When was the last time you had a "complete breakfast"?

* a bowl of your favorite BRAND cereal of choice
* Buttered toast
* Eggs
* Bacon and/or sausage
* Pancakes
* Hashbrowns
* Banana or other fruit
* Orange Juice
* Milk

..you know, just like in the cereal commercials aimed at kids?

You're allowed to leave one item off. You're also allowed two minor subsitutions. So did you? ANYTHING MORE DEVIANT IS NOT A COMPLETE BREAKFAST. PURINA/GENERAL MILLS/KELLOGG'S SAYS SO!

(for reference, here are breakfast threads from past:
Breakfast: the bees knees or mouldy cheese?
breakfast?
Breakfast
what did you have for breakfast today part whatever
BREAKFAST??
your fucking breakfast
what do you eat for breakfast?
)

o man sometimes i'll go to the mayflower and do this only no fruit (unless 'maple syrup' is a fruit) and the cereal will be 'grit' and the milk will be cream in my coffee. sometimes i'll throw in a bagel!

(urt15 - how do you get yr hashbrowns at waffle house? i'm strictly scattered and smothered.

j blount (papa la bas), Monday, 6 June 2005 17:16 (twenty years ago)

Scattered and smothered for me as well. I don't generally eat hashbrowns with my breakfasts, though; potatoes of any fashion don't seem like morning food to me.

Nobody has any business eating a breakfast that large unless they're going out afterwards to plow the lower forty.

Joe McCombs, Tuesday, 7 June 2005 02:44 (twenty years ago)

Is this what people normally talk about on ILE?

joseph cotten (joseph cotten), Tuesday, 7 June 2005 02:47 (twenty years ago)

Yes.

How come no one has brought up the breakfast burrito? That hits like so many birds with one stone! Eggs, sausage, buttered [tortilla], potatoes...

I eat with gusto, damn you bet!

jarrito-joe, Tuesday, 7 June 2005 22:05 (twenty years ago)

two years pass...

getting up early and having a real breakfast with eggs toast etc: c/d/where does this fall on the continuum of awesness that also includes "standard bagel & coffee" and "waking up whenever and stumbling into frou-frou brunch with a bellini in one hand and a bloody mary in the other"?

get bent, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 13:55 (seventeen years ago)

uh, this needs to be on ILE

get bent, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 14:19 (seventeen years ago)

get bent, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 14:20 (seventeen years ago)

a bellini in one hand and a bloody mary in the other

That's two of your "5-a-day" right there.

snoball, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 14:20 (seventeen years ago)

I had a sausage sandwich and a bowl of Crunchy Nut Cornflakes one day last week and Emma told me off something rotten. One day this week I had two sausages and two fried eggs; that was good. Today I had two waffles with Nutella. Yesterday I had a bacon sarnie.

Had my first-ever steak-&-eggs (and sausage and home fries and toast and OJ and unlimited coffee) breakfast during my first-ever visit to Las Vegas a while back. Total price: $2.95!! Plus we could smoke at the table if we considered our hearts still too healthy! Folks were queueing for 60-75 minutes to wait for a table, but groups of nine or more were ushered right to the head of the line...and there were exactly nine of us in our party! Life is good.

Myonga Vön Bontee, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:47 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, Vegas is great for cheap buffets (and other things)
