11:09 (twenty years ago)

;-)

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 11:18 (twenty years ago)

nah, it's more like =^.^=

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 11:19 (twenty years ago)

hm. i wanna know if any ilx0rs are going to Reading this year. but i don't wanna start a thread. what to do?

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 11:52 (twenty years ago)

The random girl who has been very chatty to me in the street (half an hour today) turns out to have a boyfriend. Bah.

At least I found this out before trying to ask her out or anything. It's the last day I will see her tomorrow - if I do - so maybe there's still a "do you want to keep in touch?" option there. She seems like she'd be a nice person to have as a friend anyway.

In other news, my email address has changed yet again. hurrah.

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 11:55 (twenty years ago)

Friends are good.

g-kit: you could try this thread on ILM - it might need reviving though:
a thread for anticipating Reading Festival - help me pick what to see!

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:02 (twenty years ago)

Why don't you want to start a thread G-Kit?

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:11 (twenty years ago)

i feel that starting threads is a big thing. i have about three under my belt and felt guilty for starting them all. can't really explain further. it's like, um... your own thread is a responsibility. or something. i dunno. just dun like doing it.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:16 (twenty years ago)

Yeah I know what you mean, I have started some really crappy threads in my time! I can't even remember the last one i started.

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:17 (twenty years ago)

Ha! I think I've started like 75 threads or so in my time on ILX and they're all crap!

Kittens Licking Cakes (coco), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:38 (twenty years ago)

I am actually going to Reading but only on Sunday. Mostly I will be backstage running amok (amok! amok! amok!) with my sisX0r, tho. Heh.

I Dream Of Sleep (kate), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:39 (twenty years ago)

Hm, what shall I buy for dinner? I can have ANYTHING I WANT because Matt is doing that lemonade master cleanse/fast thing this week and not eating at all the freak.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:50 (twenty years ago)

hey, i'll be backstage too. and probably running amok. fancy a backstage pint?

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:51 (twenty years ago)

Archel, what kind of thing do you fancy?

Look at you two fancy parts backstagers!

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:54 (twenty years ago)

Yes! That would be very rock. And amok! Email me and I'll give you my phone number if you want to meet up. Or you could just try to find me if you dare!

I Dream Of Sleep (kate), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:54 (twenty years ago)

muahaha. and did i not mention my HOTEL?

xpost
well, i have no chance of spotting you unless you're clutching a jazzmaster.
this'll probably not come to anything since i generally FREAK OUT at the prospect of meeting people like this. but.. well, we'll see what happens (ie how drunk i get).

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:57 (twenty years ago)

Did I mention our TOURBUS?!?!?!?

I will not be clutching a jazzmaster. I will be clutching my guitar tech sisX0r, who will be cluting whatever guitar Ron Asheton is playing at the moment.

I Dream Of Sleep (kate), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:58 (twenty years ago)

Go on G-Kit, be brave dude, Kate will take good care of you!

Kate - I miss you! kthxbye!

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 12:59 (twenty years ago)

I think I might have a baked potato and loads of salad - a classic solo meal :)

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 13:00 (twenty years ago)

haha, blaggers unite.
well hey, how's this for an idea: i'll mail you MY number, then i have no opportunity for being a complete and utter girl and getting scared, or getting all "she won't want me hassling her, probably busy anyway" or any other of the 50 billion excuses i could feasibly imagine for backing out of this kind of thing at the last minute.
(that makes lots of sense to me, probably none to anybody else)

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 13:03 (twenty years ago)

OK, cool, do that, then g-kit. I am very good at texting people and pestering them to meet up, I have no shame. :-)

I Dream Of Sleep (kate), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 13:05 (twenty years ago)

i guess i have no balls.

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 13:05 (twenty years ago)

Archel - This was the meal that I had the other day & it was so yummy. I made some cheese & chive mashed potato, baked some squash & had some red pepper nut roast, totally yummy scrummy. (I cheated & bought the nut roast though!)

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 13:06 (twenty years ago)

I've got ovaries, man. Who needs balls?

I Dream Of Sleep (kate), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 13:06 (twenty years ago)

i'm so going to get out of this though. i am infinitely resourceful when it comes to being a total wuss. you people have no idea!

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 13:09 (twenty years ago)

I just asked my boss if I could take tomorrow off, and he said yes. Hurrah!

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 13:16 (twenty years ago)

can you ask your boss if i can have tomorrow off, too? seems like a better bet than asking mine...

g-kit (g-kit), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:09 (twenty years ago)

I want Thursday off because my sisX0r arrives on Wednesday which means mucho drinking that night (especially if she drags me to Camden to see some silly rock star she has a crush on, oh dear). can you ask my boss for me, too, while you're at it?

I Dream Of Sleep (kate), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:10 (twenty years ago)

archel, what is this lemonade master cleanse. i'm always curious about what these theme diets are like. is it english lemonade? or yummy american lemonade? i could probably live on american lemonade for a couple days without too much of a problem but it has so much sugar i can't imagine it's any good for you!

colette (a2lette), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:13 (twenty years ago)

I haven't actually asked him, but he would say something like "tell them to ask their own bosses, the cheeky sods!"

I've got Friday off too. Four day weekend, woo!

Forest Pines (ForestPines), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:15 (twenty years ago)

I've got Friday off too! woo!

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:15 (twenty years ago)

Ohoho no it's not like normal lemonade. There's actually a thread about it somewhere... I will find it. But basically this drink is maple syrup/blackstrap molasses + lemon juice + water + cayenne pepper. You also have to drink salt water and laxative tea YUM.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:16 (twenty years ago)

I'm a narcissistic nit-picker who has raised naval gazing to a new science!

Telling misspelling in there, Kate.

M. White (Miguelito), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:31 (twenty years ago)

What did I misspell?

Honestly, I just checked it!

I Dream Of Sleep (kate), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:33 (twenty years ago)

Master Cleanse For Bloated Addicts

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

Ooh archel, let us know how that goes!

Panther Pink (Pinkpanther), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 14:46 (twenty years ago)

Naval = related to the navy

Navel Gazing = omphaloskepsis

M. White (Miguelito), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 15:45 (twenty years ago)

Are the oranges Naval (because they prevent scurvy) or Navel (because they have an indentation, sort of)?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 15:47 (twenty years ago)

The latter, apparently. I always thought it was some Spanish derivation, but perhaps not.

Archel (Archel), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 15:51 (twenty years ago)

Geez this one got over 1000 quickly - any ideas for naming the next?

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 15:58 (twenty years ago)

we're all a box of crazy.

"box" ƒur¥ (Je4nne Fury), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 15:59 (twenty years ago)

hahaha - oh they know that already!

luna (luna.c), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 16:01 (twenty years ago)

TITTWIS bend over, I'll show ya.

xmas vacation ƒur¥ (Je4nne Fury), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 16:02 (twenty years ago)

(xpost) "they"

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 16:02 (twenty years ago)

Origin: Originated from Bahia Navel from Brazil. Sent to the USA in 1870.

M. White (Miguelito), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 16:14 (twenty years ago)

omphalos is one of my favourite words

dahlin (dahlin), Tuesday, 23 August 2005 16:19 (twenty years ago)

I'm picking at random.
