I can't. I'm useless. But I like rhythm.
Actually someone once mentioned they liked my dancing style, but I rarely drink that much anymore...

I can dance salsa, cha cha cha, merengue, a bit of swing, minimal ballroom "rumba," minimal fox trot, jazz samba, and freestyle that is stiffer than it was before I learned all that (though I loosen up after dancing for an extended period of time).

V. impressive, RS!

I can salsa (NY & cuban) and I can sort of wiggle, but I retain a certain fondness for walking back and forth looking at the floor. Is this really a music question?

I find it silly to spend a lot of time to learn how to look silly when music is played. You all realize you look like a bunch of tribal monkeys, right? If you dance, I hope it is for your enjoyment and, therefore, you don't try to look good, learn steps, or otherwise make dancing something other than what it is.

Next time there's some dancing on TV, I urge you to turn down the volume and try not to laugh. (being on drugs would probaly help too)

I've been told I have a cute dancing style, but I get mad self-conscious. Plus my girlfriend is a good foot shorter making it rather hard for me to dance with her.

I can do the Jerry Lewis...if that's the dance Mike D is going in the "Hold It Now Hit It" video when he says that.

Is this really a music question?

maybe. i like rythmic music but i can't dance. ambient music doesn't calm me down. a whole lot of people just go to clubs to listen etc.

Maybe I want to look like a tribal monkey.

In my experience learning steps and learning moves and so forth has allowed me to have a type of experience while dancing that I would have missed otherwise. Lead-follow partner dancing has its own distinctive energy, and takes at least minimal technique. (Granted, plenty of people get along fine without lessons.) I'm a little concerned with how I look (partly simply for advertising purposes), but more concerned with my experience and my partners experience (if that's the type of dancing I'm doing) while dancing.

Zora, New York mambo-style? I don't know that, but it's not done too much in Philadelphia. I dance Philadelphia gringo eclectic on-1 style.

I twitch intriguingly but enthusiastically.

I think one of the funniest things in life is to see someone in either that moment right when they decide to dance, or right when they decide to stop.

Oops (Oops), Monday, 3 February 2003 23:48 (twenty-three years ago)

yikes! I knew there had to be other threads but putting dance in search didn't seem a good idea.

A photo depicting Anthony Antone's dreams should not be posted anywhere.

Indeed I can. I've been told I do it pretty well, but I only dance to music I really like so I should do. If I'm on the floor and I'm not feeling the music - you know when you're doing it out of obligation because a friend needs company - I will not enjoy myself, and will therefore look crap dancing, and will leave if it doesn't pick up pretty damn sharpish. If I do like the music I will not leave which is a good thing because it's the only excercise I ever get, I feel so good after a good couple of hours dancing and I'm usually on a high for the next day. Dancing is GREAT! I really feel sorry for people who don't enjoy it.

According to my girlfriend my brother and I both dance with a similar style even though I rarely go clubbing with him. So I guess you can say I'm a natural freestyler, LOL.
