Which is your ILM thread?

There are threads dominated (I'd like to say owned) by certain people, usually by fans. Whenever there is a thread revival with a new post (often critical) the fan will step in and answer or defend his darling. Examples are:

- The Cure: Classic or Dud? by Dan
- Lloyd Cole And The Commotions: Classic Or Dud by the pinefox
- ABBA: Classic or Dud? by Tom
- RAdiohead by Melissa
- Killing Joke - Classic Or Dud, Search And Destroy by alex in nyc
- The Dismemberment Plan: Classic Or Dud? by Josh

Which thread is yours? Or which thread do you remember as being "owned" (or occupied) by someone?

I'm particularly bad about this, but since I have some minority interests, I feel that I have don't have much choice but to periodically revive some of my own threads (or threads which I have made my own, like the timba one). My hope is that some day someone will google up some of these threads and suddenly my Oum Kalthoum thread will have 900 posts.

I'd like to think I also rule COVER CONNECTIONS -- `tho I do have competitors (Zebedee & Kenny among them).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 4 October 2002 23:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I was going to say that you rule cover connections too, Alex, but since you just slighted me I won't bother. Pbbbbt.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Friday, 4 October 2002 23:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Oops, sorry Sean.

Any thread asking for recommendations.

Indie Guilt: C/D

simon trife (simon_tr), Saturday, 5 October 2002 06:15 (twenty-three years ago)

most of my posts to that thread are me and tim talking about stuff or me making fun of ned! despite that yes it is my thread haha.

Josh (Josh), Saturday, 5 October 2002 07:02 (twenty-three years ago)

Typical response - Gil Bernal - Search & Destroy

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 5 October 2002 08:18 (twenty-three years ago)

Gil Bernal - Search & Destroy rather

James Blount (James Blount), Saturday, 5 October 2002 08:20 (twenty-three years ago)

I think I overran and rather suffocated poor old 'they're made up!' in the end...

Mr Swygart (mrswygart), Saturday, 5 October 2002 18:31 (twenty-three years ago)

they're made up!

Though I could well be wrong. I forgot to do the profiles, in the end...

Mr Swygart (mrswygart), Saturday, 5 October 2002 18:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Mine is about Mike Reno's ass.

Mark (MarkR), Saturday, 5 October 2002 19:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I didn't start "The Miracle of the Smiths" thread (that was the Pinefox) but I can't remember ever enjoying and appreciating a thread more. That would be mine, then.

robin carmody (robin carmody), Saturday, 5 October 2002 23:21 (twenty-three years ago)

The link to The Miracle of the Smiths thread, which I enjoyed reading a lot. There can never be enough Smiths threads on ILM ;-)

My thread would probably be Early Joy Division. Though I feel that that thread isn't finished yet.

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Sunday, 6 October 2002 10:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Any of the dance threads, probably the one about clubland which turned into a deep dish discussion, also the best dj mix thread was great.

Ronan (Ronan), Sunday, 6 October 2002 12:51 (twenty-three years ago)

Oh...you're looking for a SPECIFIC thread. I think the two where I lost my mind and started bickering with C*lum were the two that I was most vocal in. I -- personally -- think I 0wnz0r those threads. But I'm sure even if I had remained quiet, somebody else (Ned or Tom or Alex, probably) would've schooled that nitwitted varmint.

Lord Custos Alpha (Lord Custos Alpha), Monday, 7 October 2002 00:21 (twenty-three years ago)

My one and only thread

felicity (felicity), Monday, 7 October 2002 06:44 (twenty-three years ago)

Ned or Tom or Alex, probably

Calum bored me after a bit so it wouldn't have been me. He really seemed to think all his complaints about Loveless were actually going to bug me, which was funny.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 7 October 2002 15:25 (twenty-three years ago)

Aww, Calum was fun!

James Blount (James Blount), Monday, 7 October 2002 15:53 (twenty-three years ago)

`tho I do have competitors

one is honoured just to be mentioned in the same breath as Sir Alex of NYC :)

zebedee, Monday, 7 October 2002 16:39 (twenty-three years ago)

I got a tip from China that they stole old Buddha's gong so I took an ocean liner down to old Hong Kong

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Monday, 7 October 2002 16:57 (twenty-three years ago)

I loved that thread, Fritz. Has a thread ever been so owned? Don't anyone else touch it!

Arthur (Arthur), Monday, 7 October 2002 23:10 (twenty-three years ago)

since i only post here about soft rock and riot grrrl, those threads are mine.
