Leaving behind the post to retain the IP address is not an excuse for not getting rid of the offensive screen name, particularly since you're already editing the post to get rid of the offensive content.

But, you know, if being a dick to one of the people directly referenced to by the slur seems to be a better response than answering a question, that's fine; I can take a hint.
