If someone asks a question not realising that it's been asked and answered before, why is it "asshole factor" or "rockist" to point them in the direction of those previous answers?

There may be information on those previous threads from people who are no longer contributing to the forum or who just can't be arsed to repeat what they've already written.

Surely it requires a far greater "asshole factor" for someone to ask a question again (rather than just reviving an earlier thread) if they either know it's been asked before or are just too fuckin' idle and selfish to bother searching the archives before they ask it?

Indeed, I'd be forced to wonder whether the person who did this was actually interested in discussing any topic other than themselves!

I dig what Stewart is saying. I personally don't post anything I think I might be old unless I do a search first. In fact I don't post anything unless I think people might be interested or entertained. Yes I'm saying "BE ORIGINAL," so what.

That one guy who posted the mixtape thread and actually posted the mp3 so people would hear the songs and his skills - THAT was cool. All you other people posting their lists and mixtapes - what the fuck.
