my friend & I have our own spot on a student radio station. For two hours we get to entertain the nation. We have chosen our genre: 60 & 70's rock and I need help compiling a playlist. Can you guys name some obscure garage rock, psychedlic, r & B, punk rock bands you think we should play. ie. 13th floor elevators, the seeds, the sonics, count five etc...

some of these discussions may help:

freakbeat: s/d
let us now talk about psychedelia
Nuggets Vol 1
Pebbles (not Nuggets)-- C or D?
Nightcrawlers, The Creation, Mojo Men, Syndicate of Sound, Moby Grape, etc.-- C or D?

you must buy _s.f. sorrow_ by the pretty things.
the outsiders _c.q._ is sort of similar and great.
mc5 _'66 breakout_

invest in some psych comps! if you're going to be doing a show week after week and don't anticipate buying a shitload of new albums every week, they go a long way.
_acid dreams_
_perfumed garden_
_brainshadows_
_pebbles_ series
_nuggets_ series
_rubble_ series
_back from the grave_ series (esp. the one with the jesters of newport)
_hava narghile_
_turkish delights_
_love, peace and poetry_
_the psychedelic experience_ 1-4
_#8 wire_
_world of acid_
_rare mexican cuts from the 60s_
the brazilian one called _hearts of stone_, i think
_sons of yma_
_wizzz: psychorama francaise_
_psychogaelique_
_steam kodok_
_chains and black exhaust_ (funk/soul with fuzz guitars)

arf! arf! has a bunch of great ones (beyond the calico wall, 30 seconds before the calico wall, everything you've always wanted to know about 60s mind-expansive punkadelic garage rock instrumentals, buzzzz buzz buzz, the ______ dose of ______ psych series).

is your show going to be broadcast on the internet?

wow, thanks you guys rule.

it's a student radio station in NZ, so i don't think any of you would be able to tune in. We might be jet streaming in the future though, will keep you posted. Thanks again for your help, i've been checking out amazon.com to see if i can get some of these artists!
